    Good luck with the move, I hope customs don’t have restrictions on caterpillars entering the country. I was thinking about it and I think I know what went wrong with your launch, because your so pretty and adorable the customers were too distracted to notice the jewellery. That must be it !

    I really recommend you wear a dust mask and safety glasses. Give it a try and blow your nose after polishing and you will know then. Nice work and nice video!
    Edit: I wrote this before you even mention wearing masks later in the video, lol.

      @@MiteraMade first time i used those radial discs i put them in reverse and on 35k rpm, in 10 seconds all the bristles came off and a bunch launched straight at my face!

    Instead of using the radial disk, you can use pumice disks which are a lot safer to use around your stones.

    Have you looked into sending your bullion to the states. It may be easier selling it back to a bullion dealer in the UK and re-purchasing it in the US, once you are settled.

      That’s a great idea! I’ve been so consumed with other things on my todo list, I forgot about all of my silver in my catch tray and in my drawers 🫢🙈

    when making thicker wire rings (like a 8gauge wire), how do you get rid of the line of where you solder? I feel like every time I solder the ring close, I still seem to see where I have solder. I am new to making rings, and sanding and polishing is what I find the most tricky! Do you have any tips and tricks..or even maybe a step by step of what I should do after I'm done soldering the ring closed? Thanks!

    • @MiteraMade
      @MiteraMade  Рік тому

      Hmm, I would say to make sure you ring is super flush and the joint is nice and tight before you solder for the cleanest joint after soldering. If you’re already doing that, I would say just don’t be scared to file away using a rough file, not a fine one. If the solder pulled all the way through to every side, once you sand and file enough it will go away 💜 do you have a half round file? I find that it made it so much easier with the inside of the ring to have a larger half round file. I hope this helps 💜

      overlap the joints and saw.. file the edges. possible to use a mitre block to get an angle really well. if not a mitre block bring the edges together and re saw the cut. neat and tidy solder and plenty of flux. careful file and or sanding. you will be fine. remember to pickle after. and stamp, made in Sunderland on it
