I loved how he used his voice to simulate the trademark eerie keyboard beats in the beginning! This is a very ingenious and well-done cover of probably my favorite Bowie song ever. Especially with only a three piece for such a song that has so much going on sonically 🤙🏿
great stuff. If it weren't for Brie Howard Darling and a very long discussion about Night Line! where Davey Faragher plays bass on the Michael Jackson (not released for "Thriller") I never would've come across this video. Excellent!!!! and I will keep my eyes and ears peeled for this great band. Thanks Nellie's Videos!!!-- ps - Davey's bass is sooooo recognizable though I heard it first by recognizing the production by Quincy Jones.
You're welcome - and, it's Libbysvideos, not Nellie's Videos. :) Yes, Davey's bass is VERY recognizable. Jack Shit plays around L.A. several times a year when the band members are not busy touring the world and playing to larger audiences. As a matter of fact, Val just posted a photo of a crowd of 42,000 singing along with them!!!
sorry about misstating your video name! must've been one of my late-night fb sessions! Hope they get to the east coast at some point. It's been a pleasure letting other fans of music and musicians know about them.
UA-cam finally had the good graces to put this in my suggested videos feed. Thank you for posting this. Fanfuckingtastic! (which is pretty much what I expected when I clicked on it, because, well, I mean, it's Jackshit covering Bowie. What's not to like?)
Have to say that while I'm on a self boycott of all news, coming upon some really cool stuff in music, like this. Had only seen today about Val and Jack Shit👍
I got to meet Val's father-and kissed him after a play ("The Mousetrap") in Atlanta in '76. I wonder What he thought of your group's name? Just curious. Val looks like him quit a bit. Liked the music too.
This was ridiculous. The timing, the feel, the tightness, the singing, that delicious guitar solo. This was good shit. Ridiculously good shit.
There's video of them playing with Richard Thompson around 2012, just insanely good.
Davey Faragher is one of my favourite bass players. Also a fine vocalist, and producer. I love his work with John Hiatt. 🔷🔷🔷

Best trio I ever saw...all 3 of them are absolute killer
The sickest cover of this Bowie song I've ever heard you guys absolutely killed it!
My favorite band I've ever heard ever since the first concert of theirs I saw.
these guys are AWESOME!!! I wish I lived in US and had a chance to watch them live!!
I love this cover by デイヴィーファラガー
If I walk into that place and stumble upon these guys playing this song, I am staying for sure. Great version.
Uwielbiam Waszą wersję. Rewelacja 👌
Duckie's kid and Costello's bassist and drummer are sooo f'in awesome!!
Pete thomas is an excellent drummer ' great band
any cover of ashes to ashes always appreciated. this one is great.
A really nice write up on a freaking GREAT band.
This clip REALLY makes you understand what a GREAT drummer Pete Thomas is!!
Love it. Sounds great. Nice one. Really good actually. Music and voice. Space Cowboys.
:) It was entirely wonderful.
I'm blown away.
Yep. It was wonderful, wonderful!! :)
Increíbles !!! Gracias!
The coolest ! The best ! Thx Libby !

No problem. I hope you're able to see them too. :)
Bloody brilliant . Captured this puppy correctly
Inspired and inspiring. Dang.
Nice one ☝️
Pretty damn good for 3 man band. John like.

very very nice cover!
Outstanding cover
dope!
Love it, and the Rebel Rebel nod at the end..
Awesome!
WOW!
Great cover.
Grande homenagem a Bowie. 🇧🇷🇧🇷
Who needs Elvis Costello when you have David Bowie at the mike?
I love Elvis and Bowie the most.
Sorry, I am from Japan.
Who’s here because of Sam Jones? Doesn’t matter. Val and Jackshit are amazing! ✌🏼❤️🌞
who????
Fantastic. Rock on.
First time hearing this song done as a DUET. No bad
Davey's voice is great for this tune...wonder what he's doing with the g string during the verse tho...artificial harmonic?
They played this in Santa Barbara the day after Bowie died. I wonder if it was the first time.
I never saw them play it before his death, but, if I think of it, I'll ask them about that. It was very moving, and joyful.
And shockingly good.
Indeed.
@@libbysvideos Still hard to believe he's gone.
Bad ass!

Jackson browne. Val Mcallum?
Davey is (IMHO the second best Bowie Tribute Artist), BEST in USA is George Rumbol!
At least David Bowie won't be rolling over in his grave!
No, he will be sitting up in his grave. And tapping his foot.
