In my speaking module I spoke like how we talk to someone we know. I dint use any advance vocabulary, any idioms or phrases, any complex sentences.. please everyone they are assessing how comfortably you are able to put your point, opinion or thought across ..do not stress just go with relax mind. Think examiner is ur friend n u r just sharing ur thoughts.. I did not prepare at all n I got 8 bands. If I can do it , all of you can do it too.. good wishes

Hey guys, don't worry at all. Just speak as you speak to your friends, no need of any fancy vocab. I prepared like I will speak good vocab n stuff, but during the test I panicked and just spoke normal English without any fancy vocab and even fumbled a lot. I also couldn't speak for 15 to 20 sec in part 2 due to lack of points. But still I managed to score 6.5. Just be confidential and speak as you generally speak to people.

I am an American, with 18 years of University education, both an MD and PhD. I have professionally published more than 14 scientific articles written by me. I am credited in correcting the language in 12 more. I have published 2 books, and edited more than 8 professional level textbooks. I have taken IELTS 3 times and I cannot get above a 7.0 in writing. Despite even getting 9s in all other categories.
I have an American colleague, a physician, who while attempting to find work in the UK, took the tests 14 times in order to get a 7.5
The British Council is essentially a scam designed to exploit foreigners. It doesn't stop with exploitation. Their exam is verified by nobody. They will not release any markups, and the grading criteria published is so ambiguous, there is no difference between a 6 and a 9 on the scoring record.
As if exploitation is not criminal enough. When you don't get the required score after the exam, they send you an advert to pay extra (a blatant extortion attempt) to be "rescored by an expert..." Who was scoring in the first place if one needs to pay extra to be rescored by an expert.
I have filed a Police complaint with my local authorities that the British Council, and its IELTS affiliates are a criminal enterprise, expressly operating to exploit, defraud, and extort money in an organized way.
I call upon the people of all nations everywhere, and all governments, universities, and professional organizations, to immediately and indefinitely, stop using, requiring, or recognizing the IELTS exam or the British Council. Using or recognizing IELTS is the same as recognizing and demanding people pay an extortion to a mafia.

@@longingsummers78yes he is making alot of sense. The IELTS is a trashy rubbish exam that doesn't reveal a person true grasp of the English Language. The fact that they make countries like Nigeria where the primary means of communication in educational institutions is English, write it is an exposè of their scam. Imagine that the listening test has recording you can't play twice meanwhile in real life conversations, sometimes, you require the speaker to repeat themselves.
Imagine if they scrapped that exam today in Nigeria, thats a huge loss of revenue. They are exploitative. It is sad that the British still use under handed means to manipulate us.

@@adjnaxsesIn some essays, I feel I can get pretty good score while I struggle in other types; My mind gets blank and I lose my calm in those ones. That's what I fear what if I get that one in exam which I find difficult to frame a good essay at the limited time. I have delayed my exam too much and I just hate writing.
