Their arena may be good, but can they heal for 2 every turn? Nope? Well then they're missing out on the pure, unadulterated value of playing priest. Controlerino forever!

Interrupt mechanics and other similar interactions was what med Guildwars (not GW 2) good. You had a Mesmer class that was specialized just in effects that messed with opponents, interrupting them, slowing down their casting times, punishing them for using abilities etc.
The other day I drafted an amazing shaman deck was 10-0 then faced 3 of the most insane mage decks and finished 10-3...... 2-3 flamestrikes, 4-5 firelands, they were all like that, it's crazy. I had 4 flamewreatheds and 3 fire elementals too. At least i got a pack and 365 gold for 10 wins.
Phoenix Knight No they banned Faceless Summoner, Snowchugger, and Forgotten Torch. Meanwhile Mages everywhere are getting offered 2-4 times an incredibly broken card.
My one 12 win (12-2) run was with Priest about a year and a half ago and it felt so good. It was basically a perfectly balanced FTP priest deck that just out-controlled everything.

I got four wins and went against three mages in a row at one point, all of whom had way better decks. I'm still fucking furious

I wonder if a set of non-collectable arena cards could exist to balance arena out, and encourage people to play arena as that's the only way to play those cards.
In 8v8's in DAOC you also had to kite as a caster, interupt and CC. melee train assisted each other to rip through others melee train or went for casters. a lot of people's problem with that game pvp wise was a steep learning curve on overextending or not learning their class/role in the group properly. Hints why tons of noobs zerged down shit.
