I miss this race so much. I was at this race and you look at the stands and they are packed! 2010 was a badass Kentucky 300 night race also where Helio won and Dan Wheldon would have, awe was just such a good race. RIP DW and JW we all miss you 🙏. I miss Chicagoland actually also. I miss Randy Bernard’s schedules and what he did for the Indycar series’s minus Vegas. These cars looked so badass. Open cockpit open wheel full rear wheel exposure 🤘 F-16 / F-18’s on wheels!🤙🏎🏁🇺🇸
I was at this race as a kid with my dad. He was a Helio fan and I'm a Dixon fan. We couldn't believe what we saw on that final lap. Really wish IndyCar would return to Kentucky. Kentucky, IMS and Mid-Ohio were the tracks my dad raised me at. Now I'm obsessed with motorsports. Good memories
as the fuwa fan, during the beijing olympics 2008, i really love how scott dixon wins meijer indy 300 at kentucky, so like how yingying's speed much like a athletic yellow panda, yingying is my favorite beijing 2008 mascot of all time, how scott dixon wins at kentucky after his indy 500 win, i love scott dixon and yingying, its been an indycar season and olympic seasons that have been ever in this video. -from the philippines
@@ryantunks Exactly: Half of the tracks should be ovals (both short ovals and superspeedways), and half of the tracks should be road courses (both street circuits and artificial circuits). Right now there is no variety in tracks.
What is Indycar doing wrong that they can't get these crowds anymore? I started watching Indy in 2011 and thought it was beyond F1 in terms of competition and entertainment. It's almost depressing to see these crowds only a few years earlier.
At most of these tracks to get the NASCAR ticket, you HAD to by the IndyCar ticket, which everyone did. After 2010 that deal ended and the crowds dropped.
Used to love watching these races. As someone in the UK used to watching road racing the speed and wheel to wheel racing was amazing. I know safety was a huge issue and they became economically non viable but even one more non short oval could help balance things out.
Good to remember... back then TK renewed his contract for 5 more years and he was the dorsal spine of the team... three years later he was dumped by the same team after the departure of the sponsors.
This track NEEDS to come back
Expecially now- our economy is set to lose millions

Been to this track. Wonderful track. Wish it was back on the schedule. Wish there was a 20 race season.
This needs to be the last race of the Season. Not Sonoma.
Run Ronaldo Run #THEBESTINTHEWORLD
Totally agree. Thought that myself before.
yeah there is long list of tracks they can go to other than Sonoma for the finale that's a real problem with the current IndyCar schedule.
Run Ronaldo Run #THEBESTINTHEWORLD
You are right. I hate having Sonoma being last race. I think it's sad.
We need more ovals on the schedule
I like the diversity of tracks instead.

One of the best finishes that season

Yep, after 2010 all the ISC oval tracks were dropped from the schedule
Bring back Kentucky and Chicagoland!
One of those race years it was so hot.

Amazing race! Thanks for uploading

I remember being at that race. It was actually how I got into Indycar
I was at that race that year.
Thanks for the UL. Better quality than my original.
22:11 Start of the race
Disclaimer: This is the 2008 Meijer Indy 300...
Este minunat spectaculos
kentucky was awesome for IRL action shame the track is no more
25:30 the tire hit her head
SOTAQUE DO HELINHO
Well done for the eternal spoil...
so glad to see the back of this track and most of these 1.5 mile snorefests...come on, dump texas
This aged well
@@jamescromarty1455 Yes, in that I still want Texas dumped.
Was a great race this year. Do you want even more street racing?
@@jamescromarty1455 Sure. Or ovals that aren't 1.5 milers and super high banked.
@@SwineBrothers What's wrong with them? Also diversity of tracks is a big part of what makes the series special.
Danica only lead 1 Lap.
