Egal welchen Hoodie, welches Shirt alles passt perfekt in Größe m.

    This chap speaks with authority, he speaks with clarity and he speaks with passion. If you’re new to the world of bespoke clothing you could NOT be in better hands.
    If there were any doubt as to his credentials, take a look at the very first bespoke commission he’s wearing in this video. It looks splendid, it’s improved with age and is proof that if you buy cheap you buy twice. Fantastic! I’m a very happy subscriber.

    I too am floored, when Mr. Hugo mentioned the suit he was wearing was his first Bespoke suit my eyes studied the image closely. This is 2018 and the jacket fits great shoulders are not exaggerated I then went back to other video to look at the jackets and ties. I noticed Mr.Hugo has a unique way of wearing his ties a subtle imperfection in the way that is displayed. This man speaks of individuals in the mens fashion industry the same way sports enthusiasts speak of general managers, coaches, assistant coaches and players of sports teams (knowledge and passion).

    This video is of particular importance for young people. And any still 'youthful' person watching this and perhaps reading the comments section, can totally trust in the statement early on in the video regarding the true eventual costs of highest quality attire: it IS substantially less expensive over time to purchase high quality in the first place, and, you will in any event make better impressions all along the way too. I'm not trying to be a snob about it, just letting you young people know, that if you are ever stuck trying to decide whether or not to spend on that something that you desire but which seems almost out of reach - don't waste too much time, just reach. You will NEVER regret it.

    This guy's knowledge, experience, passion and taste are so admirable. His body language, dressing sense, choice of words, say it all. His suit, colour of the tie and the way he's worn it, cuff-links are just a few to show his class. The ease with which he speaks in this attire is just incredible. Even a person who can't afford such things in life will be inspired when he listens to him.

    The pursuit of fashion may seem trivial to some. However your artistic taste adds a flavor that as a western man, I have not seen very often. It’s art in a utilitarian manner- I love this... I think any reasonable man can see this sincerity within you, And more so take away something that can only add depth and quality to ones life.. thank you for sharing these experiences sir. I’m intrigued and hopeful for men’s fashion to grow here in the west.. keep pushing dear friend.

      The pursuit of fashion can be a bit trivial. The measured pursuit of style is worthwhile. Mr. Jacomet is right from the beginning when he says that tailoring is a difficult artistic path. I've sewn for 20 years and have made more dress shirts, ties, and suits than I can remember. I've studied online with Sir Andrew Ramroop, who's the managing director at Maurice Sedwell on Savile Row. With all that time and effort, I will never in my lifetime say I'm a true bespoke tailor. There are nuances that can only be learned at the side of a bespoke tailor. I'll never have that. I can make a well-fitting, stylish garment but it's not best in world. However, my sewing has taught me what to look for, how to distinguish good from bad, and how to improve upon and enjoy my craft. I think that's what has given me the most satisfaction. This is a great video and that is a fantastic suit too. I think I like this video most because Mr Jacomet doesn't disparage anyone but still gets the point across. That's the mark of a real gentleman.🙏🏾👍🏾

    Thank you that is very true... The best tailor is the one that you have made a personal connection with, that shares your journey with you. Following your recommendation for tailors in South East Asia, I've found a great tailor that has helped me immensely. He always has excellent recommendations on fabric for this (warm, tropical) climate and we spend a lot of time discussing what I want to achieve with a suit, what exactly is my purpose for the garment, how and when I will be wearing it... I have my 2nd suit being made now, after about 3 years of making the first. It's been a great experience and I like to think, I have made a friend as well as found a tailor. (He also seems to share my love of good footwear so we spend a lot of time talking about shoes!)

    10:14-11:25 Im glad that he discussed the rapport and the ongoing dialogue between the client and the tailor. I imagine that the more in depth the conversation and understanding of the client's needs, the better equipped the tailor will be in creating the necessary design elements. I also love that he differentiated between styles, draping, materials etc. What if this is the client's first experience, how can you accommodate that? What does the client know about the process? What is it that they don't know or are unsure of? Where is the suit to be worn?

    • @SARTORIALTALKS
      @SARTORIALTALKS  6 років тому

      That's an interesting point. And that's where a great tailor makes a real difference in comparison with a normal one. Guiding the client, explaining the process, putting his customer at ease is an important (and often under estimated) part of a master tailor job and duty. Cheers, Hugo

    I am French, live in London and own several of both including Italian suits. However, the video is seriously limited by not mentioning the very high quality Thai (elite) tailors that exist, some of whom studied in top haute couture schools in Paris and London. To be clear: I am not referring to the crap suits that can made in two days. Here we are discussing the four or five tailors that make remarkable suit with innovative changes due to the hot climate and different seasonal pattern (i.e., use of Egyptian cotton and silks). I would love to hear what Mr. Hugo thinks of these well-crafted suits vis-a-vis the "home" style bespoke design discussed herein and other videos.

    I do understand the love we all share for bespoke suits, shoe and such Hugo. But could maybe make an video or list, what brands, shoemakers and tailors to look at, for us people that dont want or cant spent 5000 pund on suits or shoes? I know almost all people can save up for these suits, but for me the limited is about 1000-1200 punds for a pair of shoes or an suit.
    I dont really have any problems with shoes in that price range, but it is abit harder with suits that i look for ( English style).

    Yes,bespoke suits can be very good value. My father,as a young architect working in London,had a suit cut by John Lawrence of Saville Row in the mid 70’s. He still had it 40 years later and it still fitted! Amazing.

    Hugo, I'm from Mexico, my first approach to bespoke was wen I made a campaign for Brioni as a model, then I get in love with sartorial experience. You mentioned a lot of tailors from Europe, but I meet years ago a tailor in Mexico named Gilberto Ortiz (who just died) and he made my first bespoke suit. He was named by Scabal as one of the best Tailor's in the world (ironic of what you just explain) anyway it would be great if you check the job of that tailor and give an opinion. Bon chance!!

    I remember when I was 18 my father took me to a very famous and highly talented bespoke tailor (a true artist who should remain nameless) and he made me a most gorgeous suit; a true piece of art that fitted like a glove. I’ve never been in love with any material possession in my life, with the exception of that particular suit. Needless to say, it costed an arm and a leg., too. Something like a year later our maid accidentally washed it in the washing machine and dried it in the dryer! Amazingly enough, the suit was so well-constructed that it suffered very little damage from that careless onslaught / treatment, though in the process it shrunk and became at least a couple of sizes smaller. Hence I ended up donating it to a smaller framed cousin who proudly used it for many years. So is the way of the quality.

  • @paulcrawford5437
    @paulcrawford5437 5 років тому

    I think the explosion of social media has also contributed to the popularity of bespoke suits. I remember when I was younger I thought a suit was a suit lol but you see the "celebrities" with these amazing suits and the videos of various tailors shops and you soon realise yes these suits are expensive but not prohibitively so. Bespoke suits are within reach of many that once thought it was the domain of the rich.

      I was just mentioning about bad tailors because with any art, sometimes artist that seems bad, comes up with something new or style, it may never be realized by that artist but borrowed by others etc. So I was just saying that more tailors the better even if some are bad, but yes any kind of skimping on value is bad. As for the two I mentioned, the cuts are definitely different, one is in canada another itay so, I was just mainly saying about construction and craftsmanship. Additionally I do not own any of their suits unfortunately so It is only from what I have seen from multimedia. Thanks for the response.
