Yeah, I was seriously considering this but the restriction on sleeping on the diagonal is a dealbreaker for me. Not worth the risk for such an expensive piece of equipment right now. It sucks because I really like the concept, especially the weight savings you get from a single bag sleep system instead of an under- and topquilt. For now I'm going to continue looking for a winter underquilt, and I'll just keep my sleeping bag as the top for now... It's a lot more volume and weight, but sleeping on the diagonal is the absolute best in a hammock and I'm not going to trade that in.
Worth every penny. I've taken my 0F mummypod down to -8F. I do take a down jacket in with me, but not worn, I use it to supplement the neck baffles (like a big scarf) for the draft issue mentioned in the video as I alternate sides.
Thanks for the review. May I ask what length hammock you use and your approximate height? I received a 9f Outdoor vitals hammock and standard length mummypod for Christmas. I am about 5'10". I have never used a hammock before. I set it up in my backyard and lied in it and feel compressive shoulder tension. I'm sure there are many things I'm doing wrong. Is shoulder tension normal? Thanks
Fairly normal for a pod style system. Leaving a little more slack in the suspension system helps. My hammock is 8'10" (Hummingbird single). Works with my system.
I want to see how you get into the bag with that setup. Also, is there enough room for diagonal, or do you have to sleep banana?
I have a similar system that I cobbled together. It locks you into sleeping banana, but you can lay slightly on the diagonal.
Dang it. Now I want one

How comfy were you at that temp? One of those nights where you get by shivering a bit or just totally fine?
Great review! Very smart and thorough approach. Thank you for the insight.
