      @@sadjkt48 , The Quest system works much better in this. Each castle has different locations you can quest your knights and also send them and their monsters to Training Grounds to level up. Knights will also always come back from questing the following turn. So yes, it will be worthy of high replay value.

    Cross-classing is great in the original game when done strategically without compromising too many stats for the final highest class a run knight will stick to.
    Or have wicked units like Lilith or Lucifer for "versatility!" :))

    • @pedrostormrage
      @pedrostormrage 4 роки тому +1

      Yeah, I also prefer cross-classing between classes with compatible stat growths. A good example of that is what he did with Elena, changing her from a hunter to a dancer (both classes focus on STR and AGI). The bad news is that you won't be able to get versatility with a single class anymore (Liliths and Lucifers don't exist in this game), so cross-classing is almost a necessity here.

    Your videos are clear and well spoken/put together, and the information is useful and interesting. I hope your channel, and this game take off like a rocket!
    There is a tactical RPG made by some great people over on Steam called "Troubleshooters: Abandoned Children" that is so good its hard to see how its only a niche title other then people just don't know it exists. Its like a hybrid of fire emblem meets Persona. Check it out when you have the time, and if you talk to the devs, tell em "Steel Midnight" recommended you. They may even give you a key so you can review it as well if you tell dandylion you have a gaming channel.. Keep up the quality work.

    I would have liked to see knight classes that needed hybrid builds. For example, Dark Knight could have required mastery in Knight and Berserker, as a nod to how you got a dark knight in the old game.

      I definitely have build vids planned in the future so I'll definitely incorporate those after I have access to the full game. That way I can cover a bunch of builds, if not ALL of them in one video. I may split it into Country specific vids to highlight individual knights.

    To go all out offensive knight, I prefer main Sword Master/ Champion ability.
    SM skill to do massive damage with 50% chance of critical + champion critical extra damage will be huge.

    • @TheStellarArcade

      They work so well together. I'm definitely gonna have at LEAST one of those combos in every playthrough I'd say. I wanna experiment with a top notch Caster Class soon.

    • @pedrostormrage
      @pedrostormrage 4 роки тому +3

      I also think that Sword Master/Champion will be possibly the most offensive combination, but it's not as good as you think (the Critical Damage Up from the Champion doesn't carry over to other classes). To get the most out of it, you need to master the Sword Master class (which gives you HP Recovery B and Critical Rate Up B) and then switch to Champion (to get Critical Damage Up and Accuracy Up S).

      Which one between the two has a better Pre-Move attack? Or the same massive dmg?

    • @pedrostormrage
      @pedrostormrage 4 роки тому +1

      @@SmoothDesigner The Sword Master's skills aren't still fully known because there isn't one in the continent (the "class" menu lists the skills/spells and abilities of all classes, but doesn't describe their powers or MP costs). Also, since pre-moves usually cost MP now, that also has to be taken into account. However (if the Brigandine wiki is right), it looks like Sword Masters will deal more damage (but, like i said before, the Critical Damage Up ability from the Champion doesn't carry over to other classes) . Here are their movesets:
      Champion (skill name/power/mp cost/description):
      Divine Blow - 125 - 0 - Normal Attack. Deals moderate damage to a single adjacent enemy unit. Pushes the enemy back by 1 hex (if the hex is unoccupied).
      Maximum Rush (pre-move) - 230 - 100 - Deals massive damage to a single adjacent enemy unit. (2.3 power/MP)
      Vacuum Uppercut - 125 - 30 - Deals moderate damage to a single adjacent enemy unit. Recover HP equal to 20% of damage dealt. (4.1 power/MP)
      Fighting Focus - X - 45 - Increases your Attack for a limited number of turns.
      Sword Master (skill name/power/mp cost/description):
      Refined Fang Slash - 135 - 0 - Normal attack. Deals major damage to a single adjacent enemy unit.
      Refined Iaido Blade (pre-move) - 185 - 60 - Deals massive damage to a single adjacent enemy unit. (3.08 power/MP)
      Idle Flash - 250 - 140 - Deals massive damage to a single adjacent enemy unit. Critical damage +50%. (1.78 power/MP)
      Swift Stance - X - 25 - Increases your AGI for a limited number of turns.
      So Sword Masters have more powerful attacks, but Champions's attacks also have added effects (like pushing the enemy or absorbing HP).

