- Lingonberries are generally considered best for zone 6 and lower, but I really wanted to try them and had a good spot under my blueberries. I planted 4 varieties - Red Pearl, Red Sunset, Erntesegen and Erntedank. This is how they are doing after a season - some are doing surprisingly well. Maybe berries next year!
Thanks for sharing your Lincoln berries. I’ve never heard of this Barry so thanks for sharing it with us. Hugs and kisses from grandma, Sandy, and Debbie.
funny, I've seen The Big Lebowski so many times and each time I must have glossed over them asking for Lingonberry Pancakes - thanks for pointing that out!
Lol, apparently it is a favorite among the nihilists. I'm wondering if that means they'll be more sour than sweet.
I planted three near my blueberries about two years ago. Two Erntesegen and one Red Pearl...I've seen them flower and develop small green fruit that either dropped off or got eaten before getting larger or red. A couple are spreading slightly like yours.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Hopefully we'll both get some fruit to taste this year. What zone are you in?
@@GardeningwithZiggy I'm in Zone 7a near Philly. They'll probably end up netted under other plants, so I'm hopeful I'll get to try them.
@@paul.1337 Sounds like a good plan. I'll be building a cage over the berry bed in the spring. Strawberries get taken or pecked a lot, but I still get some. But the birds will take every blueberry before they've even turned color if they get the chance.
Thank you for sharing. I'm 7b/NW GA. I am considering growing it in containers.
Sounds like a good experiment. Let us know how they do for you. I would think about keeping them in full sun Spring and Fall, but move them to mostly shade in the summer heat.
