Thank you for being so incredibly thoughtful and gracious in all of these videos, Dean Z! You have made a meaningful difference in my application process, and I'm so grateful for your perspective!
My heart is not ready to listen to this video yet, but I have it saved to watch when the pain isn't so fresh. Thank you for being so kind and thoughtful to all law school applicants. One of the many reasons I wanted to attend Michigan Law so badly!
I ended up not applying this year. But if this video isn't the definition of "INTEGRITY" on the part of law admissions officers, I wouldn't know what would be. Much respect to Dean Z and the rest of the Wolverine admissions crew.
It is validating to feel her respect for all us applicants pour through the screen. Thank you Dean Z for being thoughtful online and off. Great to know we can trust her application review to be thorough and fair!
Thank you for the video Dean Z. Can you explain why law schools give so much emphasis to an exact LSAT score in a future video? So many “Holistic Decisions” are based on whether X applicant was able to score 1 more question (put them at target median or not) on a test that in many respects is not really correlated to success as a law student or as an attorney (looking right at you logic games). Can law schools ever lobby to change how the USNWR rankings are calculated? Do top law schools even want to?
Thank you for a great video on a difficult topic! Your videos in general are really helpful, but this one in particular is fantastic. I really appreciate the time you have put into this series throughout the year!
Dean Z, Thank you for all of your videos they are so helpful. My question, how do you and the University of Michigan review the Non-Traditional Students when they apply?
Thanks for another great video, Dean Z! One question (not necessarily admissions related) that I've wondered constantly throughout this series - which of the books on the shelves behind you are your favorites?
Hey Dean Z Im going to start applying in fall 2022 for 2023 admissions. One thing im confused about is how to submit the LORs outside of LSAC. Most of my recommenders are older folks and not well versed in technology. Would it be possible/approbiate to submit an LOR via email or fax?
It’s possible, but only for some admissions offices-we’ll allow it, but I know of many that just aren’t set up to handle that. So, I would definitely recommend trying to get them to use the LSAC system; it’s my understanding that it is pretty straightforward-I have definitely received LORs from technophobes! Maybe they can get someone to help them with it, if you introduce the idea with plenty of warning.

I respect this perspective so much. It helps so many of us applicants feel so much less minimized through a very black box process.

That would make an awesome video.
I'll never qualify to go to this school, BUT I still love Dean Z!
Hello. Is the pool of applicants this year still strong?
Hey Dean Z

@@umichlaw Thank you!
@@umichlaw One more question. Is it helpful to submit, with my application, a sample of my writing? Things like essays, research papers, etc...
