I just heard of the Alinker on Canada's CBC radio's Now or Never program (Oct 28/21). I don't have any need for the Alinker myself, nor for anyone I know, but I am sitting here with goosebumps because this is SUCH A GENIUS INVENTION! I am SO HAPPY for anyone whose life is improved by this! Social connections, exercise, mobility, independence, omg... this invention and its inventor deserve significant accolades. BRAVO!! ☺️
very good concept. Pricewise it is not cheap. Maybe the state will intervene in the cost for certain diaabilities. I have never seen it riding. You see my niece has a motoric disorder and all the gear the parents have to buy now she is growing bigger is very costly. Still like that concept.
My brother shakes and jerks bad. He can barely feed himself. He has been in a wheelchair for the past 3 years so he don't have many leg muscles. He wants to walk so bad. He falls almost daily. Do you think this would work for him. Also, is it sturdy. Is it easily turned over
What is the size of the front wheels? Does the Alinker move well over grass or other uneven terrain? Where is this available for purchase? I need one, like, yesterday (or 10 years ago, lol). I have progressive MS.
NOTE: If a person has auto club they may be able to call for assistance if a flat happens. Check with your provider. Canada's BCAA has this service for bicycles, and the membership is only 10/month.
Given that tiny rear wheel, it would be advisable to limit its use to smooth pavement. Use on uneven terrain is considered misuse, according to the User's Manual.
The price of this thing offends me. As a disabled person I am tired of making people rich and praising them for the "help" they offer at such an exorbitant price. $2750.00 is crazy for this. I mean what's it cost to make? Nutty I say, completely bonkers...
I've had no success trying to get an answer from the company....I REALLY want an Alinker but no one seems willing to ship one to me in Western Turkey....I'm an American but living here for 30 years. I need to move more than I can with a rollator. My problem is with my back. The Alinker seems to be exactly what will be an asset and prolong my life. I wish someone would answer my emails...!!!
They need some type of program. The price is out of reach for most people. I would love one but sadly can't afford it. To be able to walk around would be such a blessing oh well.
Very nice... a lot of people could use one of these but very expensive ...only the rich can afford these... And taken advantage of other people's disabilities to become rich.. You can take an ordinary bike and make this type of bike out of it and it would not cost thousands of dollars

Is there some people this would not be good for? I have an acquaintance friend who's trying to raise funds for one. However, she's very overweight and also has had a lot of work/surgery done on her hips. I just don't want to see her disappointed. She was not the athlete type.
$3 thousand dollars??? SERIOUSLY? I bought an Adult tricycle and it only cost me $300 and NOT $3 grand... like this thing! My trike has a front and back basket so I can carry groceries! And, I wouldn't fall off! AND.. It's not easy to steal!
Show it taking a turn. Looked at 20 videos and no one shows it turning. I think it doesn’t turn, perfers to just go straight. Probably makes a very wide turn? The front wheels don’t twist? Why is this movement not preformed?
Bless this woman, her invention, and her company. I wish her massive success.
🙏Amen!

Why is this so expensive? Will insurance cover the cost, I doubt it. It's a great idea though.
This is so amazing!!! I have Myasthenia Gravis. I wish I could afford this.
Ik ben er zó blij mee mevrouw Barbara Alink! En iedereen vraagt ernaar..ik ben je beste PR in Amsterdam hoor
this is amazing

Wonderful idea! Wish we could get it in South Africa. I've been searching for something like this.
Write to them! Ask your local leaders to import it! This fabulous thing needs to go worldwide.

I'd love to get one for my mom. But even splitting the price with some family it's quite expensive.
I’m not at all fond of Henry Ford but this device is amazing.
How well does it work on dirt or gravel paths?
Good question, it needs tires akin to mountain bikes. Perhaps there are choices or will be soon.

O que faço para comprar um ?

Are these available in eastern Canada?
welcome your invention to Perú 🤗

Why is it so expensive !!!
People making money out of people's disabilities.
Good idea with bad intentions.
Be quiet
@@christinenickles9609 You be quiet, chris. $2750.00 is crazy for people who are disabled and not rich.
How can I buy this Alinker? I'm from Philippines.

Almost $2,000.00 for this is rediculous.
$2750.00 for the base model...
There really should be an option for solid wheels instead of inflatable (prone to flats) tires.

After over a year… I say
A great invention
But not a great investment without a full evaluation
Which sadly they don’t recommend before purchase

Many people in wheelchairs have catheters how does this bike deal with that ? Actually a majority of wheelchair users have catheters