    Do you guys prefer rushing through the game, or taking your time?
    Personally, though I do really love this new Brigandine, I don't like the "rush" thing, after finishing a very tedious Challenge mode, I have to say there are better ways to increase challenge other then taking away resources/knights and making you bum rush the game. I REALLY wish there was a harder difficulty without the time restraints or limitations on recruitable rune knights. Yeah, its supposed to offer a challenge (and it did!) but I would much rather have a hard mode without such limitations as time or number of knights, ect. Just wanted to see if anyone else felt that way....

    Observation on magic user classes:
    tier 3 Wizard - male mage Kit - got nerfed hard in this new game without access to OG Druid/ Necromancer.
    tier 2 - 3 Sorceress/ Witch got nerfed with Fallberg now being given to tier 3 Royal Knight originally Valkyrie.
    Tier 3 Seraph is now designed to be more of a magic support role with the elimination Lucifer kit.
    Would love to hear how people experience the Bard/ Minstrel/ Troubadour kit in the gameplay - the designated Green mage.

    5:51 I always felt hesitant about cross-classing between melee/spellcasting classes (because their stat growths are usually not compatible), but I do admit the versatility could be interesting (since you're not useless once you run out of MP).
    7:40 I understand why some abilites (like Dominate Sky and Shield Block) don't carry over to other classes (they're dependent on specific kinds of equipment), but I still think more abilities (the more "general" ones) should carry over (like Critical Damage Up, Sidestep, and Parry) - once again, it just feels they're doing that to enforce the "uniqueness" of each class, and not because it makes sense.
    9:23 The enlightenment scroll is such a good addition! I agree that the optimal use of it would be on leaders who "lost" one proficiency level because they "overleveled" in the same class by a single level, but you can still take that to the extreme: I'm looking forward to seeing the "jack-of-all-trades" builds that are gonna come out of that (the 2nd producer letter said that the time limit gets lifted at some point, so it will be possible to keep questing until you get enough of those items) - bonus points if you do that with Jack :P
    34:44 Even with the equipment being able to add elemental variety to the Ancient Dragon, I still feel weird about all of them being red-elemental: not only because they're negating the elemental choice you've made in the previous tier, but also because that feels like contradictory design (I mean, they let nightmares have spells from the previous tier despite the elemental shift from dark to white, so why not let dragons keep (some of) the characteristics of the previous tier as well?). I also don't understand why they're requiring promotion items for so many 3rd tier classes, and abolishing 4th tier classes (Lucifers and Liliths) altogether (I think regulating the level up/growth rate is a better way to impose barriers to classing up).

    • @SeraphJo
      @SeraphJo 3 роки тому +1

      There's some other neat things about hybridizing mages and fighters besides not being useless with no MP. Like cutting through the frontline to get oneself placed in range of a critical damage spell, buffing another better positioned unit with Power or Halo, being a frontline healer that can evade & counter while tending to the team, etc. it's all so great!

    So I'm curious. I've been allowing my heroes to get dual classes, but I run into an issue mid game where their heroes are mostly at tier 3 and none of mine are. Like, its nice that my berserker can heal and all, but when they deal 400 damage and i'm healing 100-200, it seems counter intuitive. I've dealt with this so far by baiting and focusing those heroes and killing them as quick as possible, so I can roam around their kingdom a few turns without dealing with them/earning the exp off their lvl 20+ heroes, but i'm wondering if there are ways that others deal with this issue.
    edit: I also use 2-3 Pegasus an army as well as one healer hero and 2 or so specialty monsters: Imp/Mermaid/(sometimes demon), so I try to silent and charm when I can to put holes in their defenses.

    • @TheStellarArcade
      @TheStellarArcade  Рік тому +1

      First of all, let me commend you for crossing your berserker with a healer, lol. I don't see it that often, so kudos! So I found the best way to deal with a heavy hitting leader is the Weakness and Magic Down Spells, depending on the leader. Weakness on Rudo for example makes a HUGE difference in his power output and was a game-changer every time I faced him. I'd recommend evolving to Nightmares instead of Pegasus for the majority of your Unicorns. Yes, Halo can help a Low AGL leader to hit their big boy attacks, however I would run 2 Nightmares and 1 Pegasus per Team. 3 Nightmares if you don't need Halo. Other units can of course make use of Weakness and Magic Down, but you'll mostly want them to do damage. Nightmares are mostly supportive anyways, plus they keep the Heal and Cure spells.
      Another way to deal with the issue is to abuse Magic Down and Status Effects because the lower the INT is on a unit, the more likely they are to be hit with Stone, Poison, or Charm for example. Dimension is also popular in this scenario. Take note if they have any means to CURE the status effects. If not, have fun! ;)

    • @STStillwell
      @STStillwell Рік тому +1

      @@TheStellarArcade Nah, I meant the healing from the Knight. That WOULD be cool though to use your spin to win strat with area healing capabilities.
      Thanks for the insight. I took care of the problem on easy by being really agressive and clearing the map before they build up, but I have a feeling that wont work with the harder difficulties.

