Horst Winter (1914 - 2001) was a German musician and singer. He studied violin and clarinet in Berlin and then started playing clarinet in different Dance Orchestras, for example in the Orchestra of Hans Rehmstedt, where he also began to sing. From 1941 on he conducted his own Orchestra and made several recordings for the label TEMPO. After World War Two he founded the Viennese Dance Orchestra in 1946 which he directed until 1950 and made a lot of recordings. He stayed busy as a very successful singer and Orchestra conductor until into the Nineties.

"Ludwig 'Lutz' Templin (June 18, 1901, Düsseldorf - March 7, 1973, Stuttgart) was a German jazz bandleader.
Templin played violin and saxophone, and studied composition before finding work playing and arranging in dance ensembles. From 1941 to 1949 he led a big band in Germany which recorded extensively and was broadcast on German radio. This ensemble also recorded as 'Charlie and his Orchestra', doing arrangements of American jazz hits with propagandistic lyrics inserted; these were broadcast on Nazi radio stations. Templin's ensemble operated out of Berlin until 1943, when Allied bombing resulted in their relocation to Stuttgart. Templin remained in Stuttgart after the war and continued performing there for most of the rest of his life."

I loved Ilse Werner's version, but this wonderfully orchestrated, smooth and gentle rendition is so beautiful as well. Horst Winter's delicate vocal was great, blending together so harmoniously with the elegant, colourful band accompaniment. Thank you so much dear Julian for sharing this!

Dieses Lied strahlt eine gewisse unbeschwerte Leichtigkeit aus… auch wenn der Hampelmann das Köpfchen hängen lässt… Irgendwie ist man dadurch hin- und hergerissen zwischen Mitleid und munterem Kopfgewackel… Auf jeden Fall bleibt die Spannung beim Zuhören erhalten! 🌷🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎵🎶🌷
