    I had an amazing hike to Norways most iconic landmark, the Pulpit Rock, Preikestolen, earlier this month. Preikestolen is a “free standing” ledge/plateau leaning out over the Lysefjord, in Rogaland, with a 1982 ft straight drop into the fjord, offering incredible and gut wrenching views of the fjord below and surrounding mountains. Its a classic destination and I had the most wonderful weather to get the most out of it and filmed it all in 5k resolution. As a bonus I got to drive the deepest and longest sub sea tunnel to get to the trailhead. Enjoy!!

    Very cool and beautiful hike. That part of Norway seems to be like the Sierras, all granite.

    Thank you Jarl for a very realistic experience. It was breathtaking and allowed me to experience what it is like up there. I have a fear of heights and would not make it up there to enjoy the view, but your video brought it to life. My legs actually went numb just watching the videos. 😳👍👍

    N I’m Jewish. We ALWAYS have something to say.
    If I had freedom n were n a bit better shape I would do this n go there. I even think I would lay n one of those nooks n sleep under the stars. I love this place now. I would most surely feel closer to Yeshua n my son Shane if I were there. I know they r n my heart but just this PLACE !!! 😮
    Can u drink from those puddles of water up there ? They look fresh.

Every video I've seen of the rock shows hundreds of people milling about on top of the rock. Just gorgeous views 360 degrees! The fact that a new trail was made by sherpas made me think old trail was more demanding and perhaps environmentally not sustainable? Have had the opportunity to visit Norway twice but never here. Very enjoyable but there is more exposure on that trail than I realized. Sure is an awesome Sherpa-built trail with some nice sections of landscape. Glad you captured your Norway 🇳🇴 hikes for us!

    • @NorwegianXplorer
      @NorwegianXplorer  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Michael, you can avoid most of the exposure if you want to, the Sherpa trail is great and saves the terrain from all the erosion that would have happened on such a high use trail. Thanks for watching!

    What an awesome video. Thanks so much for this. I will be there in July 2021 and I really hope that we can travel to Norway due to the Covid situation then. I’m glad to see you found a day with beautiful weather and few or no people out on the rock. I’ve often thought that preikstolen should be renamed peoples rock since there are usually so many people on it. Those Sherpas did a beautiful job on the trail as they have in so many places in Norway. If you ever see them there please send them to Arizona as we need help with our trails.
