  • After 2 months of using my Costco SHARK Cordless PET PLUS Stick Vacuum - ( amzn.to/3I8cuix ), I have been cleaning the foam and hepa filters and rollers every month and they are DIRTY! To maintain the performance of this vacuum, it only takes about 5 minutes to clean.

The floor attachment roller is very well designed to prevent hair and other items to be tangled in the roller. I noticed there were dust build up in the crevices and plastic nooks. Brushing and vacuuming all the dust helps the suction efficiency. You can also check and remove for any stuck fiber or debris from the roller and path.
You can remove the two sponge filters and clean them with water per the Shark owners manual, however I found using a drop of dish washing soap removes most of the trapped dirt faster and more completely than just a water rinse. It is evident in the darker water. Squeeze dry the sponge filters and let them completely dry before replacing.
I also clean the cone filter, however I only just rinse it with water and let it air dry completely.
Then clear waste bin also builds up dust along the edges and makes the case look gross. I rinse out and shake out all the dust buildup. Three rinses usually removes all the dust build up. I use a microfiber towel to dry and wipe the inside before letting it air dry completely before reinstalling.
Overall, the SHARK Cordless PET PLUS Stick Vacuum - ( amzn.to/3I8cuix ) is a great vacuum for the small home or apartment. You get great accessories for many cleaning situations. The suction is good for a stick vacuum. After 2 months of use, I find it very useful every day.

Thank you so much for showing us how to clean a Shark Stick Vacuum. Mine was so filthy that I almost gagged cleaning it. Honestly, I had no idea how gross it can be. Now, with your easy instructions, my vacuum cleans just like new. Everyone make sure that everything is TOTALLY DRY before you reassemble your vacumm or you will grow mold inside your machine and that's gross too.

Love my Shark. I don't understand why they couldn't have made where the filter is a little easier to find. But thanks to your video, I'm good. Thank you for sharing.

I need to know how to take the fins out of the floor attachment! Do you have any advise? We bought a T12 screwdriver for the teeny tiny screws but to no avail

please, how do you get to the little wheeles and the front clear side of the base to clean those out? The amount of dog hair around the 2 small wheels renders the vac useless???? I see others have commented also - any solutions??

I don’t know if you’ve figured it out yourself but you can remove those wheels by prying them out with a flathead screw driver, they aren’t hard-attached to the vacuum so they can be removed without damaging anything. The hair on the axles can then just be pulled off.

I am having a problem with my Shark Stick Vacuum. Basically it does not pick up like it used to. Also, the vacuum does not glide over the surfaces like it did when new. Any ideas why it is not harder to push the vacuum over the rugs and floors?

Long pipe cleaner, before I just used a garden hose sprayer to clean it and let it dry out for a few days.
