Well there are always exceptions to the rule and this also tends to differ between cat races, as some are much more keen to such things as others and some can get very aggro quick, when the mentioned things happen.
But in general this is absolutely right and its not looking pretty, when the territory cat rips his copmpetitors belly to shreds with the fangs and claws and in turn, if you even think of touching them there, they would go berserk at you and even chew your fingers off...aka sink their fangs in.
Also Cats always have one goto person, which is usually allowed to go further than everyone else, so what you can do, can be seen as threatening to them with others and they will react accordingly.
Honesty these rules only apply to cats that you just adopted/got, bcuz surely a cat that has lived with you for a year or more will be friendly with you and BEGS for attention

Staring can be defused by long slow blinks and looking slightly away, which cats themselves do to people quite often. To people they just seem sleepy, but the cat is actually saying “I’m not hunting you, which proves that we are friends,” and they appreciate the same gesture in return.

Bro ive had a dog that identified as a cat before 😂, we had the cat first and after a while of having the dog she started acting just like the cat, to the point where she literally refused to eat her dog food and we had to switch her to a cat food, which yes CAN be bad but not automatically. @@VerkingKerng it often depends on the age of the cat and how they've been raised, very skittish cats do not like their stomach touched at all. if you treat your cat very well they may become more comfortable with belly rubs and what not compared to other cats. attention wise, most of the time they want what they want and again if you treat them very well they will want your attention much more than usual.
my first two cats do not like belly rubs except for from me, my next cat loves them and I think I learned a lot from the first two - all strays, the first two were thrown out of a car and the third one was hiding underneath my house.
I don't know why I explained cats like they're a new concept but it's too late now I've committed to it and in my defense it's 4AM.

My 5 month old kitty LOVES pets! Especially on her head, behind her ears and chin! She loves to snuggle up on my lap and in the crease of my arm, she even rolls over for the occasional belly rub! Lately she has been falling asleep in those places too! She purrs the WHOLE TIME starting from the first pets!!! This made me so happy and emotional, since I’ve only had her for 3 days hahaha! I’m glad I can make her feel this safe and loved in this short time!❤

Cats can be very different from each other.
What he's saying does apply to many cats.
A lot of us know cats that have different preferences, but there are many cats that have sensitivities or traits like the ones mentioned and some will have other issues that some cats have and some cats don't.
Please respect individual cats differences as much as reasonably possible, especially if it's a matter of discomfort for the cat.

I have a cat that craves attention all the time, one that rolls over for belly rubs often, and one that enjoys aggressive petting. Never had issues with staring into their eyes before or after neutering, nor have I ever been attacked by my cats for anything, just some light scratches when rough housing. Yet according to this video, statistically speaking, I shouldn't have this many examples of exceptions to the rule.
Please respect the individuality and differences of cats by bonding with them and learning their individual likes and dislikes.

No, it's the showing your belly that shows their trust, it's that they trust you not to attack. I mean your cat might just like belly rubs but you know.
This sounds like you have a stray feral cat as a pet.
Some cats LOVE belly ribs. When they allow you to rub their bellies, it shows they trust you enough to allow you to touch that "vulnerable area" of their bodies. And, some cats love lots of attention. It just takes determining just when your kitty wants to be left alone. Plus, my kitty doesn't mind being stared at, though we don't stare at her too long. She never gets aggressive with us when we stare at her. There again, it takes knowing your cat. Some might "hate" these three things, but, mine doesn't hate them because she trusts us. However, dilated pupils can mean they are upset or angry. .And, their tummies ARE vulnerable areas. That's why they have a sort of protective sac in that area called a "Primordial Pouch." And, my kitty is more friendly than most dogs I've ever come into contact with. 😻

Yeah they are probably wrong for most cats. I guess to much attention can be correct. The staring is really only true with other primates. Which is why it's funny/weird when a cat stares at you because when humans stare at eachother or monkeys in general it's a completely different thing.

I had to babysit a cat once for a month and honestly it was the most depressing month of my life and I felt there is one more person (or animal) who hates me i realised then I wasn't a cat person and tbh dogs are a 10000000000000000000000000% better

@@brisaquina8816 he doesn't mean it that way, it's like with cats and kittens and when they stare eachother down and then mive around, it's playful and eventually one zooms out of the room and then zooms right back in and stares, and then you zoom out and then zoom in and its a cycle. Some cats love it

I’ve had many cats. They all loved belly rubs, didn’t freak out over a stare, and craved my attention. My current cat doesn’t leave me alone. Constantly wants to be pet, rolls over asking for belly rubs.

Yup, the belly thing is true for some cats but not all. Mine loved belly rubs! Cats have different personalities and can like different things, I know, crazy right? 😂
Right? My cat asks for belly rubs, he usually comes to me for cuddles when I stare at him, and he's such an attention whore I literally have to carry him like a baby for 15 minutes every morning or he'll scream

These are not myths. However: 1. many cats will let you rub their tummy if they trust you. 2. Cats will understand after a while that you don't mean it like that when you starr at them

It’s a sign of trust. Slow blinking means you trust them not to hurt you between blinks.
Fun fact: if your cat flops over and lets you see their belly, they trust you.
