    This is what I did with your zipper pouch videos. I couldn't find placemats that I liked so I made some. The fat quarter fabrics are perfect size and great way to get variety of fabrics

    This is so cool! And really it was like 2 videos in 1! I can’t wait to show this to my daughter! I am sure we will be making placemats for her home and bags for her to take on her anniversary cruise! Thank you for taking the time to teach us how to do things!

    I just love those pioneer placemat bag tutorials but living outside of USA I am unable to purchase the pioneer placemats.. This tutorial is going to help me make those bags and the detailing strip where the zipper goes is something I would not have done if I had just gone ahead and made them without watching this video. Thank you for such a great tutorial.

    just a couple of helpful tips, to avoid the shifting of your fabric during the quilting process you can use a basting glue(if you don't use heat and bond as your interfacing ). or if you do use heat and bond you can cut your fabric about an inch or more bigger than your wanted finished size so if you are shooting for a 14 by 20 then i'd cut your fabric 15 by 21 quilt it then cut it down to size for your mat. but i even just leave mine in the fat quarter size and quilt it that big then cut it down. also some machines have a walking foot and the walking foot has a guide that you can use that will keep you from having to mark lines on your fabric. it's a piece that fits into the back of your walking foot and you run it along the straight line you sew to keep the same distance. my guide will fit right into the back of my pressure foot cause i have a quilters sewing machine edition. you can purchase the guide and walking foot separate and it'll fit any low shank sewing machines. i just got my place mats over the weekend so im' looking foward to making the pouches

    Hi Lorrie, I have a suggestion... where you have left the opening for turning, clip with a scissor the beginning and ending of the opening; this helps when you want to iron the edges....

    Can I sew some quilting lines and if so when do I do that? Been trying to figure out how to use my own material for the placemat part of your bag. Thank you for this.

    If you want a bag, pouch or basket that really stands up nicely, use a product called In-R-Form or In-R-Form Plus by Bosal.

    So glad you made this video! Now I can make my own placements for all the bags you make with Pioneer Women!!! Did you happen to cut any of the material on the Cricut Maker? I realize the the 20” pieces are long, but ...???

    • @LorrieNunemaker
      @LorrieNunemaker  6 років тому

      Dyane Downs no. The only thing that would fit in a Cricut mat are the binding strips and handle

  • @lorenefleming226
    @lorenefleming226 6 років тому +2

    Shortcut. Just sew the long sides as binding will close the short sides.
