Sea fishing Normans Bay Pevensey on a very hot day

- Beach fishing at Normans bay in Pevensey opposite the camping and caravanning site on a bank holiday monday.
Arrived at 7 in the morning and fished the tide up and then back out into late evening to try and connect with a fish.
Struggled all day to catch anything and the day was saved by a friend of mine that I was fishing with called Andy who caught 3 smooth hounds, a pout whiting and a dogfish saving the blank. We were using whole squid baits on pennel rigs and fishing about 10 metres apart. he started registering bites at the top of the tide and then started catching fish.

Well done Andy 👏 Paul take it in your stride, I think because you’re so eager the fish can sense it 😉relax and take it all in, the fish will come. And take care of that cushion now 😂 Tightlines

Great vid Paul, the fishing is still enjoyable as long as someone catches I find , really enjoying the vids , looking forward to the next one , id like to get out and fish a bit more often. I reckon you're due a good haul maybe a few double figure hounds , be lucky 👍
Thanks fellow makes me happy and enjoy that others enjoy me fooling around. Have got quite accepting of not catching and will be over the moon when I do. Sod’s law that I bring Andy along and he catches but only right that the guest does. He is a coarse fisherman generally and fishes at the coast occasionally and last he went was two years ago so really happy for him. Out again to Selsey east beach at weekend armed with peelers and squid 🦑 🤞🤞cheers Paul

Weather was good on both days and gentle breeze but prefer overcast conditions and Ross did really well which cheered him up as he was getting really unhappy with the weed take care cheers Paul 👍👍 and it defo was the toothpaste
Paul, its definitely pheromones. Next time you go, as an experiment ask Ross or Andy to bait your hooks. If they catch so will you, guaranteed!
I will wash my hands in bleach, wear my dogs blanket on my head, eat a raw onion and will get Andy or Ross to bait up. Andy defo coming with me on Saturday and Ross just messaged he will probably come if missus doesn’t want the car Cheers Paul

Thanks Stephen felt a tad rinsed last night at 11.20pm and cannot tell you how annoying it is starting to imagine bites. I wonder if fish can feel my desperation 😂 not to be deterred am going to Selsey Saturday winds light westerlies and there is always next time 🤞🤞🤞🤞cheers for the support Paul
Paul, You obviously don't drink enough real ale or wine to attract the fish! There's no shame in having a blank when there's only string doggies around. Go for the next size up on the pillow under jumper, I did. Expect better towards In September when the water's warm you'll catch more. Drink and be happy. M &S are desperate for your clothes custom and the fish can't see you fattening up👍
Peter thanks for the great message and really cheered me up as getting to be a bit of a fishless joke at work 😂😂 I will definitely go for next size up when next at M&S as my wife keeps going on about it, am trying the real ale suggestion with some beer called proper job from down St Austell way I think. Being a masochist am going to Selsey tomorrow with Andy and then Shoreham Sunday with Ross as it is his birthday today and he was going to have a wine or two 👍👍take care cheers Paul
Hi paul you ok. Was andy using different rigs to you or bait?? . Or was distance key ,or was you both casting roughly the same. Sometimes its just the gods i think lol. Keep plugging away mate. Would love a shout out , all the best mate from grimsby.
Hi Carl, Andy and I were using same baits clipped down pennel rigs squid mainly whole presented in a nature way and he possibly closer in and fishing a gully but we were only metres apart. Am going again Saturday with Andy to Selsey and be interesting to see what the results are. Then out Sunday with Ross haven’t decided where. Bloody frustrating but there is always next time cheers Paul
