A nice flick. Nice music to accompany the chase. By this time, the met were using the two-tone siren which came into use around June 1965. Yes, that is the actor who played the doctor in black beauty in the 1970s.
Simon Templar would have made the perfect partner for this Iconic sports car. It was first choice for the TV series, But the story goes, that Jaguar wouldn't supply them with one, One huge mistake in my book !
I'm sure the Jag changes colour near the end of the chase, it goes from a metallic colour to a solid colour. I suppose because it was in black and white they thought they could get away with it.😁
I didn't think the chase was too bad, considering the age of the film. Entirely watchable, one has to make allowances. Watch something that's new now in 40years time and it'll be dated
Really. If you can’t shake off a 3 litre Wolsey (or was it an Austin Westminster) with 4 officers off the law inside in an E Type you have chosen the wrong path in life.

A very British car chase, they both stop at that intersection and then proceed
I thought that was Inspector Clouseau, and was awaiting comedic hi-jinks!
You're not the only one who had to take a second glance at the felon, Brain 😁

Thank god they didn't damage that beauty!
The Sweeney wouldn't have stopped at the intersection.
I knew Wolsley cars were better than Austin or Morris but I never knew they were so great. It outran that E Type Jag.
E-types are at every car show... we need more big bad Wolseleys around!
Nice to read a discerning opinion 👍
My dad owned one when we were kids, two tone green, 3 speed with overdrive manual. Lovely car
Notice that the E-Type's motif bar is missing at the start, but at the end it is in place. Odd. 🙂

0:38 damn drum brakes
As if a Wolseley 3-litre is going to keep up with a 3.8 E-Type!
Not just that. They keep losing the Jag and catch up again!
@@dudley7540 ...and a cop-out of an ending! Geddit?
Hmm..but in the city the Jaguar wouldn't be able to use all its power...
Good point
- special 'police specification' petrol? 🙂
I think the music is actually better than the chase.
Lol the e type would have been in the next county b4 the old Wolsley got into 2nd gear
Comrade Phillips from William Tell turns plod.
We’ll just leave that E-type roadster there with the keys in it...
In those days they often did.

As if that Wolsey keep up with that Series 1 E yeah alright in its dreams 😂😂😂
super car

the man driving the jaquar is Doctor Gordon from Black Beauty
Cops in the UK were really god rivers, imanige keeping up with a Etype.
Wasn't that Dirk Bogarde arresting the Jag guy?
Conrad Phillips, best known for the kids TV series 'William Tell '.
Being caught by the Wolsley with 3 onboard driving the E-type?? This guy must have been the worst driver of all time..
It was a Rover?
Is that an E type wolseley.
Sounds like an ice cream truck following him
Are the police driving a woseleys
