Your videos have been amazing for a first-builder like me. Unlike other channels, you explain the part selection process in understandable terms, instead of throwing big words and letters around.
Thank you for the feedback! That means so much to us.
@@PCBuilderChannel What is the best bang for the buck Air cooler for socket 1700?
Hi Jason, I'm doing my own prebuild myself and really appreciate pointing out that what ever i513600k or 1300kf is cheaper. Saved me about 25.00. Thanks for all the value you put into your videos!
Glad to help!
7:00 The best advice I've heard. A slap of reality that I don't need to jump to DDR5. Thanks Jason! I'll probably need your advice again soon (boost my pc build).
So glad we could help! I see a lot of people overspending in that department
Thanks, this was eye opening! I'm looking to build my first pc in 10 years and was obviously over doing it in a few places. Especially going for DDR4 and a Z690 save quite a bit.
the amount of effort, care and enthusiasm you put in your videos is astonishing. from time stamps to tiny details that people with ocd like me care about. s-tier contnet. thank you
you deserve much more subs
Thank you so much, we appreciate your support! Thank you for watching :)
Thank you for all of your sane content. I love that you focus on practicality rather than the most expensive thing you can possibly build. I've been thinking about upgrading from the Skylake machine I built several years ago and you've given me a lot of food for thought.
Glad we could help!
@@PCBuilderChannel So can this cpu run a ddr 6000 ? Because in the intel specs website it says that the max speed that this cpu could run is 5600. I am stuck there in neither should I pick a 6000 or a 5600
The last desktop PC I built had a i7-3930K. It will be nice to see what a modern machine can do. Almost went with DDR5, but upon comparing price and benchmarks, DDR4 still made sense.. Especially since I'm looking to max out the memory 128GB. Thanks for the info.
So glad we could help!
Yeah. Ddr5 would be nice, but I can't justify it. It would just he a future proofing thing and by the time I'd feel the need to get it, I'd just be getting a new processor anyways most likely.
Hey I really love your videos and have been watching them while trying to select out my first build.
It might be cool to see essentially the same thing but lock in the 13600k and swap out the GPUs/boards/RAM in the same way, budget, professional, gamer.
Great resource, thanks for all the hard work and info you share!
This is exactly what I was looking for! Simple and informative. Thank you. You earned a sub ❤
So glad you enjoyed! Thank you for the sub
In 2022 most gamers rated the i5 12400 to be the best performance to price. Been conflicted on MBs, but I think the one you mentioned would do well. Paired with the RX 6700 XT or 6750 XT was what I was thinking or going with the 7600 that was just released. 32gbs of ddr4 at 3200 and a 750-850w semi to fully modular PSU seems straight. Think this is a pretty decent mid level 1440p experience that has room to upgrade. Get frustrated with case selection though. And PSUs are very expensive right now. But that MB selection seems great. I hate having to upgrade MBs, as it requires taking everything apart.
I love this video. I was doing about a month of research before buing my setup and its really simillar to your recomendation. You also talk about all the important things and the recomended paring is just fire
Your videos are amazing for first-builders and non experimented people, it's been 3 weeks that I watch videos daily and look for what AIO to use, what MB etc. and that's the first time I have a simple and clear answer... I went here just to know what MB I needed and you told me everything I needed and should have known xD Thanks a lot, your work is astonishing, not and never less.
So glad its helpful! Thank you for watching and best wishes on your build!
Another great video! Intel builds are right up my alley nowadays. Thanks, Mister J!
Thank you!! Hope you are having a good week!
This was the exact video I was waiting for. I am doing my first build and was going to buy 12600k but I couldn't justify for the price. This just reiterate my thoughts. Pulled the trigger on a 13600k after watching. Also helped me on my choice for psu. Was going to get a 6800xt paired with this CPU so I was going to get 850 but this has opened my mind to a full 1000 watt psu.
So glad we could help!!! And you can head over to our Best PSU 2022 video to follow the method there to double check what you need for PSU
That combo won't even need 600W. Honestly I don't even think you'd need 1000 for a 4090 with a 13600k.
@@s1mph0ny I agree. I used two separate online PSU calculators and at most was a 750. None of the results said 1000 watts at least based on my findings.
