- Dave gets vocal again as we get ourselves up into the beautiful Isle of Skye, Applecross and the Trossachs.
If you don't mind watching middle-aged men moaning and having a little too much craft ale influencing their conversations you may actually get some related information about the roads we travel and the bikes we are riding.
For those of you that are regulars Dave is his usual self, perhaps even more grumpy than usual :-)
Lovely video fellas. I really enjoy the banter and the fun you guys have is what life’s about... yet another great biker trip. Thanks for posting...
The relationships are great. Thank you for sharing your fun.
Dave is a star. He takes such a lot of stick from you with such good grace and humility. Fantastic scenery and tour.
You should have intercoms.
Great vid, glad to see another! 👍🏻
This all just made me smile! Real life fun!
So good to see another trip video after such a long hiatus, and it was a belter! Can't wait for some more content :-)
Great Video Guy's, glad you are back on the road Boys
Great vid great photography and of course good old Dave .
I enjoyed that. Beautifully filmed and well worth the wait.
Great story telling and beautiful pictues of the countryside .. LOved the end of day discriptions by all three of you ... Really great film ..
Very kind thanks.
great entertainment once again Andy,cheers.
Thanks for this video I am in Turkey on my own with just bbc world news to watch and know one is uploading videos this week. So when your vid popped up I was chuffed 👍. Nice vid
I pick my 1250HP up next week and I’m going to Scotland next May, this has made me very impatient... Brilliant video. Cheers lads.
Good time to go, you’ll still need plenty of midge repellent though (or smoke a pipe!)
And there was me thinking, they've packed it in or something horrible has happened. The Bealach na Ba (Pass of the Cattle) is the pads/road over to Applecross ! Wild camping on Loch Lomond, thought that was banned a few years ago ! Always enjoyable watching the banter with you guys! Belting video. I'm off to Glencoe from Warwickshire in three weeks, camping at Invercoe campsite with the BMW Motorcycle club. Cheers lads !
Have a great time!
Wild camping is legal, but for certain areas and specific times of the year must first obtain a permit.

Fun video especially during COVID when my new V85TT sits at home day dreaming of trips like yours. I’ve been up that way but bus with no way to stop and camp. Certainly worth a journey over the pond from Colorado and give it a go. Cheers
Good to have you back after so long. Really enjoyed the chat.
Another brilliant movie. You guys really should do more. You all work so well together. Please keep up the good work.
Enjoyed the banter boys. Ask Dave if he's just a rain and road man or if he's ever been in dynamic mode on his way to Cotswold BMW.....
You just mentioned Dave and Dynamic in the same sentence 😂
Good film guys!....Thanks for uploading...
Another fine video. The scenery in Scotland looks amazing......thanks for posting.
Nice one Andy, good to see a different take on this trip. Not quite sure which way your went, but still enjoyed it nonetheless. Hope you can do a review of your Guzzi. Thanks lads.
Miss you guys, glad to see all back on the road, camping and drinking 😂 be safe 👍🏽
Enjoyable. Good banter. Subscribed. Regards from NE Thailand, 30 miles from the majestic Mekong.
Good work. Enjoyable watch as usual especially Mr Truman who always makes me laugh. Could do with seeing a bit more of you. Cheers till the next time
Joys of being the editor, I can keep myself out of it!
Hi guys, love the video, some smashing filming and banter, that's what it's all about. Dave cracks me up even though he is a Brummie and i am from the Black Country, but i will let him off. Well done lads, look forward to the next adventure.
Keep out the'' Os road Derv''.
Cheers John.
Great video as always Andy and Dave was on form. Some great photography and drone footage as well.
Get away from those sports bikes of yours and you can come with us one day 😂
Great video, thanks
Well done guys another great entertaining video cheers love Scotland 🏴
I’m taking your recommendation for a tour of Scotland to heart and will do it once the Covid restrictions are relaxed
I’ve really enjoyed the banter of close friends taking the p!ss out of each other. Stay safe guys
top vid boys, the banter canny be beat
Great vid chaps, just brilliant. Good to see you back. Well done 🏍👍
Really enjoyed this especially as it was very familiar having done it a number of times. Wild camp bit was great!
Great format and professional intro. Love the V85TT but could not wait for it. Stuck with BMW until next time
Brilliant video. That was like my lot in the pub on a Friday. Lots of laughs and waffle
Great video, love your videos, love watching video's from bikers who live close to me. (Midlands)
Just spotted your videos.....brilliant. My sort of craic. Thanks for the escapism.
