You just didn’t have as many stupid people thinking they could just be out driving around? The bud driver should know it’s not safe why are people so dumb? Stay the heck home…….all these vehicles will have issues soon.
Not unusual during monsoon season. Whenever anything >1” falls in a very short amount of time this happened. You are repeatedly told “ DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH STANDING WATER “ and still there are always people … driving through standing water.
Before doing this, do yourself the favor of locating the air intake for your engine. It's not a box or can on top of the engine, many of them snake into fenderwells and pick up rather low to the ground. If you suck up a snoot full of water, the engine will hydrolock and bend or break expensive parts. A good thing to know where it is and judge your depth accordingly.
It’s called “flash flooding” my friend. It’s impossible to anticipate or avoid hence the word “flash” in flash flooding. These conditions come on so sudden that it will happen while you are already out. Desert rains are something else. Most people don’t understand this type of storm becuase it only happens in the desert.
Water is the most power force of nature that exists on this planet, and it certainly shows in this incredible footage. God bless, that's some serious flooding there.
Looks like more possible today also. Burning man is a total mess. Crazy Crazy weather and we might have another Hurricane headed for us. I live 45 miles inland west of savannah
The problem is that once the sewer system drains get clogged in heavy rain, it really only take a hour or even less for the rain water to accumulate since it has no where to go. I do hope citizens of Las Vegas survive these dangerous floods.
People proceed on what they think is solid pavement, but what is NOT guaranteed is that a sinkhole has not opened up that is ten or fifteen feet deep and would swallow the vehicle whole. There are no timely rescues available for that kind of situation. This is east of where my dad lived. Wow.
Good thing me and my grandpap built a barrier using old tile and packed gravel and small rocks for a kinda beach head. Worked so good that we barely had any flooding compared to last year our house was flooded and we had to pull the carpet.
Props to the bus drivers that plow through the water. 😂 At least people got to where they needed to be. Hilarious how the city buses just drives through. Looking like a submarine when the water is half way up😂
I don’t understand why people have limited their vocabulary to only one adjective. That being the adjective “insane”. Please be thoughtful and not limiting oneself to only one adjective. Please learn to exercise the mind and one will be much wiser. Bless you all.
The location of that was is way above elevation of the city center. They’re at the base of a mountain which accounts for all the water which is coming in through a wash to small for the amount of water.
They key to driving through an overflowing road, is not to do it at all. You don't know what's under that water, if the road has been washed away, or if the weight of your vehicle will collapse it. Then you are screwed.
I'm thinking to myself why don't people move to higher ground or figure out that it's not worth driving into something that destroys your car. Please be better prepared than this in your lives. No need to drive into something thats going to damage your car. Higher ground. No more drought thats for sure.
Brah when sewer water is knee high you got more problems then just the weather. How about you go check on all those people you got living in the sewers @@jeffv3296
Would have been way worse without the flood control and retention basins built over the years. 2003 was a bad one for the NW valley....even the firefighters had to be air lifted for rescue
Unbelievable..the only consolation is although fast moving, its moving and not stagnant. Stagnant water which can reach rooftops..Moving waters means it draining. Wish the waters are caught and stored for drought situations.
Coverage could have been a lot better. There was little reference to what area you were in. Street signs were not shown well to indicate area you were in. All I could tell is you were on Lake Mead blvd but no idea where. Also saw footage that looked like it was repeated 3-4 times.
One could argue that climate change is a factor in and increase in total yearly precipitation for the area, but this flood was directly caused by a Severe Thunderstorm in the area that day.
Matt. 24. 20. For then shall be great tribulation such as was not since the begining of the world to this time no nor ever shall be. Jesus is Lord, call on him now, time is up.
This is God saying Judgment Day is coming Judgment Day is coming Judgment Day is coming this is what God is saying wake up and repent people get it start a relationship with God it's okay to read the Bible but if I was you I would start talkin to God himself and believing he sent his son down for yourself vacation if you want to be saved God sent his son down for your salvation you believe that you'll be safe and not judge it's time to wake up
Hey the roads are flooded let’s drive thru it. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
This is how it used to rain all the time in Vegas during the monsoons pre 2002 ish . Good to see it back again . Shades of the 70s and 80s.
You just didn’t have as many stupid people thinking they could just be out driving around? The bud driver should know it’s not safe why are people so dumb? Stay the heck home…….all these vehicles will have issues soon.
Hopefully washing out anymore dumbs as well.... The earth needs the water.
Yep it was the norm then! I remember 1997-1999 how common it was!
Not unusual during monsoon season. Whenever anything >1” falls in a very short amount of time this happened. You are repeatedly told “ DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH STANDING WATER “ and still there are always people … driving through standing water.
Correct!

