UPDATE- We have found that every 4-6 hours of oiling is excessive. Juki Junkies recommends you oil all 6 oiling holes (4 holes on top, and 2 on the throat of the machine) 1-2 drops every three-four months. That is it! You can also oil the hook of the machine every full bobbin change (1 drop.)

Thank you for the update!
Your presentations are well done, informative & a valuable resource. Thank you. I have had my TL-18 QVP for 3 1/2 years & love it. It's a great machine & a real work horse.
Thanks, a great video with wonderful details on cleaning that will be helpful for all my machines. And I LOVE Glide thread, so glad you carry that and offer bundles for saving a bit.
Of course! Thank you for your support and feedback ✨
Thank you! Very helpful video
Excellent! Saved me a lot of trouble with very clear instructions, thank you very much!
You're welcome!
I am so happy that I found your site! The way you teach is excellent. I'm going to be purchasing up a step from my Singer Confidence Quilter to the TL series, and I know from watching you that you are going to be a good resource if needed. The TL series has been rumoured to be the work horse, and I love the fact it is all metal except for the side. Adventure awaits!
You are so welcome! Let us know when youre ready we will be happy to help you out :)
Very informative, thank you for this cleaning video. I will be cleaning my TL-18 the next time I use it.
Thanks for the good instruction on where to oil the bobbin area. I could not see from the book or elsewhere where exactly to place the oil in that area.
You are so welcome. Visit us jukijunkies.com/
Thank you so much for this video!
Glad it was helpful!
This was an excellent video, but then I expect no less from Juki Junkies :) Thank you, Boki!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Juki junkies. LOL. There's a whole sewing machine community that's grown up around their love of these fabulous machines. I always wonder, though---what have you sewn?? Clothes, drapes, upholstery, quilts?? I would like to see some finished projects as part of these vids.
I had no idea I was supposed to oil the bobbin casing. I have been using my TL 2010Q for a year now. I have ordered everything you suggested from you website to clean and oil my machine properly. I will also be purchasing the DX-7 from your site when I am ready to buy my new machine, thank you!
I’m so happy you’ve found us! We are happy to help. & sounds great! The DX7 is a beautiful machine. Give us a call if you have any questions :)
This is very helpful. Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome!
I’m new to this channel, not new to Judi Junkie shop, they are awesome.

Great video!! 😊👍🏻
What could cause the needle to hit the plate? Thanks!
Hi. When sewing thicker fabrics needle flexion takes place and can hit the plate. The thick throat plate helps with this:

Juki Junkies thank you for the info!! 😊
What IS the correct position for the bobbin case spring? Mine fell out and I don’t know how to put it back in….
Watch this I go over it in this video ua-cam.com/video/EEEM9k8jWdY/v-deo.html
Where can we get auch cute stickers for the machine? I‘m not finding anything similar in Germany…
You can find some on Etsy.
This is very helpful. Some day would you please show how to refill the pen with oil? I have the 2010Q which has a couple of extra holes on the base of the machine. I have used GE Designs ruler stickers (or any stickers would do), to indicate which holes require the oil so I don’t make any mistakes. Thanks so much for all you do!
The cap of the pen unscrews and you just refill it with the 2oz bottle or 6oz and screw the pen cap back on :)
@@davidwilson7217 Thanks! That’s what I thought, but I haven’t been able to get the cap off. I’ll keep working on it.
@@karenlea5292 it’s just the silver cap that comes off it’s the point. I’m going to upload a video on it for you

To oil my Juki Tl2000qi can I use just regular sewing machine oil? Thanks!
Yes, absolutely
Hi. After doing this, does the machine still need a yearly professional cleaning/oiling?
I would never recommend to not bring it in to a professional for a cleaning. However I don't think its as necessary if you do this cleaning often and its running smoothly. Maybe bring it once every 1.5- 2 years instead :)
By the way, I went to your site to check out the ‘Tri-Flow’ oil pen and because I can’t purchase it right now, I was hoping to save it until able to buy it. Is there an account signup on your site? If not, I’ll return later to make a purchase. 🌸
Don't worry we wont run out of those :) We stock a bunch! You can make an account on the website but it doesn't reserved items unless checked out.
Opps! I've had my tl2010q for a year now and have never oiled or cleaned it 😱...
Thank you. It would have been helpful if you had addressed “how”to fix the needle from hitting the plate and causing the scar marks.
Sewing with the thick throat plate is the how to. Here is the Link: jukijunkies.com/product/juki-tl-throat-plate-for-thick-fabric/
what type of swabs do you use? There isn't a description of the type on the website. Are they lint free? Cotton or polyester or micro fiber?
I believe they're like micro fiber. They're great at grabbing lint and pulling it out :)
What would cause the throat plate to have burrs from the needle hitting it? It's a straight stitch machine so the needle can not move from side to side.
A needle will flex while sewing heavier layers. A larger hole allows the needle to have more clearance while a regular stitch plate can be damaged.
Thank you
On your tri flow pen . Oil not coming out . I unscrewed too and ran warm water in it but nope still nothing
Contact sewingmachines411@gmail.com and we will help you out :)
I haven’t been able to remove the screws near the foot.
They shouldn’t be on there too tight. Make sure you turn the screws the right way and use a small flat head screw driver.
If you are talking about the screw for the machine foot, mine was very tight from the factory, also. Turn the top of the screw toward the back of the machine. Once I finally got mine loose, I wiped just a touch of oil on the screw threads, so it would not be hard to do again.
@@rogerpeggywheat1630 I will try the oil on the top of the screw. Maybe it will help. So far I have roughed up the screw head. I do clean from the bottom.
Another tip would be to use a larger screw driver for this first removal. It will give you a better hand hold.
ok now im totally confused I just watched how to oil and he said oil every 3 to 4 months here you saying every 3 to 4 hours. What is the right amount to oil?
3-4 months is the updated information we have found
You talk too fast.
I am currently working on slowing down... When I talk about things I like I talk a little fast :/

Or maybe you listen too slow? 🤔
I myself design the traditional Nakshikantha of Bangladesh, our Nakshikantha here is all hand stitched and very beautiful stitched.
Since I design myself, I have no need for sewing machine designs. I would draw the leafy flower design on the fabric myself with a pen and sew it on the sewing machine using only free thread. So please tell me which machine will be good for me in low budget.
Thank you❤

After making several bowl cozies, I noticed lint and ‘dust bunnies’ that were created by the batting used in making them. Time to clean 🧼! 🧵🪡
Great idea!
