That car is 100% ahead of its time regarding design. Even today, it looks amazing!!! Will be hard to find a clean example as time goes on... so prices will only keep climbing. Great vid
Cam at Petit does good work. He has worked on my car as well as Kilo Racing. Both shops are great Kilo is into drag racing and pettit is into street performance and roadcourses. The car looks great. 5 year price prediction 45k in 10 years 60+. If you ever get a chance to drive an fd you will understand why people want them. Oh reliability well a well maintained fd will last well over 100000 miles.
@@worldofthunder stock twins well push 400-450whp not crank. Im currently building my 99 fd rn with stock twins. vmount, exhaust, ci, rx8 rear diff and meth kit welll take you to 400-450whp
@@Thomas-bk6me Stock twins well past 400RWHP - 450RWHP? Not really as only a handful of guys have been able to BARELY achieve 400rwhp out of their stock twins and their turbos never last very long. In other words, the exception and not the norm. The reality is that the Hitachis HT12's (aka stock twins) become easily compromised past 15psi (~330-350rwhp) because they generate lots of heat. So at ~18psi (400rwhp ish) it doesn't take very long before the turbos start smoking or end up grenading the engine due to the high intake charge. What you probably heard about the twins normally reaching 400-450rwhp, was most likely in reference to BNR turbos. Where they use the stock housing but the cartridges are swapped out. Now those turbos are designed for that kind of HP. However, past 450RWHP only a handful of guys do it. Why because there are much better choices out there. Actually you are going to need a lot more mods than that to reach 400rwhp. You are looking at at least CAI, IC (vmount not necessary its just the best of both worlds), ECU, fuel pump, upgraded injectors, boost controller, DP, MP, exhaust. I also suggest porting your engine. Not necessary but it makes it easier. Now depending on what ECU you use will determine if you need to upgrade your ignition, AI is only necessary if you plan to maximize the stock turbos or reach 400rwhp with the BNRs. However if you decide to upgrade to a single, 400rwhp is achieveable without AI but not much past that. How do I know this? I am a long time owner of a 400rwhp FD that I modded from stock.
I hope it’s goes sky high!!why?I have a 93 R1 with 16,000 all original and bone stock...I have only bolted on staggered rpf 1’s but I have the stock wheels and tires in storage..I have been offered 60,000 from a retailer that say there is room for profit..he say he can 80,000 for..but I didn’t sell
Check out Pettit Racing for all your rotary needs, they worked on this car. They know everything about rotaries and treat your car like it is their own!
Random person depends what is on hand, at the moment there is a prestine 20k original mile FD about to go up for sale and also just got in a RHD FD RSR edition that needs a lot of love but will be a hell of a car when it’s done, come by and check em out
180k....damn!! I recently stumbled into an all orignal fd build date 01/92 and titled 93. Silverstone grey with lipstick red interior (rare color combo) 30k miles. Purchased from original owner! I may have just obtained a huge turn over investment!!
You guys are super low energy, if it wasnt an rx7 i wouldnt have watched. the way you talked about it no enthusiam or smiling.. You definitly need to work on it

Thanks brother!
Nice work, I drive a 438whp sequential twins Spirit R, #548.
It's a crime against humanity to rice these; I'm glad somebody has good taste.
Very tasteful
Great review, the car is ahead of it's time in terms of looks & engineering!
The fd will forever be timeless
Agreed
The intro is awesome!! Love the FD! Super clean build.

Indeed!
I’m at 134k and counting with same mods.
Where did you get 400hp from? That's not 400hp. Looks nice but someone should take you out in a 300hp FD RX-7. It sounds and feels very different.
RE I’ve been in the car, it’s 400.... when you ride it in you can decide how it feels

So when are you going to drive mine?
Well now that there an offer on the table we can definitely discuss. I’m serious...
5 years maybe $180, RX3 just sold for $130,
