Writing, recording and mixing everything yourself is soooo fulfilling. I learned how to record and mix during the pandemic, after playing for 20 or so years. I've made about 400 demos so far and I feel so much more confident with my mixing now. I cannot tell you how many hours of my life I've spent just listening to different mics in different positions

She does alot of networking, can't expect everyone to come to you. Until you get to a spot you like where word of mouth generates your paid gigs you need to keep on reaching out. She can get paid way more if she wanted to, it all depends on your lifestyle. Some are good with more, some are good with less.

  • @CreativeMindsAudio

This is actually pretty accurate. Which is sad since audio engineers with some clout would earn 80-100+k back in the early 90s/2000s. And I’m an audio engineer and earn a lot less than this from strictly audio, then again my client base has never let me go full time. If i did get that it would be about 60k. But that likely won’t happen anytime soon. I strong suggest not being an audio engineer since most people know the basics enough to mix themselves. And most studios have only a couple of engineers and most new studios these days are owned by the audio engineer. And having enough gear of your own is a LOT money to start a business along with a good space to record in.

Did song service once and I indirectly preach. We stream our headquarters service so it’s my task to stream them. A music school called me and said they have a work program. Their program is very expensive so he is talking about a an employment program I guess like an apprenticeship. Tomorrow I’ll hear the guy out.

Guys remember y'all have Internet, find someone relevant and if yall decide to go college it's mainly for the network and can open opportunities not necessarily to give you everything you need for the future those are the major advantages of college to be very honest, but you still can make.it once you research and are able to find a sustainable mentor, all the best hope this helps

Is good for her as an audio engineer and under graduate student, but for us as mixing and mastering engineer that amount of money just like one to 2 songs it can cost .

Hell no it's not too late. I'm going to be 30 in two days and I just went to speak to an advisor at the local community college so I can better myself.
Never think it's too late. You have this one life and you get to choose what path you take.
      Best of luck ✨

P.S.Y CLEZ there’s probably a music prod and Djing school in your city, go enroll in one they’re usually not expensive. The truth is that in sound jobs are usually underpaid therefore you should build a career path for yourself. If you want a simple answer for an easy route in this industry, that is to go learn how to Dj in a school in your city ( which probably lasts a few months) that way you can know how clubs function in your areas and network with people who will certainly find you gigs, which are usually not paid for at first, but as time passes you’ll probably get paid 500$ per night per average. One of my friends Did a gig in berghain for 30 hours switching with another dude and got paid 20k$. Secure a skill in Djing make quick money out of it save half invest the rest in building your production career and pay you bills 🤣.

@Ash Bajaj not a music college, a part time school. no DJ goes to a college, it's a waste of time and money.
