What a brilliant and easy project Lorrie! Thanks so much for the tutorial.
Thank you, thank you, thank you sooooooo much for the matte vinyl fuse idea! I’ve been looking for something like this so I can make my candy wrapper zipper pouches! I love you for being so talented and I’m happy you came into my life now! Thanks for everything you share my talented friend!
I made the wavy but kept the wavy on the tops and used a. Velcro circle closure and added a decorative button. Came out so cute
Love this method of making bags so easy. Made three today, two from placemat and one from fabric I created and quilted. Fabulous. thanks and cannot wait to see more.
Love, love, love!! The vinyl iron on lining is a great idea! Your tutorials are the best - so clear and concise. Thank you so much for doing these!! I'm going to try this one.
Love the way you teach and instruct in such an easy learning style! These are so cute! Can’t wait to make one with vinyl lining. Will continue to follow!!!!😀
I wish I had that of that when I made my first ones. When I made my last one I did use a plastic that sewed in. This iron on plastic is fantastic. You are fantastic and a great instructor.
I love to sew, and making tote bags is one of my favorite things to do. BUT, I always have had trouble with zippers! Thanks for your examples and for your darling ideas!
Thank you for the great tutorials. I am pretty new to sewing etc but I did just make one of these bags. I also added the iron on vinyl to the inside. Now this is my very first one and I am pretty happy with it. I'm certain going forward I will get much better!
Lorrie I love your tutorials, you explain everything so clearly.Thank You for taking the time for showing us. I am attempting three of the bags for my Daughter and for my two Daughter in laws for Mother gifts.Hopefully they turn out and I can show you a picture after I'm done.Thank You again 😊
These are so cute! I've been making a Walker Hanging Bag from a free pattern at Embroidery Garden but adapting it and these bags would make a perfect compliment.
What a great addition to a beach bag to take wet bathing suits home
I saw your video and jumped at Walmart to buy some placemats. Just finished one! Sooooo cute
I made this at a recent quilt retreat in Florida. Some of the ladies saw me make it and later I found out made them also. Thank you Lorrie for the awesome video. I used the same placemat, but in reverse.
Love this idea. Made 3 so far and gave them as a gift. They say they loved it. Thank you. I will keep looking for more Ideas from you. Easy is great. Keep up the good work.
I love this. I made a version of it keeping the scallop on the top, straight sides and I did a flap with a fun button/loop closure on the top flap.
Same here
Love your videos. They are easy for me to follow. Thank you so much!I have 4 granddaughters and 4 grandsons as well ! Sometimes I can't afford to buy everybody gifts for Christmas due to I live off of a low income. I am so grateful that you made this videos!God bless you for helping us Grannies!
Your tutorials are great and so easy to follow. I have made several of your bags and love all of them. Thanks so much.
Lorrie, you are a natural at creative ideas and simplicity in sewing. You make complex things look simple. If only I had started with your ideas rather than having to be “perfect” when my Italian aunt hovered over me! I have mainly sewn with knits because they don’t ravel and hence are quicker to make, so your techniques intrigue me. Love it that you are a “novice” and yet do things so beautifully. I owned a fabric store for ten years and would have loved to had your ideas to help people and young people develop an interest in sewing with these simple but quick projects!
These bag tutorials are so cute! Especially with the Pioneer Woman’s items!
I really enjoy watching your youtube tutorials. Keep them coming.
You’re amazing!! I’ve made a couple of your bags!! You make it not only look easy, but your teaching truly do make it easy! You’re my hero!,
Just finished two of the boxed bags. Perfect. As an avid sewer I wanted to give you a hint. My placemats had a wavy edge. What I did was to cut the edge off and bind it as you would an edge of a quilt. That was you have a completely finished edge and it looks nicer that the one on the raw edge (I have done many of those in the past). As for the sides, you can finishes as per the video, just make sure that you are in far enough when you stitch. The inside looks nice and even has a scalloped edge to the inside. Thanks for you videos.
I just got done watching you sew the makeup bag! I can’t wait to try it!!! You are a very good teacher!!! Enjoyed this very much!!!
Thank you for the tutorial. I have made a few and love the results. Please keep the tutorials coming. Love your work.
Love all your videos... you give great easy to follow instructions....THANK YOU!
Great idea! I'm going to make these for my small group of quilting friends for Christmas and fill them with fabrics and notions!
I made the bag keeping the scalloped edges. I bought matching napkins and cut it into 2 strips and added the zipper to it then added the napkin just under the scalloped edge. I did some extra top stitching on the quilted bag near the napkin. I just love seeing the scalloped edge of the bag.
Love how quick and easy the pouch is. Can't wait to make one.!!!!!
Lorrie, I don't know if you check old video comments but this one is great! I didn't know there was fusable waterproof vinyl! I'm starting my first project tonight. I'm back to sewing which I love!
Love these. They are such good beginner projects. They’re easy and look soooo good and useful
Made a bag tonight from other tutorial, getting the vinyl to make another tomorrow. Instructions are superb!

FANTASTIC TUTORIAL! I see you have many videos I want to see so I subscribed on this first one because of your sewing skills, editing skills and likeability! Thank you for your time making videos!
Wonderful idea. I’m new at sewing and will try this. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
love your tutorials. thank you for all the tips and tricks
I used the scalloped placemat the other day to make an envelope pouch. I lined up the scallops so they matched so the size was kind of predetermined for me but it turned out very cute! I wanted both sides of the placement to show so I cut off approximately a third of the bottom and flipped it over and sewed it across the bottom width wise and turned down the top and used fabric Velcro to close it.

Love this idea! Making these for teacher gifts. I will post and tag. Awesome job!
Thank you for the tutorial. I have never seen the iron protective that you used. I for sure will be purchasing some of that. Have a blessed day.
Genius!! I'm loving these bags :) Can't wait to make a few for Christmas presents.
This was so cool, and easy to follow. Thanks Lorrie. This will be my Spring Break craft project.
You are great. Thank you for your time. You make sewing so much funand you address the steps very clearly. Thanks again.
Nice. I made a bag with the scalloped edge but did NOT cut edge off - folded it over! Gave a two-toned color effect on outside and showed off the scallops. I used two lines of top stitching on zipper: one edge-stitched and second line 1/4” away. Made edge behave and looks good. Pic on my FB Page. The long wavy edges were trimmed by the serger as side seams were stitched.
This is amazing!! Thanks so much for sharing this idea and putting it in a tutorial. I am a beginner sewer and have just discovered your channel. I have subscribed and I see myself learning a lot from you. Thank you!

Awesome tutorial! Running out to Walmart tomorrow!
Love it! Can't wait to make one. Thank You
I had to revisit this pattern again because I might make a bunch of them for my women's retreat this fall. I want each person to have the date and location so I think I'll embroider the info on there. I'm contemplating which bag to make and I think this would be easier considering the volume and embroidery to show.
Great project and easy to understand instructions :)
Thanks!!!
Love these bags I’ve made two and every one went crazy for them. I’m trying to find the teal placemat that’s not quilted with red flowers shown at the 18:52 mark. Where did u find that one at please?
