Nice video. Problem is the older models of the Kohler command pro found on John Deere commercial mowers are way different. The drain plug device is virtually impossible to reach. It is wedged into a tight space almost touching the frame and in a spot that you can't squeeze anything into except two fingers. You can't get your hand into that space to use the "Push in and turn to the left" dohickey drain plug device. You simply can't get any type of pliers on the thing to get it working. How do you get the oil out? Two options: 1. Remove the filter and let the oil run out of the filter housing. Next, jack up the opposite side of the 562 pound mower until it is almost perpendicular and let the oil drain out of the oil filter housing that way. It is advisable to make sure the gas tank is empty before doing that. Don't let the mower tip over. 2. Simply replace the filter without changing the oil.
After 20 minutes of operation (motor cultivator) the engine (Kohler CH395) starts to give and reduce gas and then shuts down. After that it will not light up for 5-10 minutes. Most likely until the engine cools down and then starts again and runs for a while until it shuts down again. What is happening?
Seems that Woodland Mills when they have an issue burry their heads in the sand. I will be sending everything that I purchased from them back. They are screwing me out of 300.00 worth of shipping and won't credit me back. Terrible customer service to say the least if you ever have an issue. Who needs to deal with that. Not me. Buyer beware. Im having to call my credit card company to file claim against them. 4 weeks now and they still have done nothing to resolve the issues.
The "second" dip stick is for the gear box oil. It is to be changed out every 50 hours.
Any reference on that? I'm pretty sure they both go to the same cavity
@@matthewolson8875 You are correct. Both dipsticks go to the crank case. For different applications one filler or the other may be more convenient.
@@peguy1490 having hard time finding video of crank case oil change on a kholer command, any help?

I dont know. I would post the question on a small engine forum
Is there a oil filter that needs to be changed?
No
Hi!!! How many litres does it need???
I don't honestly remember. I just filled it until full if I recall.
Sorry...it is mentioned at the end of the video. ...1.1 quarts
How do you like that engine? I noticed that it's made in China, any issues?
smokeya2 it's been good. quiet and smooth. no worries at all...and I've used it for a bit
Still seems far better than those junk Briggs and Stratton engines something is always wrong with them
