I remember when mark was at xenos in Columbus Ohio. No one was smiling. Xenos turned out to be spiritual abusive church movement. Half the people left. I an encouraged by Mark's teaching. I need this type of encouragement. Please pray for me.

I love the hearts of both of these men - had the honour to meet Sean at a worship intensive some years ago. The topic of healthy family while being passionate for Jesus is a wonderful gift to the church.

Oh, Sleeper, a Christian Heavy Metal band, has such strong warrior messaging in their songs. Micah, the lead vocalist, has such a grasp on the understanding of what believers are supposed to be.
Just to quote a few lines:

Something about Pastor Mark always resonated with me, I guess it's cause I'm "old school" as well. I remember watching him back in 2011-2012 I think preaching at his church in Seattle and admonishing the young men about how wimpy they were and how they were complaining to him all the time about being single, I laughed so hard when he was describing to them how to meet a girl in church. It's one of my favorite clips of him, I showed it to my 2 boys at the time several times.

A lot of times it’s like there’s no one that wants to fight, except the government etc and they just cooly and coldly take away your livelihood and bury you without any fuss. You wind up alone in the octagon, with no one to fight, and then when you step out of the octagon your life is over and you didn’t even get to fight.

We saw that movement happen in the Jesus Revolution movie. One was the evangelist, the other was the one to disciple. I completely agree with this. We need both movements to create lasting change.
Mark Driscoll has offered some great things over the years but his lack of repentance for leadership style and pride about who can lead or advise him is still so clear.
Maybe being strong?! Not everyBODY is back in church. COVID ruined going to church. No pandemic according to CDC now... So they ruined some small churches.

We need this in Canada so badly. My pastor got sued for saying that homosexuality is a sin. Thankfully these people don't have the discipline to follow through with any cohesive argument. So the charges were dropped.

"...The Stupid Governance Structure.." It's called Biblical oversight Mr Driscoll.. but you ran from that after they caught you being abusive and you didn't like the idea of Biblical discipline.
I highly recommend listening to the whole series “the rise and fall of mars hill” on UA-cam, or on your podcast app to see what the real Mark Driscoll is like. Rather than staying at his church and facing disciplinary action, he cut and ran. He is a quitter.
A spirit of cowardice
Our pastors response to to America's founding church is that we have a rebellious spirit and should not go against the govt, in Roman's 13. But then we are too be people of life. Im not sure we are getting any patriotism in our church and many others. Unless its about abortion, very confusing to many so we become apathetic.
I m praying God for Direction... I need to find a safe place in North Ontario or where God Will is for me...
Move out west. We love hardworking Christians. We have to hold our ground or else Canada is lost.
The Christian Universities have sadly turned out these weak Pastors!!! It's been happening for 50 years, they actually go against the Bible!!! When the church refuses to sing "Battle Hymn of the Republic", Onward Christian Soldiers" & etc; that tells me there is a huge Problem!😢😢😢

This sounds a lot like what the Poet Robert Bly was writing back in the 80's-90's in the Men's Movement. People in the Christian Community shunned his poetr as "NewAge".
I recomment his seminal book "Iron John" to men who need to get thier cojones back.

I've prayed Driscolls teachings would finds its way into this segment of Christianity. I think he's spot on, in most of his communication regarding the decline of The Church. From what I've gathered, it seems in part that feminism crept into the Church simultaneously as it did with culture. The Bible is so clear that men lead the charge and even science supports this biblical precedent. When men are men communities flourish. Furthermore history even shows when a civilization embraces homosexuality that civilizations decline came shortly after. We are in a lot more trouble than what I think people perceive. (I feel God has shown us mercy by not allowing transgenderism in sports.)
I'd also have to agree with the prophetic aspect of things. Biblical prophets were so different than our popular prophets. There's almost no repentance in our modern day prophetic voices. (Which is why I don't listen to most of them.) But I do listen to a couple that seem to be spot on and a tad more specific with dates and times that come to pass unlike the popular ones most of us know.
The only thing I'd challenge is the idea on missional and whatever else he said. We are called to GO and make disciples. As an American Christian I have no idea what's up with us. I've been exhausted with the church for the greater part of my salvation. Jesus is the best thing and I'll I want to do is pour into The Church and the lost. But man, the idea that most of us stay inside of the 4 walls is exhausting and not The Church Jesus established in Acts.
Do I think everyone is to be missional? No, but most of us should. And it should be an easy mission like the woman at the Well. It's not necessarily something that you're striving to do, it's just that meeting this man Jesus is so transformative you can't help but to share who He is.
Even many Christians who are "on fire" tend to keep their "fire" indoors. But I also can't blame them, idk how wise it is in this day to go outside with anything less than the book of Acts Power. But I do believe it's there for the taking.
And folks, we hit a major change in history. We are in a lot more trouble than we could imagine and the end times army needs to arise. We can stay inside if we like or seek God for personal revival, so the revival can go out or get smashed by the end times antichrist spirit thats arising to fulfill biblical prophecy. Things are changing. Church is changing.
And Sean, you're doing great work. Never be discouraged. There should be more like you.
God forgive us, have mercy on us for being sent warmers and not giving everything that we have for The Gospel. You are truly the best thing. I'm believing that He's raising people up for the times ahead. Selah.🙏
This is good but Mark does contradict himself a bit. "We need prophets. But not prophets that speak about Trump. But prophets that speak with governmental leaders. All through old testament its Prophets giving insight to good kings and prophets condemning the wicked kings. Prophets always deal at the government level so they have to talk about Trump and Netanyahu. duh

Aw man, I was all in until the prophets were called freaks. There are some wonderful God anointed prophets out there. No, they don’t always look like others. Jesus didn’t look like others. Otherwise this was a great interview. I also am a Q follower.

Mark Driscoll has a very controversial past. I’m disappointed that you have had him on your show. He was asked to leave his church in Seattle after some sketchy behavior.

I agree Charity. I was expecting Sean to confront Mark about the lack of repentance on Mark's behalf or at least ask some probing, critical questions about what happened. The only thing I noticed in the interview about his past was about Mark having 'gone through fire' previously, and that he dislikes church governing boards. I also noticed he used the word healthy way more than necessary. I wonder why he feels the need to emphasize that his current church and family is so healthy?
