- This is the NHK live broadcast during the 2011 Tohoku earthquake, which happened on March 11, 2011.
Tomorrow marks exactly 13 years since it happened, so I thought I would make a video as a remembrance of this disaster. My sincere condolences to those who are affected by this.
Remember to always take cover during earthquakes, and evacuate whenever a tsunami is expected. Don't hold yourself back.

Hi! Just a few clarifications I'd like to make regarding this video.
Firstly, while I am somewhat fluent in Japanese, I still often struggle to use grammar and sentence structure properly. English is my primary language, and I don't use Japanese to most extent. I had most of my texts proofread before I published this video, but if you see any odd translations, apologies about that.
Secondly, this is the first of the two parts for my Tohoku earthquake video "collection." The other one will be a synchronized compilation of footage of the earthquake.
Lastly, to clarify, I am not a seismologist, and I do not use any simulation software. I am just a person who has an interest in seismology research.
Hope this clarifies some stuff. I might edit this later so I can include Japanese as well.

Really hope this doesnt happen again as Japan is notorious for earthquakes. Really feel bad for them after the JAL 516 crash.. Stay safe out there y'all!

I remember I saw some news on television in Romania about the eartquake happened in Japan, in 2011 (I was 11 years old). It was sad to see the catastrophe scenes on TV
