So buckle up and prepare for takeoff as we recount the story of this classic series.
The show originally aired on CBS and after the original series was cancelled, a fourth season, with an entirely new cast and on a much smaller budget, was filmed in Canada for the USA Network.

In an episode of Airwolf, a man pulls a gun on Stringfellow. Hawk responds by throwing his hot coffee in the thugs face...always remembered that. Laast year when my roommate went mental and attacked me in the kitchen with a knife, I used the same coffee defence. it worked a charm. The show saved my life hahaha

Trivia for diehard fans: In the opening credits is a scene of Archangel playing polo, which never shows up in any episode. Alex Cord is a serious equestrian and played polo competitively at the time. While the series producers were making the opening montage, he suggested they come film him playing polo as a way to cheaply pad out the title sequence with a cool action shot.

The fourth season was produced by a different company, The Arthur Company. We did get the full-sized non-flying set, the VFX models, all the flying footage (including a lot of outtakes) and the costumes. To be fair, the Bell 222 the original show used was a pig to fly with the greeblies strapped on (they could be removed and the chopper flown normally.)
We had a budget of about $3.23 an episode.

I was reduced to making paper airplanes and writing Airwolf on them. I’d draw the turbo boosters, missile launchers, and machine guns on with magic markers. Yeah. It's good someone is looking back into this one of my favorite series, which has been long overdue: There was meant to be a documentary on Airwolf a few years ago, but nobody seems to know what happened to it's development, not even Mark J Cairns who spurned it (along with releasing a reproduced soundtracks CD set), as he 'wasn't in charge of the project'. Does anyone else know what happened to it?

      That's a very good question.
The last I heard about it was a post on Facebook stating that it wouldn't happen. Though I'm not entirely sure why. As far as I understood it, a lot of the filming was already done and it was mainly a question of editing it all together.

Could also leave the atmosphere for a short time, freezing out the computer system.

Moffett's Ghost. They depressurised the cockpit at high altitude freezing everything inside to cut out the computer and regain control

Thank you so much for this video. This was by far my favorite show growing up! I never missed a episode. When it started third season on USA my heart was broken. Even as a kid I knew I was being ripped off. Great video!

1880's TV: Ernest Borgnine and Jan-Michael Vincent in a super helicopter.
2010's TV: 3 guys no one has heard of pretending to be nerds.
And they wonder why TV is dying.
