The first thing I did here was remove the second guitar to instead focus in a single guitar track and double track that. For the intro, I quickly had the idea that I wanted it to crescendo, so I started with just a bass for a dark and not-as aggressive sound to start with and built from that, ending with high flutes doing counterpoint. From there, I started coming up with things for the strings, focusing mostly on the violins with the celli only providing accents for the most part. Once the strings were done, I came up with my own guitar and drum patterns as I almost always do, although it went through a couple of revisions this time, with things ending up too busy during the chorus on the first draft.
After the first chorus, I always imagined there being a call and response action between high and low notes, so I put that into action here, although this too went through a couple of revisions until I ended up with something I was satisfied with.
Even after the two aforementioned and other revisions, mixing things so that the right elements were in focus at the right time was a challenge, I might just have taken up the most time of all.
Time spent working on the track: 31 hours.

Awesome song
Holy shit a full track of the damn baseline would actually kill all mideval peasants in a 12 mile radius. HARD
TWbtD has one of the best riffs out of all the songs in the series. 😎
LMAO 😂
You know I'm not sure what I was expecting, but this was damn good. Almost sounds like something fanon Ruby would listen to.
I mean, canon Ruby listened to the standard theme on her headphones in episode 1...
I just love how clean the rhymes are in this lyrics! :D All the words are perfectly rhymed. Love this show and the opening! :D
That's in awesome video for rwby!! Yeah man 🎸🤘😝🔥👊✊
This might be the best remix of this song I've heard so far, well done brother
Given there's quite a lot of them out there, that's high praise. Thanks. :D
Been listening to your KH tracks. These RWBY ones are great too. Love coming back to your music. Especially your tension rising remix. These background lights make me feel sick though XD
I'm happy to hear that. Thanks for commenting. 😊
Though, what is it about the background that elicits that reaction? Moving too fast?
Well done, its got a good vibe.
*pauses after 5 seconds. "oh I was not ready for how hard this was gonna go"
*Grabs and drinks half an energy drink at once
"Ok, now I'm ready"
This is the way.
You’re lucky you only need half
"Guzzle down your red bull, you're gonna need a bucket full!"
Underrated, this is great!
Haha, this one has actually been doing remarkably well for my channel's standards.
Still, if you'd like to help the channel out, recommend it to others and share the music around. I'd appreciate it. :)
@@NailikNoteworks Ohh, I see, but still you deserve more views, it's a really great cover.
Leave it to me! :D
this is fucking good! along with the rest of your "ongoing" playlist
Thanks! Happy to hear! :D Which one is your favourite so far?
@@NailikNoteworks one? tough call but it has to be mirror mirror. That shit's really the best so far! I also love From Shadows almost equally. The rest are also good but those two are my fav
THIS IS AWOSME, you made some great choices in how to make the song new without losing what it was to start with.
what did you do for the vocals? Im guessing that there not pulled from the original song... is it some sort of vocoloid?
Thank you very much for the compliment, and sharing detailed thoughts! What you described is always what I strive for. :)
As for the question; you are spot on. I like to describe it as "like Vocaloid, but not shit". The vocals were done from scratch carefully edited.
@@NailikNoteworks that's insane! You edited the vocals to give a vocoloid feel?
I'm happy I noticed it : > you must have a good ear to be able to edit that
@@cheeriothecheerio Just to clarify, it's not actual Vocaloid, just a speech synth that works on the same principle. Still, thank you. This kind of editing takes a lot of work. And I'm happy to say, I've been getting better with it with every project.
Not to self-promote, but if you listen to the Red Like Roses cover I did, the difference in quality is pretty noticeable, I think.
Damn this slaps, subscribed!
Thank you! Glad you like it. 😊
I love orchestral remixes. I love rwby music. Need i say more?
Then you've come to the right place. I have a lot of these, with more planned to join the list. :D
@@NailikNoteworks you don’t know how happy that makes me lmao
I’ve been here enough times to notice the thumbnail change lmao
Based. 😎
And yeah, it's pretty common for me to change thumbnails and/or titles every two weeks or so.
Cool!
BANGER!!
I don't wanna sound mean (because I love this track) but the first two lines of lyrics are a bit jumbled up my friend. Otherwise love the remix!
Oh don't worry, I always welcome constructive criticism. With that said, can you explain in what way they're jumbled?
Hi, I have a question: did you learn to write music at a music school or on your own, if on your own, then please tell us where did you get musical theory and everything else that could help you write music? I wrote the last work and after listening to it several times (~25 times) I realized that it often sounds out of harmony (this is just one of the problems), I don’t know almost anything about musical theory (I think so), and there is almost no one to ask for help, only you I know and hope to get help from you.
I'm entirely self taught. In fact, I don't really know music theory at all - all my work is done on intuition and winging it. So I can't really offer any advice other than "keep at it". Try things, and if you find something doesn't work, try again. That might not sound helpful, but it's the best I've got.😅
You could also start uploading your work to UA-cam so you can get feedback on it from others.
@@NailikNoteworks good advice))) "to continue in the same spirit." But I am surprised that you all studied.
I am more happy not for the music (it is, in general, as always good), but for the video sequence. You probably remember my comments on this and I am glad that you are improving.
P.S.
Do you think I forgot about you in a month of absence? How are you doing there? What is the good news?
I've been well, thank you. Been on a bit of a break, not really pushing the once-a-week upload schedule. If I have something for a week, nice, but if not I'm not going to rush to get something out.
@@NailikNoteworks The fire burns quieter, but longer. I agree, it's not worth overdoing it with a hobby. Everything needs a measure.
And I recently went to a free drum lesson, played a real musical instrument for the first time. Naturally, nothing worked out for me)
May I perhaps use your covers for a video?
So long as you credit me along with a link back to the channel, go ahead!
perhaps the show's ONLY remaining grace is its nice cover songs..
otherwise ... forget it.
