FYI you are not allowed to take an IV to re-hydrate and USADA is not allowed to grant a TUE for re-hydration either. IMHO USADA is corrupt.
did anybody notice anything, mayweather recieved an iv for the pac fight bc of dehydration, that was 750 ml IV. Mayweather is drinking a water bottle looks like dasani - 591 ml. They say that Mayweather is struggling but dosent look like hes under moderate or severe dehydration.

Props to the interviewer for asking this question. It quite obviously made Floyd uneasy and perhaps a little anxious. Why did Ellerby have to answer? Floyd blatently rehydrated up to about 160 for the Manny fight. That is why he would not let them weigh him on fight night.

Just like if a person drink water, the scale will go up because they just drunk something. But I'll be water weight not fat weight. That's why slot of boxers (including myself) dehydrate to make weight then rehydrate put the weight back on. The liquid thru iv goes straight intone blood, rehydrating you faster than a person drinking water

All the drugs they've been taken are out of their system by Fight Camp, they've cycled off and also some of them have Medical Exemptions which are kept quiet..

It's only legal to use an IV drop of you have a waiver from the USDA and Floyd and Manny didn't have one! He didn't apply for that waiver until 18 days after the fight was over! So what that means is one fighter had energy from an IV and one fighter didn't!

When a dehydrated person is admitted to the hospital, the very first thing the Physician does is order a IV drip. Why? Because it is the quickest way to ensure proper rehydration. Has nothing to do with illegal drugs. Do you honestly think a fighter would be dumb enough to allow someone to insert an illegal drug filled IV needle into his arm in front everyone interviewing him after a weigh-in?

When your urine is very dark that's a sign your body needs fluid badly... We are talking of him getting a TUE the day of the weigh in. Not weeks before the fight. He had already been tested a total of x14 times t that point.

When anything is given ORALLY, it has to be ingested/digested.
How long does Gatorade take to digest?
Its basic understanding of the body. I will give you the technical answer and then the basic answer that even you will have to understand.
Basically It largely depends on how long the drink spends in the stomach. How long it takes the stomach to empty varies a lot, from ten minutes to about an hour. It depends on what the pH is, osmolarity, and blood sugar levels.
On an empty stomach, with low blood sugar, if you drink a sports drink it would get to the small intestine in about 10 minutes, and will be rapidly taken up into the blood stream. With normal blood sugar levels, more like 20-25 minutes.
If we're talking about simple sugars, I'm guessing fructose, it won't need to be processed by the liver and will pass right through it to systemic circulation. The whole process of being absorbed by the small intestine to reaching systemic circulation, could be less than five minutes.
What happens once its in systemic circulation largely depends on blood sugar levels. Under some conditions much of the sugar will just be stored, and may not be metabolized for hours, or even days. But I think the point is that its *available* to be metabolized in around 15 minutes, assuming you drank it on an empty stomach, and were hypoglycemic, which is probably the case if you have been working out for awhile.
Short answer any liquid that needs to be in the body faster goes through a vein as that's basically what intravenous means and using an IV is faster at that. as there is literally no digestion ...

WADA is the chief drug testing agency in the world.
USADA follows all the guidelines that WADA uses for banned substances and procedures (such as an IV)
It's true that FM applied for and was granted a TUE but this wasn't done until 17 days after the May 2nd fight.
It's also true that FM violated WADA guidelines by not having the IV done at a medical facility and by injecting over 10x the allowable amount of fluid.
You argue that IV's are the quickest way to rehydrate the body. This is true but time wasn't an issue here . FM had more then 24 hours to rehydrate orally which benefits the body more because it's a more natural way to replenish fluids in the body.
This is about preferential treatment and lack of fairplay and FM's relationship with USADA.
I think we need answers before a boxer dies in the ring due to lack of testing, if you don't that's fine but trying to make it a hate issue won't help anybody.

+Luis Abiera He got an exemption for the IV from the USADA. There were no illegal substances and unless you can prove that it was PEDS, then he's not guilty. At the time it wasn't against the rules of the NSAC. They had a problem with the amount that was taken but it was more than likely nothing more than saline and vitamins. It CAN mask PEDS but until it's proven, it's not wise to make assumptions. Plus his skill won the boxing match, not PEDS.

Mayweather trained probably the hardest he ever trained in his life for the fight up to that point. You can see he was also dehydrated cause if you go back and watch the fight in the corner they were giving him Gatorade. When have you seen him drink Gatorade in the corner. He overtrained for the pacquiao fight and was dehydrated that's all. I saw when Eric Morales came back I cant remember what fight it was but he was drinking Gatorade in the corner of his fight as well. The amount of reaching and the stuff they come up with before every Mayweather fight its pathetic man, its sick.