With the cost jump from 850w to 1000w being about 20$ I would gladly take the extra overhead to ensure all my future upgrades will get sufficient and clean power.
Minimum 750 w maximum 850 watt psu is enough
You're in-depth reviews, guides and recommendations are amazing, thank you for the work... as a PC "noob" it's really helpful.
That's great to hear! So glad we could help and thanks for the feedback
Thanks for reviewing, Just did my storage a week ago (20 TB so like 27 total I feel much less anxiety). Just but either I wait for the new X3D or see what deals Black Friday/Cyber Monday brings. I really did have much anxiety about running out of room before. Though I want to hit the CPU next likely in the next upgrade.
this video is highly relevant to my interests! either later this month for the black friday deals or next month for the xmas season i plan on a 13600 + 3080 + ddr5 build. with a $2000-$2400 budget i have been figuring out which case/mobo/cpu cooler to go with. (edit: as well i am not sure if i want to piece it together myself or order a prebuilt, thus the variance in budget) thanks for the content, i am eating it up right now!
You can do much better with that budget
@@nikhilabi2230 i agree id wait for rdna 3 or 4080
@@nikhilabi2230 i definitely should have clarified that my budget numbers at the low end was from a pcpartpicker list and the higher end was essentially the same or comparable parts as a prebuilt/si purchase.
because for me the eternal struggle is whether or not i want to spend the time and effort of waiting for all of the individual parts to arrive from different sources and then putting it all together vs having one thing arrive that is essentially plug and play.
Got a 3090ti for 1000$.Should be able to get better than a 3080
Glad we could help! I'd take the money you are planing to spend on ddr5 and put it into upgrading your GPU though. It will get you way more performance
Just a quick note, you really want the Gigabyte z690 Gaming X (V2). Its about $10 more if you can find it and its MUCH more stable for RAM over 3600 and has even better VRMs. V2 easily does DDR4000 cl16 where as the non V2 is not stable over 3600 which is why a V2 was sneakily released!
would this be good as i want to put corsair vengeance lpx 2x16 4000 cl18 in it ? thanks
Bruhh thankkk youuuuuu !! I’ve been waiting for you to make this video so I could build this pc for Black Friday and cyber Monday
Awesome! Glad we could help!
Excellent review and summary of the recommended parts for an i5-13600k build. I found this extremely helpful. So glad I came across this review. Thanks.
Glad I could help! Thank you for watching!
My i5-9600K was struggling to max out my 3070 in a lot of situations. And the 1% low fps was not always good. The turning point was Spider-Man Remastered where the 9600K was loading the GPU below 70%. Last week, I upgraded my system for a 13600K. Now, in every games and situations, the 13600K is maxing out the 3070. And it's so much smoother.
For anyone looking fot this kind of combo, I strongly recommend going with DDR5. I bought a cheap 5200 CL38 kit from XPG. I will probably recycle it in another system in 1 or 2 years so I can buy a better kit at a reasonable price.
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing
the 13600k is an absolute monster
What motherboard did you use?
@@enmanuellopeztaveras2915 Sorry I'm late on this one; Gigabyte Gaming X Z690 DDR5.
Love your videos, very helpful. When do you think you’ll be putting out a video for black Friday sales? Especially mid range for a hybrid productivity/gaming rig?
As soon as we start seeing deals we will start posting them with community posts and on twitter @pcbuilderjason. We plan to start dedicated Black Friday videos on the 19th but that's subject to the deals of course (;
@@PCBuilderChannel Thank you I’ll be watching for your videos
dude, youre literally solving every single question I ask to myself into 20 minutes videos. Im starting to suspect you can read our minds lol. Thanks alot for the content. Just awesome the specific and acurate they are. GZ!
Thanks so much for the feedback, so glad you got all your questions answered! The power of the PC Building mind :)
Omg, my brain never felt this fluid before. You make everything so easy to understand!
Love to hear it, thank you for watching!
Thank you very much! I am learning a lot since I watch your videos! I plan to use a 13700KF with a rtx 4080. Picking case and AIO is driving me crazy. I want a better refrigeration (maybe 280-360mm) but in order to mount it on the top, it would need a bigger case, do you think it is really needed? What do you think is the smartest AIO + Case combination for this build? I really appreciate your work.
