Widen your discs a bit, leaves a cleaner furrow wall. You can sign her up in the farmerette class at the county match.
Oh this was brilliant video, well done to your sister pitching in to help out and doing an amazing job there. Ballistics! Now that's something different, must be an interesting subject to be studying.

Plough looks like its a Kverneland Model E with a 160 head stock, probably a 16 inch fur to suit the wheels of the 6290

Another good one Phil sounds like you have a good sisrer there.If you need inspiration after your dirty secret video you need to check out Cole the corn star.He is the master of sorting / organising farm buildings and machinery they have always got some project on the go .They have a tidy workshop and they wax there tractors and combine twice a year. I know that comparison is a bit unfair as they don't work in the slurry business. Also there gear is inside for four months of the year as it is around - 20 for most of the winter in Iowa. It's an interesting chanel but they do like Case not Massy. Keep up the good work.
i do watch cole from time to time hes blessed with lots of time during the winter to get them kind of jobs done where as we go from one round of work into the next and usually december is our only quite month yet we still have 600-700 cattle to look after

Get them made up, any good engineering firm should be able to do it...you may need to send the old ones to them however. I got a set made up for my Case 4240 with a lad in Enniskillen...

@@FARMERPHIL3690 quick work ..............seen 2 tractors one with a 4 furrow one with a3 furrow take 9 hrs to plough 14 acres .............full of stones , ........both men went home that evening tired ..........took me a lot longer to pick them .........in days before big disc harrows came around ...............

10 hrs would do a lot of it she is cracking on ......land not stony ......always helps .
Never realised there was so little to that ploughing carry-on. 20 minute training course and away you go :-)
ploughing stubbles is not too difficult with a big heavy plough ............lea is a different ball game ............his sister is walking with brains ......a big help ...!

First time watcher. Your plow spins so the furrow is layed the same way in both directions? Wow ! I have never seen that before. Of course, here in America they don't plow much anymore. Do you disk it flat after your finished plowing?

yes we disc it afterwords to level the field and no im not near skipton im in ireland
I was told to start plowing on the short runs first?

Well, it's a rough old world - whether you're raising cows for slaughter like Farmer Phil or browbeating and threatening the sheep in church with eternal damnation.
