Just looked up scrap stores near me and there isn’t any unfortunately which is a shame, although my husband might be relieved! 😂. What a brilliant idea to use that rubber. It is looking so good. Great tutorial as well foe anyone who might want to do similar.
What a shame you don’t have anything similar near you. It’s a great resource and I love the fact that it stops things from going to waste. Thank you for co tinting to watch. ☺️
I am not sure where you’re located, but in Durham, North Carolina, there is a similar scrap store. It is called the scrap exchange. It is a treasure trove of all kinds of things. You just never know what you’re gonna find.
Thank you so much for this series it has been amazing to watch. I've been given a tudor style dollshouse and had no idea what to do with it now thanks to you I have so many ideas. I've never had a dollshouse before so its big learning curve.
I’m so glad you’ve found the videos useful! This was my first doll’s house too ☺️. I hope that you have lots of fun making things for it. 🤗 Keep in touch to let me know how you get on!
@thelittlemouseshouse Hi. The windows came out amazing on my dollshouse. I couldn't get the same stuff you did, so I had to draw the diamond patten on to acetate. It came out really well. I'm now using your technique on the floor. I found a brilliant ink stain that works really well with mini floorboards. It shows the grain but colours in one coat. Thank you again. I checked out my nearest scrap store, but they want £30 upfront for membership. Is that the same as yours?
@@anubisblueNK Thanks so much for getting back in touch with an update! Your windows sound fantastic. The stain for the floorboards sounds great! What’s it called? Awh.. no, my Scrapstore doesn’t charge for a membership (or at least it didn’t when I last went!). Do you then have to pay each time you visit?
@thelittlemouseshouse The ink is called Dr Phil Martin's Bombay van dyke brown India Ink. Lol, what a mouthful. It's from an independent art supply shop in my nearby town, but I'm sure it would be available online. The scrap store membership, I think, was a yearly charge and was only open on certain days of the year. Since starting this project, I've been collecting all sorts of odds and ends of packaging. I've made quite a few mistakes, but it's good fun learning what works and then having another idea.
Your videos were suggested to me last night, watched all of them and I’m super thrilled you already posted a follow up!! Congrats for your good taste! Greetings from Brazil :)
Wow thank you so much for watching them all! It’s amazing to think that you’re watching all the way from Brazil. Thank you for commenting - hopefully there’ll be lots more videos as I continue with the update! I’m planning on doing the kitchen floor and fireplace next! ☺️
We need Scrapstores here! What a fantastic place. Look at all that stuff that would otherwise end up in a landfill. I love how this turned out! I wonder if the roll of stuff you got is some kind of weather stripping.
It’s a super place, isn’t it! People have suggested it might be gap sealing tape of draught excluder. I think it might be some sort of sealing material used by manufacturers inside a bigger product, perhaps in windows or doors or something like that!

I don't think we have anything like scrap stores in the US. The store looked awesome. I'm happy you found some treasures.😊❤
Awh what a shame! I’ve had quite a few comments from people saying the same thing!
The brown rubber stuff as I'm sure you've found out is draught excluder. Unfortunately there's no scrap stores in Essex. Thanks xxx
Thanks. What a shame there’s none in Essex. It’s a great place!
The Scrapstore is such an amazing place! What a treasure trove for the miniature maker!
Brilliant, isn’t it!! 🤗 Thank you for watching.
Oh my gosh, I wish we had scrap stores in the US! Thanks for showing this magic place to us!
A lot of people have said the same! I wonder if there’s anything similar under a different name!?

It is looking so authentic. I've just looked up scrap stores near me & there is one about 5 miles away! Oh boy, what have you started?.....😂😂😀
😄 yey! Excellent news! Please let me know if you find any treasures 🤗

I love this paneling ❤
Thank you!! 😁
You did such a great job with the paneling! It really looks great!
Thank you! Some of it is a bit wonky but I think it adds to the character. 😅 Thank you for watching.

Also, the thing on the reel looks like gap sealing tape :)
@@guilhermecaldeira It might be! Im really glad I found it!
This was just genius!!! The paneling turned out beautifully. I can't wait to see what you get up to next:)
Thank you so much! 🤗

Looks wonderful. Greetings from Sweden.
Thank you. ☺️
Turned out so amazing. The rubber is called “tochtstrip” here in the Netherlands. Used in window and doorframes to keep the draft out. 😄
Thank you! Ahhh, thank you for the information!
love it .never heard of a scrap store will have to find on ...
Thank you! Hopefully you’ll find one near you. ☺️
Great video! Wish we had those shops in the US💜💜💜
A few people have said the same thing! It’s a good idea, isn’t it!
The paneling looks fantastic!
Thank you!! ☺️
Thank you from London...
The flooring turned out really well, I also love the panelling! I will have to look for Scrapstores near me, I had never heard of them!
I’ve since seen a similar rubber material in the shop Boyes. I think it said it was draught excluder, if that’s any help for you!
@@thelittlemouseshouseaw thank you, its an absolutely genius idea!
