Yes I know. Hakuouki is not in english on switch. Newer version in english is Kyoto Winds/Edo Blossoms and it’s PS Vita and PC The game exist on switch (Hakuouki Fuukaden) but not in english and I’m not sure it’s going to happen even though it got localized recently in chinese.

The more I play the fandisks, the more in came to “understand” takeda. Especially in Hijikata chapter 3 of Tsukikage no Shou (online in english) and the Saito route in Ten’un no shou (not yet online)
@@SaltyNeo I guess Takeda is similar to that of Chikage where he's bad depending how the writers want to portray him in a certain storyline. With Chikage, he's selectively kidnappy when it's not his route and apparently in Hijikata's route and the anime, Chikage is grapey soooo.... Consistently inconsistent. lol You gotta be selective on how you like your Takedas and Chikages

Takeda is a nuisance of an antagonist, you understand why in a sense but it doesn't excuse or justify him being an arse, and he never really changes (less you count Iba's route where he basically from bad to a million times worse). Kazama on the other hand gets a lot more development, and does actually have some redeeming qualities. The reason he's kidnappy is mainly due to inexperience. His whole arc is about learning to respect Chizuru as her own person, rather than just for her lineage and being his potential baby mamma.
@CMW1995 in one of the drama CDs that kumoriyami translated and posted on Tumblr and UA-cam, Kazama clarifies that he thinks that the Shinsengumi are keeping Chizuru as a hostage to force Kodo to return and work for them again. That's one of the reasons why he thinks he's kidnapping Chizuru for her own good. In some scenes in some routes, he's not interested in marrying her and only wants to kidnap her and separate her from the Shinsengumi.

Thanks for this, great video. Made me remember Chizuru was kinda a prisoner of the shinsengumi. Shinpachi is a pretty approachable guy, too.

I tend to forget Iba’s path exist. I don’t talk about Takeda in Iba’s path. He’s insane in that one.