The integrated video on the K CPUs isn't just for content providers. It is extremely useful when setting up your PC and it's great for an additional monitor (I've got 4). Also, sometimes, oddly, the K is cheaper than the KF due to sales. For instance I got an i5-10600K for $200 years ago but the KF was $230. As always your mileage may vary.
And Diagnose hardware problems. iGPU is a must! Saves you so much needlessly headache.
Good point. My NVIDIA card only has one HDMI port and while waiting for a displayport cable to arrive I hooked my other monitor to the iGPU.
why do you need 4?
@@vacakgagyi5248 I'm a developer, I do content creation, and I also game. All the monitors are useful for different things in each use case. For gaming I normally use three (game, guide, UA-cam/Spotify), but I often use all four for work (dev, test output/deployment, virtual machines monitoring, and the website I'm working on).
@@BravoSixGoingDark I've literally never had to use the igpu, ever.
God, what a explanation. You really made it easy to decide which components to buy for gaming pc.
Thanks to you 🙏🏽

It's bad luck not to have a black cat in a video.

Oh you mean a BEM BEM! Thats my black kitties name!
Lmao
I see them at 11:00😊
No..? Where would he even get a black cat
Perfect time

Hope you enjoy!
Went ahead and got almost the exact premium 13600k build after watching. Very informative video!
Hope you love it! Thanks for watching
I'm always curios about 4K streaming as DDR5 might see a benefit on that scenario...
CPU might show low usage during this things but memory does some extra job rendering those encoders for the game, camera and others things.
Also how it might impact loading of heavy textures on real-time scenarios like using a speed-hack and running all around an open world at 4K (Horizon Dawn, GTA, etc...)
thank you for the all the info! how relatable this can be for an i7 13700k + 4080 build? In terms of mobo/psu/cooling? I am new to PC building things, but looking for upgrade... pretty much learning everything from youtube and your channel in top-3 most watched for sure ^^ thanks once again
Thats also a good combo, only thing I would change from this list is to bump up the cooling with a high end AIO or highest end Air
@@PCBuilderChannel thanks! I guess noctua NH D15 will be enough
How much is the price of your build going to be? I created a build similar with a 3080 and 850w psu and a aio cooling and it’s ranging to 2100. Surely yours will be much higher because you can’t cheap out on the other parts
@@biggbodyyy1018 hard to say yet, because I don't know how much 4080 will cost in my country

Hello Jason!
Firstly, thank you for providing such relevant and educative information on the daily.
Currently, I am building myself a new PC, and have already pruchased a 6800 XT, 13600KF, Z690 Gaming X DDR5, Kingston Fury Beast 5200 2x16GB CL40, Pure Power 11 1000W, KC3000 1GB,AK620 and the Thermaltake v350.
Can you please advise if there is anything I have overlooked and can improve in this?
Also, I have seen the argument that even CL36 or CL40 DDR5 Ram, which has worse timings preforms better than current fast DDR4, what is your take on this?
Keep up the good work, and thank you for everything you are providing for free.
Cheers!
For the Memory query check out Hardware Unboxed's video on Memory Scaling which dropped recently.
It depends on your application and how sensitive it is to RAM latency vs bandwidth. For example, DDR4-3200 CL16/DDR4-3600 CL18 provide ~50GB/s of bandwidth with 10ns latency. Your DDR5-5200 CL40 provides ~81GB/s with 15ns latency.
What are your applications? Some workloads such as Excel, 7zip/WinRAR, code compilation and some games love the extra bandwidth DDR5 gives them and care little for latency. But some latency sensitive games might not react so well (however Raptop Lake's improved caches can mitigate this somewhat).
@@kirby0louise Thank you for your information, I have seen that the DDR5 Ram responds differently for different type of tasks, but in newer games the performance seems present.
I can understand the login behind people who stick with DDR4, as when I decided to use the 13600KF I decided to leave myself space for "Future Proofing", but as Jason said, most likely by the time I need the upgrade, I do not think the better Ram will make a difference, but the DDR5 memory slot might, who knows.
Thank you for your comment nontheless.
Cheers!
