They don't give credit to so many people of color of discover or work to the technologies that we have today. It's not a skin color thing, its an erasure of history thing. I don't believe in the history months as we should be doing a far better job at educating our youth in everyone's history, however I do believe at this moment they are essential to truly educate. We have those months because of the forgotten voices demanding to be heard and not erased, so currently they are needed as a sad fact of America's lack of properly educating.
So much non-white history is glossed over. It occurred to me that my biggest exposure to black history was when I read an autobiography about a black woman in 6th grade but it wasn't assigned by the teacher. I read it because it was a lot of points for Reading Counts.