Thanks Ian, can’t wait to be back out there...
Turn right at Applecross junction to the walled garden tea room, lovely place with lovely people.
what a surprise for a bike review....great roads. I did want to hear more about the V85 tt
Check out my V85TT specific review a couple of vids back. Will post an update to it soon now I have a few thousand miles on the clock...
Nothing better then friends having fun !!!
Very enjoyable video, thanks for sharing. Just shows, with good weather the old UK (ok Scotland) is simply the best for a motorcycle tour. I’m very tempted to buy a V85tt over a nearly new GS. Gotta be the Guzzi, surely......?
It’s a more characterful bike, reminds me of my first 2008 GS Adventure
Thank you Andy. Always had older Guzzi’s; T3’s, Le Mans etc. Had a solitary BMK100RS - heavy, characterless but effective. Mind now made up after so many positive reports on the V85. Keep posting those vids; very watchable!
Thanks for the ride fellas.
Gents. Have been watching the videos over the last couple of months. Great viewing, fantastic easy going style. You are obviously good buddies. Dave has one of the best sense of humour I've seen for a long time. Although your major trips are great, I like the UK based days just as much and as a fellow camper the camp videos are very good. I don't have a GS, I have a Tiger 800 Which is my price and not (it's nearly as clean as Dave's GS!). If ever you are looking for people to.ride with I would be happy to meet up. I am up by the PrO District near Congelton. Keep making the videos and make sure you keep safe.
Mathew Vincent thanks Mathew, good to hear from you - can’t wait to get back out on the bikes properly!
love your video's dave should be on the telly lol
Hi Gents Glad to see you had another great trip.
Sorry, I missed you passing through Skye maybe you will do another trip.
Great camera shots as usual.
Be safe kind regards form Ian at Dunvegan
Tell you a story. Back in the 90's, every year, 5-6-7-8 of us close friends would go on a Euro run road trip in August for 9-10 days. Old Brit twins, old Harleys, Guzzi Cali's etc. Get away from the UK, warm dry weather and Euro food and drink and culture. Wonderful. One year we said lets go to Scotland instead of Austria, Italy and the Alps all the time. Yes the roads and the scenery is stunning a la this great video. But the weather! In August! Jesus that year was bad. Never again we said in unison. We go on holiday on bikes we want sunshine. Not waterproofs all day every day.
Edit.
That was the only run/trip we ever cut short too, we had just had enough of being cold and wet all day. Every day.
I said the same the first time I went to Scotland (there’s a video way back in my timeline) - tried it again ten years later, still the same 😂
Nice to see you back roughing it😀
I will just say this, I have missed this.
The deer hunter intro was shorter than this one 🤣🤣🤣 BUT a really good vid 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍🏴🇬🇧
Great to see you guys back. Another great video...hope it's not as long to the next! Was interested to see what you think of the Guzzj...perhaps for another video?
One coming soon hopefully - just trying to fit it in the diary as this isn’t a day job!
Pure class lads!😀👍
A video of Dave picking up his new 1250 would be good!!
I might drive him to the local BMW dealer to take a look 😂
Nice vid.
Just great!
Great video! How can Dave ride such an old bike? Come to STOCKHOLM, Sweden next summer and can take you out on some gravel roads on some real adventure. 😉
He’s a bit old himself 😂
Yes, that's Scotland. Cold, wet and miserable with added midges, and come home early after a couple of sunset photos to make it seem like it was all worthwhile.
It had its highlights.....I would have stuck it out 😂
New to the channel, probably the longest intro I've ever sat through but held my nerve. Nicely made vid. Glad to see someone stray away from the middle aged man's staple GS and go down the Guzzi route, is it powerful enough??
It is for me, it can get a proper lick on when it needs to, be aware if you test ride one with less than 750 miles on it, the power is knobbled until the first service when a new engine map goes on.
@@andybcole That's interesting because my dealer who sold me my MT10 discouraged me from taking a test ride on the Guzzi when their demo arrived. He had just ridden it to the dealership and said I would think it was underpowered. Let's be honest most bikes will after the MT10 but I do like the looks especially in Ronald McDonald yellow. Trying not to get dragged down the GS route like so many others. Cheers Richard H.
Great video , am looking forward to the IMAX version
Thanks guys, Europe next years please!
