awesome! great side back then and we beat Liverpool without Tueart ,m Hartford and Bell, one to treasure considering Liverpool were so dominant and would go on to beat us so often
It's strange to see a Liverpool team with Ian Callaghan and Alan Hansen playing together. Even stranger to think that over a year later that they would sack Tony Book and then split up a team that seemed to have so much promise about them.
Wow, really impressed by the quality of this game. Obviously Liverpool were European champions so that shouldn't come as a surprise, but they're moving the ball around better than the current squad do!
As I recall, this was just before the beginning of a long decline 4 City. I think they finished 4th that season. Liverpool defeats 4 many years were pretty much collectors items. It was a different game in a different world. Watching Channon's 'Pete Townshend' swinging arm celebration, it strikes me as being pretty dangerous. If I'd been one of his teammates, I don't think I'd have wanted to get too close! Funny, but we always hate other teams when they're successful. I don't mind Liverpool now!
@zarakhast That Forest game was on 13/10/79. Unfortunately it was during the ITV strike and it wasn't on Match of the Day either. However the BBC evening news did show two minutes of action including the goal. Sadly I don't have it.
One game I've never seen was Liverpool's 3-0 win vs City on26-2-1972.It was the beginning of Liverpool's great 2nd revival under Shanks-although Derby pipped through at the death. Anyone seen it?
Brilliant stuff. The best era for English football ever.
Kidd, Channon, Royle, Barnes, Watson, Corrigan. All England internationals. Great days.

@mcfcvideos Thanks-yes, I remember Everton were at Goodison the same day in FA cup. Wouldn't be arranged like that nowadays.
Because that was there traditional home kit from 1976 for about 10 years.
@TheDosshouse That one was played on an FA Cup weekend so the TV companies were showing Cup games instead.

Anyone seen it?
@Beliasarius They wore blue shorts for a few years in the late 70s and early 80s. I don't like the the look much.
Why are City wearing blue shorts at home?
