They ask or tell him to not film them. Then he starts acting like they're overreacting. He doesn't know if they're depressed or what kind of day they're having. When he was depressed did he want a camera on him? By a stranger? One would think Lofe would be considerate of other people.

You are completely right! I only mentioned being black and my age to exemplify just your point..That even though we are different in various ways, we all go through similar things.
