Jason, I've been watching old videos of when you first started, and what a difference! The first bunch was a basically a silent movie, and not the greatest video. But with you commenting on things, the videos got much better. keep on getting better.
Now that it's over a month since the irregular shipments from LP started to happen one can almost envision all these homes sitting there shivering half naked waiting for their application of Smart Siding..That was the train from Green Bay Sunday or Monday night and the only change was they took out a car of lumber.probably at Crivitz. Also surprising was that there were no box cars like every train seems to have at that point. Thanks for the updates so we know what's happening in Frigid Land
I really appreciate that you got E&LS to put in a slow order by your house so I can read the reporting marks. And a green Freddy, great video. Thanks for sharing. 👍
503 was built in 1966 as a SD40 for GTW. It was rebuilt by BNSF in 2002 to SD40-2 specs. Therefore, while the frame & carbody are older than the SD40-2s (1972-1980), the prime mover, control electronics & alternator are newer.
Whatever happened to the old fashioned caboose at the end of trains? I just shake my head how people cross a railroad crossing when it's lit up and it looks like they don't even slow to look where the train is.
One of the lines on which I ran had out-of-servive crossing protection at a state highway. The FRA told us that we were not to cross that highway, even with flagging, until the protection was restored. The good news was that there was no reason to cross the highway.
@@erie910 That's interesting because crossbucks and flagging constitute protection but I've heard all kinds of things from individual inspectors which make one wonder and also it might vary by state, we flagged a 4 lane and crossed and had no issues
Jason : I always leave you a like on your videos. Wish I could get up to the U.P. again some time. I used to up to LacLabelle and go fishing for pide, and lake trout with a friend of mine. Haven't been back up there since 1996! I'll be 75 this March, and it's not easy for me to drive long distances anymore. Joe Bliss Plymouth, Mi.
Enjoyed watching this video thanks Jason

Well that's a quick turnaround if I've ever seen one 503 she's working hard all be it returning the empty's.
The correct spelling is "empties," not "empty's."
@erie910 ok fine empties

Unbelievable they haven’t fixed those lights at that crossing yet
good train video
Sounds like a new whistle on 503
About time you get some snow on the ground.
it's amazing how fast they pick up speed
What's good Jason I finally went back to work today so I'm a little late seeing this!
Did anyone notice the bunny rabbit at 5:45?
I have enjoyed all your video's since starting. now as for snow..you need a blizzard..lol
You want a blizzard go to Dairy Queen!
I was watching another video from another channel and they showed E. l. S. 1220 I wonder if you will get to see that one anytime
I am in Fresno Ca on center beams is it loads in impiety's out or Vis aversity
Wonder how the glue in the tank cars tolerates this cold weather. Is there a way to heat the glue so that it can be pumped out of the cars?
Typically there are steam lines on those cars in which steam is put on them at destination to heat up the contents so it flows.
Komin' on down to Squeeky korner (yes - I know it does not squeek or screech af the derailment site)...
I don’t know but 503 seems to be in much better shape than 501 doesn’t seem to smoke much taking off. Sounds much better too. Must be newer.

The power assemblies could have been replaced.

Are there any regulations on how long a warning device can be out of service? Any rail people know?
If they are stopping and flagging the crossing the warning devices can be out permanently

@@richardhunn4298 Thanks, I'm shocked that the railroad would not want to fix it as soon as possible for multiple reasons.
