She called doing BEWITCHED was like going to college. Liz learned a lot about production. I saw a comment from somine who workrd on MY THREE SONS and they said that after five years, some of them got tired of the repetitiveness of a TV series. Liz didn't go braless throughtout the entire last season. This wasn't her first expression of her beliefs, in this case, women's rights. One of her first political opinions was when Liz came out against the Vietnam War, and received death threats. She was right. The Military Industrial Complex and politicians, at the time, lied to the American people, while their kids were getting killed and maimed. Liz continued her activism by supporting minorities, those with disabilities, Amnesty International, and was one of the first in Hollywood to support AIDS research and Gay rights. Elizabeth Montgomery was willing to do a nineth season, which it had been renrwed for, but it was Bill Asher who desyroyed their marriage. He cheated on her and she ripped into him. Liz said she'd do another season, IF Bill Asher were fired. Ackerman said that he couldn't do that. Liz said that BEWITCHED was done. This is from Harry Ackerman's son Peter Ackerman's new book on his father. He overheard the phone call between his father and Liz. To this day, he thinks of Liz as Aunt Liz. ❤

Toward the end of the show, the scripts were repeating themselves. Montgomery's marriage to the Producer of the show was on rocks. He was having an affair with one of extra's on the show. Montgomery began an affair with one of the shows Directors. In 1971, Montgomery and most of the cast had enough of the show and announced they would not return. The entire cast would have had to be recast. Instead, the show was ended, not cancelled.
Elizabeth Montgomery was a HUGE supporter of LGBTQ community. She would attend 'PRIDE' events with her TV husband Darren (not sure which one), but he was really GAY.
