The Spy Putty is a reference to Silly Putty; a kid’s toy that was somewhat popular at the time. One of the things you could do with Silly Putty was to smoosh it up against newspaper. When you peeled it off, some of the ink would come away with it, leaving a faded copy of the printing, without tearing the newspaper itself. The gadget here is that idea, but more sci-fi

Even though this wasn't one of the HE games I had as a kid the wave of nostalgia was still powerful. I loved these games as a kid and am so excited to have seen you give them shot this past year. Also, Walter in the American version is meant to sound like Walter Cronkite, a famous news anchor, which the British dub also skipped it seems.

TFW I realize I was playing the UK dub version the whole time. I live in America and I think I got my copy from Menards. They used to carry computer games years ago (the early 2000s) when I was a kid.
But seriously I played this with the British voices. I don't recall the American ones. I think that's why I was put off at the voice difference in my copy of "Poodle Galore."
I had an original game disk too. Still got it in a case full of other computer games. My Poodle Galore copy came in one of those colored "Kids Power: Fun for X" game disc packs.

As a kid I loved Hokus Pokus Pink (it was my first videogame if I remember right, in fact) and others, like the Math Blaster series (which I played it whit my even more little cousin) or The Great Green Mouse Disaster. I'd love to see you talk more about this niche!

When I first discovered the Humongous games (or well, someone I knew showed them to me), I was already a LITTLE too old for most of them. However, I find that Spy Fox is the only one of the bunch that's actually still pretty damn entertaining, even as an adult. I guess it's because it's the only game where you don't play as a baby character? I don't know, the gameplay is for babies, but Spy Fox is still good clean fun if you ask me.

I think thee thing that makes Spyfox stand out is that its a little higher stakes compared to other humongous adventures. This isn't jsut a personal problem for the protag to deal with, but a global one, and in th games that HAD antagonsts the majority of them were either misunderstood or merely misguided and willing to change their tune once they were given a talking to. But in Spy Fox the villains are, well, villains and generally irredeemable jerks albeit ones with silly methods.
William the Kid's plan may SEEM silly, but ultimately his wants to drive a monopoly over the milk market and take out all competiors via terrorism and frame jobs. Plus between the bull being fed to pirahnas and attempting to drown cows, you cna add attempted murder to his rapsheet. So...a bit of a step up.
Russian Blue could've been a bit mroe recurring, like have her be a henchwoman for hire for the various villains, kinda be Spy Fox's nemesis. At least she gets to be the villain in a spin off game, and doing an actual crime no less!