THank you for all your hard work you're my #1 go to pc builder channelg that gives solid advice !
Appreciate that thank you!!
Just found your channel and planning on building a new computer, although the price part is off for me seeing i live in a different country, everything else has been really helpful!!! also the are nice to watch 🙂
So glad we could help! Best wishes on your build!
I was aiming for 5800x3d but 13600k blew 5800x3d in most aspects. Lower power draw on gaming than 5800x3d, higher power draw by 33% on productivity But it's 50% faster. So it's a good trade. It even run structural computation COMSOL (I'm a civil engineer) nearly twice faster than 5800x3d.
And value wise, the platform cost is almost the same with ddr4. As a value builder Intel really won this time imo. 7000series forcing ddr5 is a big reason to leave amd and go for intel this year.
I was amd fanboy but the pandemic made me realize every brand is evil LOL. Made me realize to not be a fanboy and just get the good tech with good value!
Well said!! Glad you got what you needed!
Good info. Thanks.
If you're already invested into the AM4 platform then the 5800X3D makes a lot more sense as a solid upgrade that will last you at least 3 years. If you already have an LGA1700 CPU and motherboard then the 13600K is your new best friend.
@@Niranjan_Mavath_ALT and if you are coming from an i5 3570k what would u do? amd or intel? or wait for something?
i wanna upgrade soon
Same here mate. Was about to go for 5800X3D from a 5600X for my 3080. Glad I hold for intel 13th gen launch. Since DDR5 prices are nuts and performance it's not that different I'm going for DDR4. AMD served me well but 7000 implying move to DDR5 is just a no. Same aswell for Nvidia RTX4000 forcing to deal with new connector, case and temps.. forget it. Only thing I'm concerned about it's the cooler for the i5 13600K since I have a Masterliquid 360ML from CoolerMaster I'll need to buy new bracket for the 1700 Socket.
Did a build around this chip and a 3080ti/DDR5. I'll just say, be careful about what z690 board you buy, as unless you have access to a 12th gen Intel chip, make sure you have Bios flashback. I had an Asus Tuf Gaming z690 that I had to take to a local computer store because my comp wouldn't boot into Bios since it couldn't recognize the CPU. Just a heads up for anyone looking to save on a Z690 and go 13th gen intel.
Yes good tip!
@@PCBuilderChannel Are there no Z690's that come ready for 13th gen out of the box?
@@PatrickMoog Not yet, only Z790s are at the moment. You need to flash the bios with any 600 series motherboards.
How do you flash bios?
@@jerstah If you have a capable Motherboard, their should be a button on the Motherboard and a dedicated USB port which you download the required version of the Bios for you Motherboard. Insert the USB key and press the bios flashback button. Sometimes its just two pins you'd have to jump with a screwdriver (or a small metal object you hold near it). Tons of UA-cam videos on this.

Hi Jason. Love your content.
I'm playing mostly DCS World and some MS FS2020 (so both flight sim) and I'm planning to get the RX 7900 XTX when it launches. I wonder what CPU I should pair with this. Today I have the i7 8700 and I play in 3440 x 1440 on a RTX 3080. From all the test I read and watch it seems like the CPU will almost never be a bottleneck for games. Could I just as well go with a Ryzen 5600X for this setup? Unfortunately we rarely see DCS tested and in this sim-world there is a lot of stuff going on which is not necessarily shown on the screen, but needs to be calculated so maybe this is a more CPU intensive game? That said with the 3080 my current CPU seems quite relaxed...
The "k" variant is often $10 or less in additional cost to the non-k. Just get the K. If you ever have a GPU issue, with a K, you can troubleshoot and limp along. Without the k, you are dead in the water.
Can we get a "best cases for 2022" video? For me, cases are a tough one, some have better airflow, some are better for modding, others are simply just good looking... Given the quality of your videos, It would be great to see your opinion on some of your favorite PC cases for 2022.

I think I did the right thing, my only worry is the 750w Corsair paired with a 1080ti which I am reusing until Q1 2023 (not sure what GPU to get), but I think I should be ok.
Worst case I can limit something until I get a beefier suuply.
Did u have any problems with the 750watt psu?