Great video Gentlemen 👍 you have inspired me to explore Scotland 🏴
What scenery 😊
My brother in law and me are considering a similar ride to Scotland. Think you've just upped it from considering to planning.
My first tour of Scotland was torrential rain and very high winds- scared me more than Hardknott Pass LOL.
Great video Andy, I've had my Guzzi a week now and I love it, It's different to anything else I've had in 45 years of biking and I think different is the key word. there's nothing else like it on the market, It puts a huge smile on my face every time I ride it. How many miles have you done now ?
Up to about 4,000 and not as many as I would like but also have a camper van so split loyalties!
You can’t do anything but laugh at Dave he’s great craic, Thanks for sharing Andy I thought you had given up, any plans for touring this year ?
Loving the vids and friendly banter....well piss taking :) it's been too long!
Brilliant, really enjoyed that👍👍 When’s Dave upgrading?😂😂
I have a feeling it won’t be long....
Well Andy moved on from the BMW R1200GS to the Himalayan and now the Guzzi, but the BMW t-shirts will remain for ever..... BMW forever...
Still have a fondness for the GS and wear the T-Shirts...life’s too short, wish I could have them all!
Hi, great trip fellas. I see that the Guzzi has now got the crash bars and luggage and looks superb. How did you find it on this trip for comfort, power especially with keeping up with the Gs's? I'm now in the market for a new bike and with you having the experience of 4 Gs's and and the v85tt how do they compare? For the price of A new new v85tt you could get a nice GS 1200 , what's your opinion on that option . I'm not interested in PCP rental rubbish . Everyone seems to have a Gs these days and no one gives them a second look on the car park, but the Moto Guzzi is a real head turner. Your thoughts and opinions would be appreciated. Rob
Absolutely no problem whatsoever with comfort or ability to keep up. The Guzzi has great low down torque which is exactly what is needed on these kinds of roads and it cruises comfortably on the cruise control at motorway speeds. You would have to be a seriously quick rider who should probably be on a sports bike to draw massive differences between the two unless you were on a track.
@@andybcole Thanks for the super quick response, looks like this is a keeper then , looking like a tutti terreno for me too. Looking forward to your next post on the v85tt. Thanks Rob.
Hi Andy, great video, thank you. I have a question! What are your thoughts about the short screen and have you tried the touring screen at all, my Guzzi comes on Tuesday. Cheers. 🏍😎
I’m six foot and haven’t felt the need for a touring screen. The temperature got down to just above zero on this trip and it rained a little and I emerged unscathed. I’m also not a fan of the looks of the big touring screens, makes a beautiful bike look a bit ugly (IMHO)
Now that Dave is in the main stream, I would be interested to know how his family is coping with his popularity. People walking up asking for autographs, women mailing him their under garments, wanting to have his children, things of that nature.
They keep sending the stuff to Paul Hollywood by mistake.... :-). He loves every minute of it. Getting recognised in Applecross and Glen Brittle had him fully made up!
great video, good to have your content back! (even if Dave is in it ;) )
Will there be an Update-video about your Guzzi-Experiance so far? Did you have any issues of any kind like the oil leaking of the shaft drive?
Bike ran fine, no issues (went like a dream actually). Don’t be put off by the shaft drive internet stuff, they have changed the service instructions, reduced cardan oil by 30ml and only a fraction of owners were affected anyway...
@@andybcole Thanks for this quick response. Love to hear that the bike runs fine. It's such a beautiful piece of engineering! Just after 5 minutes of riding it got me.
Maybe I'm a bit too cautious and so I always worry too much.
Have fun and ride safe 👍
I would be interested in which tires each of you chose for this terrain....
Just the standard tyres that came with the bike - any dual sport would be fine. Anakee 3’s on the V85TT.
I have used Metzeler Roadtecs and also Continental Road Attack 3 .... both unbeatable for both “feel” and grip, imho, (but; wear very (arguably unacceptably) far too fast (2000 miles approx life! )
I hear, from friends, that the Michelin road 5 last up to 5500 miles on a GS, so that will be my next purchase.
At last ! It’s been a while lads. How’s the Guzzi riding?
Fantastic, will post an update soon!
How long is the intro !
Might have tried a little too hard to build the expectation of another rant from Dave :-)
Wow, 2min intro!
You are a bit cruel to Dave 3rd gear indeed!
That intro was a bit excessive
I do my best, feedback always appreciated :-)
