    Methanol is the fuel that needs to be drained all the time and after run oil or gasoline run through it. Ethanol doesn't. People confuse them all the time, they are most definitely NOT the same thing.
    Been running E85 in my vehicles since 2007 when I converted a Qjet for my 70 GTO. Carbs, EFI, 60s, 70s, 90s and 00s. Water is not a problem, it just burns along with the alcohol. the only problems I have encountered were because of additives put in by the fuel companies. Thats what causes the chalky residue and the yellowish gel, its the additives. If it was in the ethanol, then that stuff would be left over when you finished a bottle of vodka, because its the exact same stuff.
    I park my vehicles in November and they sit to May, because where I live we get lots of snow (150-300 inches) and they salt the roads heavily. I pull the battery, check the antifreeze, and wait for the snow to melt. Until recently they sat under several feet of snow all winter. Now I have them under the lean to on both sides of my shop.
    The only way you could get enough water in the fuel to cause a problem is if you drove it into a lake, the ocean, or parked it under the downspout for the gutter on your shop/house... or you deliberately put more than 2 gallons of water in a 10 gallon tank.
    The fuel I make is hydrous 190 proof ethanol, from cattails. It has 5% to 10% water in it already, and I have zero problems with my home brew fuel. I can let it sit for ten years and its still good.
    The 65 GTO has been on E85/E100 since 2018, I use it to tune carbs I convert, when I'm not tuning carbs, it has a FiTech Mean Street on it. My 79 Formula has been on E85 since 2010, the 68 LeMans since 2015... and these last two are the only ones NOT running a factory tank and lines. Not because of the fuel, but because they have Pontiac engines that make over 700hp in them and the stock stuff won't keep up.
    Otherwise, cool video and that thing sounds nice. I prefer Clevelands in my Fords, but that is nice. Isn't it curious how they say you won't get rain and you're soaked and can't park stuff outside? They said we wouldnt have snow after 2012.. always amused at that.

    You can buy bakerlite in a sheet, if you need a piece to drill i could send you a piece big enough to do 2 spacers,

    Does the carb spacer have any effect on the airflow and or power curve?

    That's fkd by Edelbrock.. How could they not know their own product? I'd be on the phone to them in the US and telling them to fast track some out asap.... They could be here in 2-3 days..
    This looks to be a case of him being sold shit he did not need. Spot an Max he should have called you first to ask about the E85 headache and just tuned his carb for race fuel..To spend all that coin to have less HP is just crazy..

    As much as they “should have “ been setup from edelbrock
    The salesman is only going to give a stuff till the sale is made !
    When wanting a setup carb you would have to go to dedicated carb companies to get the carbs close out of the box and those carbs would never ever be anywhere near correct !

    Eveything is so hard .Never your fault cannot understand why people would leave their cars with your backyard shed. While crapping on your customers

    • @BoostGumps
      @BoostGumps  6 місяців тому +1

      I fail to see how any of these issues are our fault? lol, and crapping on our customers? how and where? The whole point of us pointing these issues out are to make the general public - ie; you, understand the issues with his industry/work. None of these issues could have been foreseen by either us or the customer, yet they are issues we have to deal with that cost immense amount of time. I could do what most others do, and pretend everything is dandy, leave out anything bad and edit it to seem like everything goes perfect. But then when people take their cars to a shop for a 2 day job, then ends up taking 2 weeks, they get pissy at the shop like it's their fault... Because they watch youtube videos where everything always goes well...
      If you can't understand why people choose us then you aren't the kind of person we would do work for.... We turn away more work than we take on, and still can't keep up.

      Mate with a comment like that you can tell you don’t work in a trade where your at the mercy of a supplier, at the end of the day there salesman they don’t give a fuck once you pay, it becomes someone else problem as far as there concerned.. This is one of the worst parts of the job, once a customer says they’ve got all the gear you just know something will be missing or just wrong, which makes your life harder…