I greatly appreciate the input on ddr4 vs ddr5. I've been battling this choice for a few weeks now. At this time, I'm still going z790 ddr5, because Im too scared to flash the bios on a 690, and I've read that 13th gen runs 30-50% slower on 690s. Could just be a tactic to buy 700 series board, but nonetheless. And I'm opting for a 5200 or 5600 16gb ddr5 kit. Pricing I've found is between 90-120$. I'm going to do that and in a year or so, if the pricing comes down, I'll upgrade kits. 16gb should suffice.
16gb is not sufficed
@@orkhepaj LOL oh 16gb for most is fine, right?
@@ArachnidGoat nah
@@ArachnidGoat nah 16gb is not enough anymore. Time to move to 32gb
I'd go with 32GB 5200 which you should be able to find for $160 or so.
Good z690s run the CPUs at full speed and flashing the bios is trivial if the mb has a dedicated USB slot for it. You just copy a file and push a button. I have a 13th gen i5 and Tomahawk z690 working happily here.
Still can’t decide between these three cpu choices for my new build. They all have their downsides. Almost seems best to go with the dead end AM4 5800x3d build for gaming since even the 7600x build’s motherboard would need to be replaced for better DDR5 in the future.
I’m in the same situation except I’m building all new from nothing. I’m thinking about going AM5 w/ 7600x and ddr5 so I’ll have more flexibility in the future if I want. but the AM4 with 58003dx with ddr4 would be enough for my gaming wants. 4k gaming is all I’d like but could settle for 1440 if the cost difference was over 1.5k
You might want to check out our CPU Market Update video from yesterday, it might help you decide
Thanks man, you have solved almost all of my problems.
We love to hear it! Glad we could help (:
oh man this video helped a lot, I've been banging my head all day Sunday speccing a gaming PC.

So glad we could help! Hello Beirut!
@@PCBuilderChannel thanks you for replying. Also i saw that you helped the people affected by the latest earthquake in Turkey and you donated to the food banks. We were woken up by the quake at 3 am and it was a horrifying experience even though we’re 400 miles away.
I also just subbed to your channel, i finally specced my PC and i’m gonna get it this weekend, spent way over my 1200$ budget😬. Thanks again.
Just did a i5-13600K build after watching previous videos. I went for a 1000W power supply for future GPU upgradeability in mind (bought a used 2080 Super for $300 to start with). I did go with DDR5 on a z690 motherboard as I thought it might have benefits in video editing and also got K for the iGPU. I got very high scores in a benchmark for Vegas Pro with this combination and for a total cost of about $1800 US. I will pick up a second m2 drive when prices come down to keep cache and swap files off the main hard drive.
1600 is dirt cheap. Link the build?
@@kekeke8988 I posted twice links to PCPartPicker but they got deleted. It's not an affiliate link for me or anything.
All the parts were high quality. I got a used z690 Tomahawk from Amazon Warehouse but it was like new. There's a Hynix P41 2TB drive on sale now which would make this build even cheaper today. Corsair 1000W cooler. Lian Li II Mesh case, Corsair Vengeance ram 5200 (64GB).
I disagree with the b660 mb, there are a few that are around 100$ less than the cheapest z690 and z790 that can easily handle this cpu, also nowadays overclocking is not worth it and overclocking this CPU better that what turbo boost can do is pretty hard even with some experience. The only reason I would recommend a z690 o z790 is because of more PCI lanes and USB, but even like that, premium b660 mb that cost the same as entry level z690 or z790 usually have the same specs on ports and PCI but premium b660 have more features like premium audio, wifi, Bluetooth. I like your videos since you always make good recommendations, but this time I think you made a huge mistake with b660 mb
This is what I've been waiting for. :) thank you!!!
So glad you enjoyed!
Great video for me to build my new pc.
Any recommendation on ITX motherboard for Intel i5 13600K?
Thanks for all your awesome videos, thanks to you I was able to decide on my new system.
This is my new setup:
Case: - Cooler Master MasterBox MB530P
Motherboard: - MSI MPG Z690 EDGE WIFI
CPU: - Intel Core i5 13600KF - 3,5Ghz
Memory: - Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 32GB(3600Mhz) White
SSD: - Samsung 980 PRO 1TB (M.2)
GPU: - AMD RADEON RX 6800 XT 16GB
CPU cooler: -- Cooler Master Hyper H410R RGB
Any toughts? :)
Cheers!
