Hal is an amazing musician and human. On my first day in LA, I called Hal, I asked him if he knew anybody needing a drummer. Within 10 minutes, Hal called me back with a gig. It didn't stop there. He did everything he could to help me. He said he remembered what it was like starting out. He got me inducted into local 47 walking down the hallway, I felt like I was walking with the God of drums. I love you Hal, may your musical creations and drumming innovations last as long as the Earth turns!!
Thanks to you, Keith, Hal is my favorite drummer too. Hope you are well. I ended up moving to Winchester when my mom passed away. God bless you and thank you for everything!
What is impressive is not only the sheer number of hits Hal has played on but the variety of musical styles and genres played to perfection over so many years. All I can say is "Thanks for all the great music Hal - we are blessed to have you."
There's a moment in the life of every drummer "of a certain age" when we found out that Hal Blaine was several of our top ten favorite drummers. He was five of mine.

Hal was TOTALLY shocked to see Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss there. You can tell, he was stunned (pleasantly, however). A great surprise for him.
