Say "fine its an assault rifle, one that is capable of preserving the efficacy of the militia" then mention us vs Miller. If you dont already know us vs Miller is a scotus decision dating back to the 1930s that clearly states that only weapons suitable for military service, or preserving the efficacy of the militia are protected under the second amendment. Its actually the specific reason why sbr and sawed off shotguns require a tax stamp, because at the time no witness was presented to assert that short shotguns and short barreled rifles had been used in war. Yes they have been used in war, but absent a witness to testify as such meant the court had no evidence to corroborate their use in combat. I can't believe that people believe them when they call theAR- 15 a weapon of war . I far as I can find out it has never been issued to any military any where . The AR -15 is the semi -auto version of the m16 , and are hard to tell apart just by a glance ,but are easily recognized by looking at the selector on the lower receiver.
I heard an interview with Geraldo about 30 years ago. About he and his family where sailing around the world. He said he had to by firearms for protection. He stated that there still are pirates out there and he needed to protect himself. At one point in the interview Geraldo stated that there was a suspicious boat following him and he wanted to call the Pentagon and have them fly some fighter jets over the suspicious boat to scare them off. How many people do you know that could make a statement of I will just call the pentagon. I'm sure that those words of owning a gun have been scrub from the internet.

I can't believe that people believe them when they call theAR- 15 a weapon of war . I far as I can find out it has never been issued to any military any where . The AR -15 is the semi -auto version of the m16 , and are hard to tell apart just by a glance ,but are easily recognized by looking at the selector on the lower receiver.

Watching him reminisce about being in a war zone (as a reporter) reminds me of when they sent him home during Desert Storm. The idiot got on network television, and reported on near future plans for troop movements. The generals would probably have preferred to punish him as a soldier would have been for doing the same thing during wartime (possible execution), but they had to settle for sending him home.
