Just one small point that might help if you have a silver wing with fairing you dont have to remove the forks all this can be done with forks on the bike infact the clamps even help when it comes to un doing things ???? Moaning Pom strikes again !!!
Nice job! Well, you're way more luckier than I, cause it took for about 4 hours for me to change the fork seals on my bike. (These 40 year old soviet bikes are quite tricky sometimes :D) The trouble I had is that this bolt on the bottom of the fork didn't want to come off. It was just spinning around and I couldn't unscrew it with any method possible. I suppose it could work if I had an air gun wrench, but I dont have one. So the trick I did is: I made a hook out of a bicycle spoke and took of these seals just from the top. So I didn't have to put my fork apart to change the seals (There are two seals each side). So, if you feel lazy to fully disassemble your fork and you need only to change the seals, it will work. Thanks for your attention :) P.s. nice cool little trick in the beginning, I'll use it for sure!
Half the fun is working out how to complete the task with what you have and it sounds like you did that so well done for thinking outside the box. Thank you for the comment
Love the videos!! This should help out when it comes time to change my fork seals in my 81 CB250N. Keep up the good work! Also can’t wait for the next installment of the Scrambler episode!!!!
Great that he made those for u. Look nice. Maybe over the swingarm pivot bolt near rearsets. Would have to be able to take it off to remove pivot bolt. Looks good offset on top triple like u showed.
That's cool! I subscribe to his channel also. Between your channel, An other Cafe racer build, For the bold, Jish all you guys keep me inspired to work on my own project!
Wayne Martinez you inspire me when you take the time to leave me a comment:) Sorry for late reply I must have missed this comment and just found it now
Cafe Racer Garage no worries my friend! Keep up the good work. I've been watching your bike lift videos to get an idea of how to make one of my own. Thanks.
Hi Dan. I really appreciate the fabrication & how-to videos you provide us with. quick question about the springs themselves. I did exactly what you did but I found 1 spring with the tightly wound coils on top and on the other side there were at the bottom. I put them both on top to mimic the rear suspension springs. Is there a good way to do this or it does not really matter?
Good primer on doing forks, Dan! I like the medallions with your logo... I kinda favor the spot you had on the tank top. Hope it’s not getting too cold there yet! 🏍👍🏻🏍
I thought I replied to this but now I can’t see my reply 🤔 Not to cool bro I’m still working in shorts lol 😂 Hope you are well brother and thank you again for your on going support
I love your videos! Know this is a old one, but wondering how you replaced seals without having stanchion in place? Do you not have large metal washer underneath seal and bushing?
I am building my own cafe racer of a cb750 so thank you for the videos. I have got myself forks and front wheel from a yamaha r6 but i was wondering if you are using the rear wheel from a R6 and how you monted the rear brakes?
Hey Dan! I've been thinking about doing my for seals but I'm rebuilding a yamaha xj750 seca and the bike has an anti dive system built in into the front forks. Really interesting system but I'm not really sure on how to take on replacing my fork seals now since I'm not sure how everything works with the oils and stuff around the anti dive system. Do you have any clue on how to do this?
Ruben sorry for the late reply, unfortunately I don’t have any knowledge on those forks but look up moto X repairs place and chat with the guys that do the repairs on mx bikes they do fork seals all the time and I’m sure they have come accross them before, If you buy the seals from them they will be more than happy to share their knowledge on how to do it :) Thank you for you comment brother:)
Ha ha It took me a while to work out what you were saying but I worked it out 7:10 its just black coffee my friend. I tried to make the music sound like the coffee was a boost of energy :) It does look like patron cafe tho :)
Not wishing to piss on your chips as we poms say but I came for the forks not the brakes so why even mention them ?????? but a good up load never the less !!!!" MOANING POM STIKES AGAIN" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is one of your more helpful videos for me, as this is a job I have ahead of me. Thanks, mate!
Thnx for posting! It helped me seal the deal on my suspension work which turned out great.
Jens E Thank you so much for your kind words, I’m so glad it helped you 😁

Can you put the fork stanchion in after installing the seal like this on most bikes ?
