I'm afraid the Cruise Industry is going to implode. All the rate hikes, nickel dime charges, ports refusing ships, protestors at some ports. I feel left out. Service on my past two cruises was noticeably less.

You don't have to pay this "gratuity" charge. Simply go to the service desk when you board the ship and tell them to remove the daily charge....tip if you want to...

Good morning, Doug! I like all that cool looking sound & editing equipment in the background! I am astonished at the cruise price increases across the board in recent months! So glad I booked the next few cruises for 2025 & 2026 when I did! Cruise pricing is dynamic so maybe the prices will come down after the elections in November. I've never sailed on Princess Cruise Lines but hope to one day! The Sphere Class ships look amazing! I kind of wish gratuity was included in the cruise ticket. Have a great week Doug!
Norwegian is at $20 a day per person so a family of 4 would be $80 a day. Plus I hear the ship keeps the tips and pays them a flat rate. Take the charges off and tip the stateroom guys in cash.
Mad Sizzle? Didn't sound familiar, and I was on the Jubilee earlier this year. So I had to google it. It's part of the Street Eats offerings: "Mad Sizzle, which puts the “skill” in skillet with the likes of kebab and satay." I feel smarter now. Thanks Doug. 🥰
How is the differential between a regular cabin and suite only $2? Suites have far more square footage to clean and those guests are paying a premium for the luxury. 🤔
Hi Doug, question about Princess tip increase. The way it was worded it sounds like the increase applies even if you have prepaid grats or purchased the all in packages. I know that on RCL li prepaid the tips and I did not have to pay the increase at the time of sailing even though they had increased them before boarding. Am I hearing this correctly? Cheers🍻
Someone recently pointed out that the daily gratuity charge is really nothing more than a service charge that should be part of the advertised cruise cost. Let's force the industry to become ethical and do the honest thing. They are so self-serving and dishonest.
That’s what I saw on website also. Showed last night but I went in app to pay 2025 gratuities and was still $16 so I paid them and bought my cases of water just in case.

Good Grief!! With held gratuities burning up social media, cruise lines are basically saying "deal with it B_____ches" I think if everyone simply cruised and refrained from drinking ANY alcoholic drinks it would bring them to their knees!!! LOL
In relation to increased gratuities, has anyone every confirmed how much of the gratuities go to the staff? I sincerely hope every dollar is dispersed to the service crew who work so hard and sacrifice being away from their families for so many months at a time to serve us.

If you know YOUR employees work so hard for your patrons…..pay them …don’t try and guilt trip your customers into paying your employees…We spend whatever amount they charge for our experience on their cruise line 🛳️ in exchange for the services they say are rendered during your vacation….a family of 4 or five being made to pay several hundred dollars extra…this not right…tips should be generic ..given out gratitude ..not expected….tips were created in this country (USA 🇺🇸 ) after slavery was abolished…in the late 1800’s ..the business owners claimed they couldn’t pay their workers..they were allowed to work and received only what the patrons felt like giving them if anything…later on this was deemed unconstitutional and the minimum wage law was passed in the late 1900’s ….at 19$ per person on a 7 day cruise that’s an extra 700,000 plus dollars that ship is making…I give to those who impact my vacation in a positive way…some employees make u feel special for those 7 days and u just wanna give them what u can…anything should appreciated ..right? #ChooseFun