where the F are all these people going? Do they not walk out to their car and think... ummmm... no?
It’s called “flash flooding” my friend. It’s impossible to anticipate or avoid hence the word “flash” in flash flooding. Funny how all these people need to drive in this!
Ive never seen so many people think their cars double as boats.
When you see those water just make a u turn. .
I'm not seeing any Tesla's driving around or Prius's for that matter.
Awesome coverage guys! TY.
Wait, the regional transit bus still have to pick people up in that condition, unbelievable!
Im a driver …yup… to an extent
You finally got your flash flood and very glad you have a calm demeanor it was gripping video
They weren’t in danger.
Question: Is it okay to broadcast this?
Looks like Northern India
That is due to both having sand and not enough useful topsoil and tree roots to hold water and topsoil down during rains.
This video was awesome. I was praying for you guys.
Water is the most power force of nature that exists on this planet, and it certainly shows in this incredible footage. God bless, that's some serious flooding there.
Rip to the homeless people living in undergrounds of las vegas
Lol
Hopefully they got to an exit .
They are gonna have to find a new couch though .
All those years of those commercials about not driving in flooded streets never sunk in.
Millions wasted
I see future cars with oil pan damage and leaks
This is the type of rain I remember as a kid. Finally that heat dome isnt over us and we're getting some moisture again.
Looks like more possible today also. Burning man is a total mess. Crazy Crazy weather and we might have another Hurricane headed for us. I live 45 miles inland west of savannah
Ah yes a flooded desert..i love it when a plan comes together
Oh great rain gods, please fill the dwindling Lake Mead.
The problem is that once the sewer system drains get clogged in heavy rain, it really only take a hour or even less for the rain water to accumulate since it has no where to go. I do hope citizens of Las Vegas survive these dangerous floods.
Excellent video. 👍👍👍

This is east of where my dad lived. Wow.
That was our biggest fear, the sinkholes. Very unpredictable, Great observation.
Nice job
No rain or way too much! Stay safe!
Imma be ah Island Boy 😂
Good thing me and my grandpap built a barrier using old tile and packed gravel and small rocks for a kinda beach head. Worked so good that we barely had any flooding compared to last year our house was flooded and we had to pull the carpet.
Why the flooding? Where is the water coming from lake Tahoe?
This is what concerns me about where the homeless congregate. That’s a dangerous situation.
Props to the bus drivers that plow through the water. 😂 At least people got to where they needed to be. Hilarious how the city buses just drives through. Looking like a submarine when the water is half way up😂
Lots of flood damaged, restored, used cars coming to the used car market near you soon!
In Arizona we were hoping to get all that rain.. It barely rained this year.
I was there, August 31 to September 6 it was so crazy. I’ve seen worse, but it was crazy. For all that we’re there 🙏🏼🙏🏼 hopefully you are fine.
How do electric cars do in flooding?
Why is the water so brown???? It's not as if this is out in the countryside. This is a city!
I don’t understand why people have limited their vocabulary to only one adjective.
That being the adjective “insane”.
Please be thoughtful and not limiting oneself to only one adjective.
Please learn to exercise the mind and one will be much wiser.
Bless you all.
Je penses que Las Vegas n’avait pas vu autant d’eau depuis longtemps ? Ça va faire du bien aux plantes. ❤😊
What happens to the underground city we hear about.
They get a cleaning
I work right up the street from most of this footage, thank god I was off on Saturday
Extremely dangerous to drive on flooded roads. What could be so important that you risk your life?! Stay home until it recedes!
The location of that was is way above elevation of the city center. They’re at the base of a mountain which accounts for all the water which is coming in through a wash to small for the amount of water.
Thanks for this I used to live there and never saw it this bad
If only this water can be saved for a rainy day? Ilmao😂
That box is a electrical transformer.
Every 10 years you get this … relax.. stay home when told to.
They key to driving through an overflowing road, is not to do it at all. You don't know what's under that water, if the road has been washed away, or if the weight of your vehicle will collapse it. Then you are screwed.
I guess Global Warming has returned the weather back to the 70-80s.
I'm thinking to myself why don't people move to higher ground or figure out that it's not worth driving into something that destroys your car. Please be better prepared than this in your lives. No need to drive into something thats going to damage your car. Higher ground. No more drought thats for sure.
Exciting :)
Any word on the people living in the tunnels. How many where loss.
Those cars going through the deep water, Fine if they make it, but if they don't, then responders have to risk their live to try and get them out.
Move to Vegas they said..
And where would you say is there perfect weather 1000% of the time? You act like Vegas is the only place that is subject to some weather issues.
Brah when sewer water is knee high you got more problems then just the weather. How about you go check on all those people you got living in the sewers @@jeffv3296
Thank you 🙏 I learned a while ago about ☔️ rain water 💧 💦 rise up and down please 🙏 stay safe 👍🌂count 💵🤷🏻♂️

Would have been way worse without the flood control and retention basins built over the years. 2003 was a bad one for the NW valley....even the firefighters had to be air lifted for rescue
I would make a u turn when I see the water. Because they could fall in. Flood holes in the road.
Lmaooo. You live in the desert? Not the rest of our problem
Flood in a desert city? is this unheard of?
No. Not during Monsoon season Tucson and Phoenix get it here.
Please ppl don’t drive Thur water it’s not worth I can’t believe how many bad decisions ppl make. The ppl that drove by the stoped city buses r crazy
Only the stupid people would drive through that and risk their life.
Is true? My fam live & north Las Vegas Nevada
Unbelievable..the only consolation is although fast moving, its moving and not stagnant. Stagnant water which can reach rooftops..Moving waters means it draining. Wish the waters are caught and stored for drought situations.
They are----every drop eventually goes to the Vegas Wash and into Lake Mead, it's helping the lake levels.

Coverage could have been a lot better. There was little reference to what area you were in. Street signs were not shown well to indicate area you were in. All I could tell is you were on Lake Mead blvd but no idea where. Also saw footage that looked like it was repeated 3-4 times.

Calmenla!!! Cada ano pasa lo mismo. Nada nuevo.
is this because of global warming