    • @TheStellarArcade
      @TheStellarArcade  Рік тому

      @@STStillwell , You can still make good momentum on Hard Difficulty when you get more experience on the battlefield. You'll need to consider more of what the enemy can do in relationship to your positioning to succeed on harder difficulties. Example, I learned the hard way to NEVER position a unit, especially a Leader, within EXACTLY 4 spaces of an enemy unit who can cast Dimension. The AI will prioritze Damage over Dimension if you're within range of their Offensive Spells/Skills, such as Venom. Tim is a good example of this along with Tier 2-3 Demons, etc.

    While interesting, single class characters are better in general. Why? You will always have the correct stats for the skills plus you wont have to change your items around for each class. Also, personally, i spam training asap with every character i can. Level has a lot to do with what you find in quests. Low level...yeah, youre not going to get above red arrow. you want at least 3 levels to find extra Knights with an efficiency, plus, you NEED to find those rare items that let you level up to the elite monsters.

    • @TheStellarArcade
      @TheStellarArcade  2 роки тому

      I disagree. While I can see the benefits of stats in a single class, it's never going to trump Variety. That being said, there's no reason you can't do well without cross-classing, however opening up your options to deal with any given situation is far superior. The game encourages cross-classing for this very reason. The same thing can be said about Questing. Locations are based off Level AND your Class. Having characters that can bounce between Tier 2 classes and above covers a lot more ground to receive 3 rankings or more.

    • @rpscorp9457
      @rpscorp9457 2 роки тому

      @@TheStellarArcade The benefit isnt worth it. You need Tier 3 in a class to get the star. Splitting up your classes so that you have a bunch of t1 is not a good strategy..sure, you will find lots of stuff at a broader range of locations, but its all going to be tier 1 or next to useless. To get tier 3 items, need lvl 20 and tier 3 class. After you get your tier 3 though, you can switch classes to cover more bases.

    • @TheStellarArcade
      @TheStellarArcade  2 роки тому

      @@rpscorp9457 I know you need Tier 3 class and level 20 to get best results. I made a whole video on it. I never said that you should be crossing between ALL Tier 1s either. It very much is worth the effort for battles and questing and isn't hard to accomplish.

    Noticed when changing class knight is far less useful. I try and use every knight. On harder difficulty. It’s hard to give up a middle class in a group that needs that healer or spell user class. In a group of 3 sometimes it’s best. Or move knights around. Found it’s easier to let them be till 16. Then persue other classes but some movement needs to happen as far weaker low tier. On hard difficulty can easily get fucked up. Usually I form a team. One healer. One dps and one tank. It’s a pain in the ass to try and switch a healer😮 into a dps or tank. So avoid it.and focus on monsters. To take those role’s.
    My point is if trying to switch from dps to a tank for example. Need to move troops around. And be ready, baby it till useful .for 5 levels at least.

      It's not less useful if your monster team is able to compensate for the loss your leader takes when switching classes. Example, if you lose any healing abilities after switching, then Unicorns/Angels can more than make up for that. You shouldn't be switching classes anyways before mastering Healing Spells. The idea is to Master your Class so Spells and Passive Abilities carry over. This makes it far easier to switch classes without losing support from the previous. Also, consider a leader's stats before making a change. You would never want to cross a low STR Mage into a Tank or Melee DPS (unless you want to experiment). You don't always need the "Holy Trinity" of Tank/DPS/Healer on your squads. Monsters are meant to fill those roles that are lacking.

      I think the Monk models look the weirdest. I get the low budget argument, however some of these need an overhaul, lol. Still got some time though before release. We'll see. ;)

    do you think raising knight level is better from the new Training Ground feature or bring them to battle? in the old game I remember there was not that feature and only way to raise knight is we have to bring it to combat.

    • @TheStellarArcade
      @TheStellarArcade  4 роки тому

      Training Grounds seem to be really effective until a knight reaches level 11. My strategy would be to train them to level 6, change class, then level to 11. Enlightenment Scrolls are ideal here so you can cross at level 5 and stop the training grounds at level 10.
