Amado Mio is a song from the 1946 film noir Gilda starring Rita Hayworth. It was written by Doris Fisher and Allan Roberts. Rita Hayworth was an American actress, dancer, and pin-up girl who was popular in the 1940s and starred in films such as Gilda, The Lady from Shanghai, and Cover Girl. Hayworth was married to the famous aviator and controversial figure Howard Hughes and would eventually die of Alzheimer's disease. Rita Hayworth also featured in the lyrics of Madonna's song Vogue - "Rita Hayworth gave good face" which according to Madonna referred to her characteristic glamour and poise . More recently the song was covered by American pop jazz group Pink Martini for their 1997 album Sympathique