For me personally, I've found that one terabyte of memory just doesn't cut it anymore given all of the games I like to play. And considering that games nowadays take up a lot of space. Anyone else feel this way?
Yes, In true data and game hoarder fashion likely am migrating games from 1 tb to 20tb. Main game I play is 96.3 Gb across all versions, so they are 4k file size or larger. The older titles aren't as bad though as far as hogging space. I moved games from 3 tb hdd to 1 tb next they will go on the larger one with perhaps the 1 tb as backup. Friend of mine years ago had 2 tb ssd for all his games, so I probably should have planned similarly. It's more about archival and being able to play whatever, than my actually playing the library. Have about 27 tb of storage now, not having room for whatever was giving me anxiety so horribly.
I agree most definitely with that. Need at least 2 T.
Great explanation, will be coming back here Winter 2023 when intel 14th gen and amd 8000 build. Also subscribed and thumbs up. Needed these type of explanation since its been 14 yrs since last build.
Glad you found us and thanks for the sub! Best wishes on your new build!
not only these videos answer the right questions accurately but we even get to see a cat time to time !
Glad you're enjoying them! He's the true star of the channel :)
About the PSU's, I know your builds are pretty much revolved around 1.5x the power, but I've seen many other builds, with more power hungry components with smaller psu's, like an i7 13700k with an rtx 3080 and an 850W PSU, and it seemed to be fine. Is it actually fine or not?
I would say its not worth the risk but that's entirely up to you. See our Best PSU 2022 video for more
I’m running a 13600k @ 5.3Ghz and an overclocked 3080 ftw3 (triple 8 pin connectors) with a 750w Evga supernova G2 from 2015. Max benchmarking load is ~600w. With no issues.
I think it’s possible to run a lower wattage power supply, just make sure it’s a quality one (this PSU was rated very highly in it’s time)
I had a 5600X and a 3080, my computer shut off a couple times with a 850 watt psu. It was a good seasonic one as well. Switched to 1000 watt EVGA and have had no problems. (now with 5800X3D)
@@Kona5.0 well I was looking towards getting the msi mpg a850gf which is a tier rated so I don't know what to do
@@l2p200iqPlays i think it’s also helpful to get a single rail psu from what ive read when ur using high wattage components
Wasn't there some information that came out that a Z690 mobo can make a 13th gen cpu lose up to 20% preformance?
DDR5 is starting to see a noticeable fps gain over DDR4 in some games too so it's definitely beginning to settle in.
I guess if you have the extra cash to splooge go for z790 + ddr5 but if you wanna save like 200-400bucks go for ddr4 z690.
Not on good MBs, research them before you buy. I'm happy with my z690 MSI Tomahawk DDR5 an 13600K.
@@rsmith02 "research them before you buy"
Lmao i did by watching a video where some z690's were causing the 13th gen cpus to lose performance.
But it dont matter, i went with the gigabyte z790 elite ax and 13700k. works flawlessly
please help, does the ASUS Prime Z790-P or the MSI Pro Z790A have bios flashback? I couldn't find anything online.
would you recommend a 850W PSU on a 7900XTX with a intel 5 12600k without a water cooler or should i get more Watt ?
HAHA intel is out of my price range
really that is kinda suprising
12400 is cheap and very good.
Hope we get some cheaper prices on black friday

Great vid as always! Unfortunately (and fortunately as I'm lucky to try and build a pc) I bought the **Gigabyte Gaming OC Pro 3060-ti** half a year ago, but I still intend to pair it with a i5-13600k for both gaming and productivity-
I can always upgrade the gpu whenever I feel like it so I'm happy either way.
Glad you enjoyed! Prices are coming down on GPUs so hopefully you can upgrade the GPU to match your awesome new CPU soon.
Great channel, great info and perfect to direct me into the perfect build! I'm watching!!
Thanks for the great feedback! Glad you enjoyed (:
This is exactly the video I was waiting for!! Ty so much
Awesome! Hope it was helpful!
