Chris and all, thank you for finding time to get together and make a great video. I really felt like i was there, we all share a passion for making firewood. Helping people bring warmth and light into their homes - this is what unites us! Thank you, Beaverton Family Firewood
Tony I really like my AXIS with the electric starter. It took 18 months to get it, and when it arrived May of 2023 ~ it was love at first sight! LOL I am fortunate to have a Box store splitter I bought used (Troy-built) and it has a Honda 270 GX engine....I due love that engine also so I can relate to what your feelin'. Lastly, I have six of the nine Tools for the woodyard....Thanks Chris, this is where my retirement is leading too! Hahaha!!! Keith aka Cowboy Joy!
I can’t wait to get my Eastonmade Ultra. I’m using a CountyLine 27 ton right now for my first one ever to start my firewood business. I plan on moving into the Axis a year or two later after the Ultra.
Yeah I can't wait to get a ultra probably a year maybe two, till then I'm stuck with the box store, but I'm fine with humble beginnings on mine ,but I can't wait.lol
Good morning guys. Eastonmade a game changer. I for one has owned my 12-22 for 3 years. A one man firewood producer , owning this machine no disappointments serious production gains. Cheers everyone.👌🏻🔥🇨🇦
I'm out of town for Hoosier cutting day. I've helped a minister friend there feed vets in September. Should be a cool spot to do the splitting. Nice video

Hi Logger Al. Surgery went great. I am under strict restrictions. Can only lift a fork and spoon. No running, playing or jumping. The difference is incredible. I am seeing things I never knew existed. Left eye will be fixed on March 13. This is the most amazing thing I have ever experienced. The colors, crispness and detail is like looking through an electron microscope.
@InTheWoodyard I have freckles on my arms that I never saw before. I also know what a real eight inches looks like on a tape measure. I always wondered why the text on my phone was a light grey on a white background. Today I discovered the text is a very crisp black.
My splitter just got welded Should have it in week or two. It not a Eastonmade but a commercial grade splitter. Can’t wait to get it. I don’t do ton wood. I definitely don’t have tons of time so time is important. Great video guys.
Whens the Wisconsin woodhound demo day at the woodyard or at a fairgrounds or even at our sawmill. Lots of firewood UA-camrs in WI and metsa/japa and wolf ridge. Id bring my supersplit hd and my brother could bring his woodmizerLT35 full hydraulic to demo sawing 2 cedar logs at once and mill big walnut logs. Even bring our iron mule. Could also do it at our farm/ sawmill bc we have thousands of logs piled up already. Could even demo firewood processors, splitters, chippers chipping slabwood and running our board edger.
Good to see you all together. Lots of info. I will be at the Hoosier firewood event with a Timberwolf TW-1. Hope I can find someone to feed my splitter. I am a veteran Air Force firefighter 1970-74. Which hotel are you at Chris?

Good stuff fellas! You can’t go wrong with any of the commercial grade splitters! I guess I will need to order one since I will be 50 in a couple years🤣 HFH 2024!!!! I was there last year and I won’t miss another one! Can’t wait for the fellowship. Take care fellas👍🏻👍🏻GNI
Chris, have You's seen the Whiland Rex 600c processor? They're an awesome splitter. Eats big wood and no need for the ultra. It also has 6 second cycle time.
My family is 6/7 generations of loggers, and I always remember them talking about all of the diesel engines having a hard time starting in cold weather. Is that still true?
Freedom First!! A hearty thank you to all the soldiers who have or are actively defending our God given rights. Looking forward to meeting you all at HFH2024. I just paid for my Axis yesterday and I pick it up in Perth on April 15th. See you all on setup day! Stacey A. Weston
I’d buy an Eastonmade if they used Honda engines. They are great machines but I’m a Honda guy so I’d buy a Wolfridge when I’m ready to pull the trigger. Both top quality machines.
@@InTheWoodyard Or Eastonmade could offer both engines…I bet 99% would want the Honda. Honda small engines are The Standard. I lust after a high end vertical splitter….total game changer for bundle size wood.
Why is everybody in such a hurry to split their firewood? I enjoy my time being in the woodyard and if I get all the wood split. What will I do then? Watch more UA-cam?🤠 I wish there were more good options of splitters, in the market between box store and these industrial type splitters.👍👍
Wayne. I had the same feelings until I found the Split-Fire 2265 with log lift. I’ve had box store splitters for 40 years but bought one of these last year. Commercial quality at a semi reasonable price. I love the bi directional splitting, no need to pull the wood back. Super fast, I run it on half throttle most of the time. Easy to move around too. I’ve split 36 inch logs on it.
Chris at the end you panned the snowblower(?) that said "FarTKing" brand then you panned to Bert. Was that telling us something? LMAO Enjoyed the video.

I just said goodbye to a dog of 15 years a week ago. That was a bad day.. in more ways then I need to type out. Just reminds me I'm not getting any younger.
I don't doubt this is good equipment, just hard to get the math to work for a $13k splitter when selling part time. I also have some concerns that the price and demand of splitters will fall when all the Ash trees are gone.

Yes they are!
My 22/28 is one heck of a machine. Best investment I’ve made beside my loader mount splitter.

Nice round table discussion type video 👍
Glad you liked it!
My family is 6/7 generations of loggers, and I always remember them talking about all of the diesel engines having a hard time starting in cold weather. Is that still true?
Much better today but they still do not start as easily as a new gas engine.
Yes but they are much better now.
Going to be a great time at the HFH. Looking forward to going and might even bring the Brute Force along with.
Cool!
More in-depth than the Middle East peace talks, enjoyed the discussion! The sticker placement at the end, Berts work? 🇺🇸
Nope, that was someone else's handy work when he was there last.
Thanks, I put that on Tonys equipment a year ago and he never even noticed!
What's Tony brewing in the back ground chris
I do not know.
@@InTheWoodyard it’s hard apple cider! 👍TCT
I would love to see a race with horizontal versus vertical splitter ! It would be interesting, to compare waste, fatigue...
Go to firewood on the hill, he just did a comparison between his 2 machines. A vertical versus a horizontal machine
yup
I think the splitter i got only came with an electric start. 😉👍
Nice to turn a key!
Nice job everyone. Can’t decide if I will make firewood or go fishing today. GNI
I would do both! 1/2 &1/2!
I know there are comparison videos out there, but I'm too lazy to search. How fast can one guy split a face cord with an Ultra?
If the rounds are right next to the splitter 15 minutes. It is easy for one man to split a full cord an hour.
@InTheWoodyard I find that hard to believe if you're talking smaller splits.
Tacos, gum, and bottled water for everyone.
I am on restricted activities, as I had successful eye surgery yesterday.
Creek water...no fancy schmancy bottled water for us! Heal well!
Nice discussion, I like Tony’s splitter, but it’s bigger and harder to move unless you have a tractor, like you both have.😊

When I was young, I split with a maul. Elm was only done in temps 10 and below Fahrenheit.
Yup, me too!
I see a glass carboy fermenting in the back with an airlock. Who has what brewing?
I do not know? I did not ask, I figured it was none of my business.
@InTheWoodyard for a few years I had some stuff fermenting. Mostly cider and mead.
Nicolas it’s hard cider that probably will be distilled at some point.👍TCT
