    You should really use all four screws. It has a ground why there are four of them. When you only have two in, the Fleepower is stronger and causes more oscillations. (Sorry for the Bad english, i´m an Austrian) And with the time the motors will come out of their mounts. You should always mount a motor as strong as possible. Just think of a Washmashine for your clothes. I know some people they mounted their motors only with two screws, they had all the same problem. Motors come loose and oscillations. It´s like the same you are mounting your Carwheels. So i hope i could help you. Best wishes and happy flying.

      Chris Ertel lol... yup yup, I don't see myself doing this to all my quads but wanted to try it on my problem child

      Chris Ertel it's not hype it's been show to clean black box logs and help get rid of minor issues. A good tune won't help you when your motor shafts and bells are damaged this should be used to mask out physical issues.

    Thats actually prop resonance. Flick one of the props and you can see all the other props resonate with it. Durable props have a real bad tendency of vibrating like that. I soft mount all my flight controller using those rubber bobbins especially when blheli_s came out since most of these vibrating problem starting occurring around that time.

      @EverythingNaus  7 років тому

      Steven Merrell I updated my firmware on the FC and ESC and it actually got a lot better yesterday, the soft mounting was to see if actually works on a noticeable vibration, but definitely was not the overall fix.

    How are the soft mounts holding up? Still liking it? Where did you get these? Or did you print them yourself?

    • @EverythingNaus
      @EverythingNaus  7 років тому

      Ray Choi yea these are still going strong. I got mine from bmc3d but you could have them printed by anyone using TPU.

      Everything Naus thanks ;) dunno anyone who had a 3D printer... So I'll probably order some.

    PLEASE READ!! I wanted to clear something up I should of brought up in this video. SOFT MOUNTING IS NOT A FIX!!!! as other have said in the comments the problem I am having here is a firmware/tuning issue. You should always first fix issues like these by making sure you have most up to date firmware and a good tune. I used this quad with these issue knowing it had a problem to see if soft mounting would have any results on this bad of a vibration and it did so soft mounting does work and can be useful to clean up a bad motors or take small vibration out after you have fully tuned the quad. Thank you again for the support and helping me get this quad smooth as butter!

      I agree, even perfectly tuned, this WILL help some of the noise in the gyro. However small of an improvement it might be. It's still an improvement.

    3 layers electrical tape can work but you have to be very precise how tight you make the screws you want to use threadlock and only just snug the screws.

    • @pantac4493

      Stephen Gibb tried that but 1mm tpu mount worked a whole lot better for me

    it looks like a perfect recipe to strip the threads of the motor ...

    • @EverythingNaus
      @EverythingNaus  7 років тому

      ! tomekyo nope, been running two screws just like some of the top pilots like Steele and have never striped a motor or lost one. just make sure you build it the way you like it and trust it!

    you ESCs touching the carbon?

    • @EverythingNaus
      @EverythingNaus  7 років тому

      Nope, the carbon arm has a foam pad and electrical tape between the ESC, then heat shrink to the arm. This issue you see has been solved and you can see in this video where I explain! ua-cam.com/video/ojlrOqCPdmI/v-deo.html

    you attach the gopro with a velcro to the front... no protection? why

    • @EverythingNaus
      @EverythingNaus  7 років тому

      In this video you will see both a foam wedge and later 3D printed mount. both do leave the go pro a little open to damage so I do use a silicone cover in bright red to protect it or find it if it ejects! you can find these on Amazon if you search Silicone cover for gopro session. You can also see pictures of this on my Instagram instagram.com/nausdesign

    How high are your D's? Maybe try lowering them quite a bit and see if the motors run smoother.

    • @EverythingNaus
      @EverythingNaus  7 років тому

      Blindside FPV Thank you, your are correct that will help, I used this quad as an example knowing it needed a better tune to first see how well soft mounting worked. I later went back and retuned and it even better now. I wish I would of explained that better in the video! good call though thank you.

    The motors should NOT make this sound. They are micro-oscillations and WILL burn the enamel off the motors over time. Flash the FC to a different firmware and set the LPF_filter to HIGH. The idle should be very smooth, the so called "idle resonation" is not a good sound to hear.

    • @EverythingNaus
      @EverythingNaus  7 років тому

      Flux FPV Thank you I'll check into it, I have been fighting it for a while on my 5in I am running same firmware on 6in with no issue but I'll try to reflash on the quad in this video. soft mounting did smooth it out but nothing a proper tune should of not fixed first!

    • @EverythingNaus
      @EverythingNaus  7 років тому +1

      Flux FPV Thanks again, I knew I was running the first beta with Dshot so I upgraded the firmware on the FC & ESC and wow silky smooth now on arming. Again Alway better to fix the issue the right way before assuming soft mounting will fix it. on other hand soft mounting did prove to take some shakes out lol!

      Everything Naus I had this same exact vibration problem on my quad (before soft mounting was a thing) about 3 months ago and i just increased the d low pass filtering (so i lowered it from 100hz to 70hz i think) and also increased the filtering on my gyro lowpass filter (decreased about 10hz i think, not in front of my computer right now so idk the exact values) but anyways try playing around with those filters and I think it should help. :)

    • @EverythingNaus
      @EverythingNaus  7 років тому

      Sputtelkopf yea I could get that for you, I have fixed this issue with a firmware upgrade on the kiss FC and ESC. I could of lowered my PIDs to also change this but it was bad firmware

    • @EverythingNaus

      These where 3D printed from BMC3D.co He does really good prints. Also if you know anyone with a printer and can do TPU that will work.

  • @1087kyle
    @1087kyle 7 років тому

    droneplastics.com has some that are made out of ninjaflex and it is softer than tpu. feels almost like rubber just figured I would throw that out there for anyone interested.

      Everything Naus no problem! I was having some yaw twitches caused by vibration getting to the gyro and they smoothed it out and got rid of the twitching.