@@PCBuilderChannel It was! specially your recommendation on motherboards since at least in my country the only ones available are overpriced ASUS or MSIs z690s, and if you want to buy them from other country any purchase over $200 is heavily taxed, so the ones you recommended even with shipping costs included actually are 70% of the cost of worse MBs here lol
@PC Builder Could you please provide a source to your claim about B660 boards not running 13th gen CPU's at their correct boosted frequency? I'm just curious..
Hey Jason! This is just what I needed! I did skew a bit from your builds a bit but only cause I managed a really really good deal up here in Canada. I have a 13600kf paired with a Asus z790 prime, managed to score a corsair ddr5 6000mhz also at a reduced price. Just awaiting black Friday for a psu and GPU. Do you think just a 1000w is sufficient enough?
Nice!! Probably but you can pop over to our Best PSU 2022 video and use the method there to double check for your full build
Hey Jason. Awesome channel, I was following your videos to build my new Pc. I decided to go for a z790 from gigabyte with an i5 13600K paired with new bequiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 Cooler with LGA 1700 brackets. I read about bending and bad Cpu temps without a Contact Frame (Thermalright/ Thermal Grizzly) replacing the stock ILM. Is that true/ what is your opinion on that? :)
Can you explain the issue with the b660 motherboards? I mean if you undervolt the cpu a little, can you still get the bottleneck and the power limitations you talked about?
i just want to say thank you. this video helped me a lot. 13600k is going to be my new cpu.

@@PCBuilderChannel Got the i5 13600k and thought I would be able to use my old RAM cmk16gx4m2d3000c16, after many days of troubleshooting with my MAG Tomahawk wifi DDR4 (done all the 13th gen flashing) and I could not get it to post. I looked on MSI's compatibility list and my RAM isnt listed, getting new RAM tomorrow so hope this is the issue but surprised that it wouldnt work?

Perfect timing!
If I'm going to be building a 5600G APU, should i get the CL14 instead of the CL16 for faster shared VRAM access? Or is it not that noticeable.
i think this is the first time you have have done a Premiere,

@@PCBuilderChannel not really.
I have just built a PC with an i5-13600K as a replacement for an intel 7700 that I use as my daily driver. I am not a gamer, but I find the gamer-creator community is a great resource for the computers that I build or buy for my family. I used a Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX motherboard and an NH-15DS CPU cooler. I chose the 15DS due to the narrow Fractal Design Pop Air case. The cooling is good with the HWMonitor reporting a 60 C CPU rise from idle to full load. Cinebench scores are 2176 for single thread and 24328 for multi-thread. The CPU package draws 168 W, with 225 W coming out of the wall receptacle. The power supply is RM650X 80 Plus Gold. Assuming 80% efficiency That is only 180 W measured on the supply side. This leaves about 470 W continuous for a graphics card. I have ordered two different graphics cards, the first is an Intel Arc A770, while the second is an MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090. The A770, with a total board Power (TBP) of 225 W will be used in my new daily driver. The 4090 will be used in a similar build with a refaned Pop Air, water-cooled with an Artic Freezer 280, and an RM850X 80 Plus Gold. This would make a great gaming PC but is a replacement for a work PC I built with an i7-12700K with a 3090 FE.
good video, hoping u will release similar video for ryzen 7600x builds
Its on the list! We'll try to get that out asap

Hi Jason thanks for the video! I just have one question.
I have an i5 6600k, and it's definitely time to change it. I was thinking to upgrade to a i5 13600k while staying in ddr4 for now, but the question is, my 650w 80 gold plus (EVGA supernova G3) power supply is enough to power the 13600k and my gtx 1070? (I will eventually change power supply with the next GPU upgrade)
yes, undervolt the 13600k and no issues. but you really need a 3080 or higher
Dear Jason, Gigabyte Z690 AORUS PRO or MSI MAG Z690 TOMAHAWK - which would be a better choice for Core i513600k build ? Thanks !
Hey, wondering do u think that a NOCTUA NH-U12A is enough for 13600k? Or should i get 240mm AIO, thats all my budget can cover.
Great recommendations here apart from the PSU field of the 1000-1200W recommendations.
is b660m A-wifi motherboard enough for i5-13600k and rtx4070ti???
can i use a coller master 240 ml v2 rgb in this cpu?
