When I built this unit, Honda engines were impossible to find. Sprayer depot sold this pump fully assembled with Honda engine, but they told me I would have to wait 3 months to get it, so just ordered the pump and gearbox from them. Had to go with Predator engine, since nothing else was available. That engine has been working really good tho.
@@johnhall7940 We use lots of Chinese engines for our pressure washers. The Chinese horizontal engines are still not so good as Honda, but no problem for 2-3 years. This Predator should be made by RATO in China. They have that round corner air filter and muffler design.

I am running the same pump to and having problems getting my pressure over a hundred with trigger wide open with it set on number 4 is that normal. I feel like when I first got it I was getting 200psi
It depends on what kind of nozzle you're using. Small orifice will give you more pressure. Larger orifice less. You can also manually adjust pressure by turning pressure adjustment nut (round brass piece above the spring on the regulator). Loss of pressure can also be due to a air leak.
Okay I have the same AR30 on the Honda motor. I have 1" water supply hose and 1"bleach supply hose with a 25' 3/4"bypass line. When I fire up the system and pull my blue gun trigger, I get 250psi. When I release the trigger, it goes to 600psi whether or not the throttle is at full speed, or at the lowest throttle setting. So how do I adjust my pressure settings with the pressure accumulator?
When off the trigger, pressure will accumulate even when the unloader isn't set to max. The reason why you see 250 psi is because you're using a high flow gun. The smaller the orifice on your gun/nozzle the more pressure it's going to show. For example, on a 3500 psi pressure washer if you let your ball valve open with no gun, there will be very little pressure and max amount of flow. If you attach a gun and put a red tip on it, the pressure will be much greater with less flow. Your machine is 600 psi, you just can't get that amount of pressure with every orifice. So 250 psi for a 16gpm blue gun sounds about right.
The issue I am having, is when I let off the trigger, the machine within 2 seconds goes to 600psi and blow's the AG hose off the hose reel and I have to keep the trigger pulled constantly no matter what.
Got them off Facebook marketplace from someone. I believe he bought them at northern tool. These the worse hose I've ever used. Even with a swivel they curl up. If you can find an alternative, try some other hose.
I just hooked this same pump up. I seem to cant get more than 100 psi when I'm on tge trigger. I have it maxed out at 550 when I'm off the trigger. I have tge same set up you have. Are you running into the same problem.
I keep forgetting to check for you. You supposed to see a lot less pressure when on the trigger. I'll let you know my readings when I remember to check. 100 psi on the trigger sounds about right, but it depends on your nozzle's orifice size.
Great Video and explanation mate. I just upgraded from 12v and got my AR30 yesterday. I have a question regarding overflow hose. Intake from proportioner to pump is 25mm hose, bypass hose is 20mm of 5 meter length back to SH Tank, Pressure hose is 12mm to the reel of 12mm 100 meter long hose. Is it normal for bypass hose that it keeps running solution or water back to tank or some how it stops and only send when the gun is down? I tried today for the 1st time for 2-3 minutes as a trial but the bypass hose wasn't stopping to run back to SH tank. Hope my question is clear and thank you in advance.
Hi, If you have a proportioner, then don't bypass into the SH tank. It will cause SH tank to overflow. You only want to bypass back into a tank if you batch mixing. If you using a proportioner, bypass it back to a proportioner. If you squeeze a trigger and it still bypasses, then it means that your unloader isn't set right, or the orifice on your gun is too small. It should only bypass when you're off the trigger.
@@johnhall7940 Thanks mate, I am doing batch mixing at the moment so need to send overflow back to tank. Could you please help me how to setup rigth unloader level? Or which on is unloader. Thank you.
