- London's large Jewish community are celebrating their festival of light, Hanukkah.
Tami Issacs Pearce, known as the challah queen, has run Karma Bread cafe and bakery with her sister in Hampstead, north London for eight years and every year uses different foods to bring local people, regardless of religion or background, together to celebrate.

Happy Chanukah from Surfers Paradise much love xxx
This cafe resonates karmically with me and the sprinkling of my late dad's ashes by the lakes. A ciabatta fell from the tree a year after the memorial and thereafter i spotted this new bakery on the Green years later. The logo was a tree. Methinks the angelic 🪽 🪽 realms are sending a message. I asked HaShem and angels to send a message after i visited the sprinkle site. Also, it's next to the House of Mistry pharmacy. Sounds like a House of Mystery. Weird or what!? Karma resonates throughout our lives. Also, who can watch the Chanukiyyah lighting without feeling tearful inside? When even being a Jew or being partly Jewish was a very dangerous business. Lighting this magickal kabbalistic symbol is a delight to behold. That British Jews feel secure enough to light the candles in the window without fear of reprisal, or even death, as evidenced in the annals of yesteryear. What a blessing for British Jewry it is to feel safe to be Jewish. 👼🕊️😇
The Jewish bakery in Finsbury Park used to be amazing 👌
Never got a chance to celebrate Hanukkah (or Diwali) yet... Have taken part in Ramadan and Chinese New Year though. I was raised a Christian and sometimes my primary school would do Passover, which I loved. I think it's because Jesus was a Jew, which made it relevant to us.
That was before I discovered the Jewish bakery, and could never have imagined Jewish breads tasting so good after eating those aulde crackers 🤣 (Matzos I think they were called?). Thank you to the Jewish community for bagels! And I know it's a cross-community food but I do intend to eat more falafels in the new year 👌
Love it I'm gonna visit
